Three games in a row (at home even) where I feel like the sharks played better for most of the game and could’ve won. That power play in the second you were talking about, with Celebrini moving in and out, and trying to make the play, I think was the sharks best power play of the year, despite not scoring. It was very reminiscent of the lethal jets power play a few nights ago (which is first in the league). It seemed liked Celebrini took notes on how their power play was run, and tried to emulate it. Now if everyone else can do that
I think this home stand was a microcosm of the Sharks as a team right now. We are literally right there in every single game. This team is knocking on the door of being a good and even a great team. You’ve got a young offensive core that is only going to get better, with reinforcements coming as soon as next year. You’ve got a defensive core that is still heavily under construction and will probably be almost completely replaced via guys like Dickinson coming in, drafting and free agency, and you’ve got arguably the best rookie prospect goalie coming in as your potential starter next season. I really think this is the last year of being a total bottom feeder. We’re already at a point where we’ve shown we can go toe to toe with big teams and yeah maybe we’re not winning those games right now but in a year or two this team is looking to be dominant. So a little silver lining there.
I like the videos. Especially the fact that there aren't gambling ad promos stuck in the middle. I f*cking hate that sh*t. As far as the game goes, I think they looked pretty good a lot of the time. The Sharks let the Avalanche in the house in the first 5 or so minutes of the gamw but then came back with some serious pressure with a lot of good chances. Still not a full 60 minutes though. I think the reason goodrow was on the 1st line was to make the lines a bit more balanced, but they dont really have the team put together to do something like that. Although one of my favorite types of hockey is the Pete Deboer era Sharks, where they just rolled all 4 lines.
@@ponyboy9765 I've watched him for awhile and I like his analysis of stuff outside of individual games (trade reviews, prospective moves, player grades, draft stuff, etc.). But his game analysis outside of the deep numbers he has are pretty whack. The game review for this Avs/Sharks game he basically said that the 3rd line "Did what it does" like wtfffff
Warsofsky is definitely more of a top 9 guy, but I also think he doesn’t really have the luxury to roll out the 4th line very often since the Sharks are frequently chasing games.
Georgiev let in some soft ones. Grier wants that lottery pick. 😅 I liked smiths game, but he was responsible for that 3rd avs goal imo. I hope kostin replaces goodrow soon. Or any ahl player for that matter. Walman on the pp on the breakout from his own zone always skates to the neutral zone then drops the puck back to celebrini in every single breakout. He did it 3 times in a row, it was so obvious that the avs player almost just picked it off. Guy needs to mix it up.
I don't think goodrow is going to be the one on the outs. Unfortunately he seems to constantly get top 6 time all while doing absolutely nothing. Actually doing nothing might be an improvement
Same issue with Georgiev unfortunately, he over skates when he moves and loses position just a bit but it’s enough to score on him in NHL((( first one, can’t catch the shot with his glove, losing his position and can’t put the pad on the ice in time. Second, over skates on the right side, loses his grip and position just a bit, awkwardly comes back left and missing the shot 😢 Feels like Askarov already more solid keeper, if you forget about his first 11 seconds))) But my personal anti-hero is Fresh Prince 🤴 missed two 100% chances and his key giveaway just killed the game 😢 uhh ohh growing pains)))
I think having a #1 defenseman is so important for long term success, and as well as Dickinson has been this year, there is no guarantee he can hit that level. Being another leftie is awkward, but Schaefer seems to have that “it” factor.
I mostly liked how the sharks played last night, but they gotta get better on the power play. Too predictable, too static, no one ever really tries to make the goalie’s job harder so it’s just a lot of passing and hoping someone has a good shooting lane
Surely Grier will free us from Rutta eventually. Thank you for your service sir, you have now transformed into a 5th round pick. Honestly maybe they are scared scratching Rutta even once might tank his trade value. I don’t really care that they scratched liljegren once but it really should only be once and if he slips into sometimes in lineup and sometimes out of it I’ll be annoyed
Smith gets absolutely dropped by 6'6" 240 Middleton at the halfway point of the 1st and does not return mentally (or physically, wincing back to the bench). Absolutely to blame for the giveaway, he was scrambled IMO.
Waited up for professor hockey. Never disappoints

I think so too. I’m not sure if they’ll make the playoffs next year, will depend on the moves made, but I’m still looking at 26-27 as our year.

The locked on sharks shade 😂
I can’t stand that shit either. Hard to even get through a single episode with that guy.

Yeah the Sharks power play is just predictable right now, which is not good
I was at this game!
Hope you had fun!
Thanks Prof, it's deja vu all over again - the Sharks are good, but their opponent is gooder...
If only their opponent was goodrow haha
@@professorhockey ...groan...

Michael Misa or Matthew Schaefer plz
Martone over misa for me
Need a Rwinger for Celebrini
I’m all in on Schaefer
@@professorhockey really? Even though we have a lot of LHD + Dickinson coming up? Don’t get me wrong would love to have Schaefer as well haha.

Also agree about thrun looking great yesterday
Rutta, Ferraro, Goodrow
I’m kind of flip-flopping between whether Rutta is even tradeable or not. I think it could happen, but it’s so hard to believe.

Warsofsky seems to see it your way based on the practice lineup today, guess we will agree to disagree on that
