Sounds like you might have been married to a borderline. I was married for 15 years and my divorce was also sudden and traumatic. But God's hand was in my recovery and the divorce made me a better man.
Honestly, it seems like he was keeping secrets, whatever they are/were, he was trying to force himself into a relationship for reasons he did not want to face. But when you guys married he started to realize that you were in it for the long run, and he wasn't. He rejected counselling probably because that was a step he couldn't take with you. Best wishes while you rebuild yourself. It seems you are on the right track!

The most important things in a divorce story is background (how you met, why you liked each other, how long you knew each other etc,) and then the reasons and the process and what was going on, how it started, what happened during the arguments and the story wasnt really told other than "I had a lot of acne". And almost everyone else in TH-cam as well is trying to get views, sell their book and so on. Looks like no one really tells the story with an authentic "sharing" intention.

Thank you for sharing. I am going through the same thing and I believe that God gave me a second chance in marriage. I will use discernment and consult the Lord next time around. God is so good and the Word says that ALL THINGS work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)

My soon to be ex husband is 9yrs older than me. I also thought that meant no immature drama lol.
LOL! We were definitely mistaken. Lol! Even when/if divorce is necessary/desired I know it still is a painful road. Strength to you on your journey!

Queen, if your ex husband is still alive. The Bible instruct us not to marry unless he is past away.
Faith Coils, you are clearly one of those overly religious individuals who have a bent understanding of scriptures. So is the husband allowed to marry if she is still alive? Or it only applies to women?
Yes, God hates divorce but He LOVES the divorced/divorcee. He does not rejoice in seeing any of the affected individual in pain/hurt/abuse of any form. So why die in a marriage that's no longer serving you. Is God so cruel that He'd rather have you suffer to preserve the image "marriage"? No!!!
@@rachelm5943 it goes both ways, neither is the man supposed to marry if his first wife is still alive but still it never always happen the way God instruct us.
A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord ( 1corithians 7:39). God do love the divorcee, but God do restore marriages & individuals hearts everyday. Mark 10:11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, goes both ways. Sorry I’m not religious, you just have to search the scriptures & God will speak.
To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

Underscore "Married Woman", in this case it is no longer the case of married but divorced woman; so she is not bound by any law.
Yes, I totally agree that God works on people hearts(transforms individuals) everyday as you've said, however, He works on the *WILLING* hearts, He does not force anyone to change; Human have the will power to chose otherwise and He doesn't force/coerce. He chose to walk away.
'Come let us reason...' God calls us; we do not need to make obedience to God and His Word seem like such slavery. God is not cruel; He is compassionate, loving, caring, He bears with our infirmities.
Someone just walking out of it is a manifestation of a problem beneath; real deep issues that are best known to them because so many questions are left unanswered.

God desires to see you happy; you're His beloved child. You are so brave by the way because going through all you went through is the hardest things ever, a near death experience; you're one of the strongest I've come across. You handled it like a queen that you are. Bravo!!!

@@rachelm5943 I see where you’re coming from but just because someone is divorced by papers does not mean they are divorced in front of God’s eye. The women is not bound by the law if her husband dies physically. If you do get a divorced it’s okay, but you must stay single my sister. God is not cruel God, but I’m just a sister it’s best to ask ask God and his scriptures only.
There’s always 2 sides to every story. I wonder how many hoops this young man went through to satisfy and save his marriage. Life is so hard on black men.
He didn’t jump through any, as stated, he didn’t want counseling, he didn’t want to talk, he didn’t have a reason, he just didn’t want to be married and that’s his choice. However, this isn’t a “black men have it hard” story. ❤️

@@amazinglife1068 Don't say that. Maybe he was hiding something from her and that's why he never wanted to get counselling so that he would be exposed. It's not a black man issue, it's a black couples issue. Not every issue has to be about the battle of the sexes. We all need honesty and communication.
As a Christian, you're not allowed to date or remarry until the ex is dead. Romans 7:3

@@KarsynRaquel Jesus said, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so" (Matthew 19:8). Divorce is the direct result of the hardness of man's heart, but from the beginning, divorce was never part of God's plan.

You have a point, divorce was not God's plan from the beginning but because Man' s heart has been hardened by sin and selfishness, it has become so; it is what it is. If I may ask, was pain/hurt/hatred/malice/murder/covetousness/lies part of God's plan from the beginning?? Absolutely not....but because man's heart has been hardened there's so much cruelty.
Divorce happens when love breaks down and selfishness wins....and healthy relationships needs healthy people. At times, only one partner is the healthy one in marriage relation.
