@@InsectWars those beetles love dirt. You may as well not kill another mantis because he can't win. I don't even think a large grasshopper can beat those beetles.
the beetle was already weakened, his back wasn't closed properly, was damaged, and hes not made for this kind of fight. use a stag beetle(a proper one, and not hurt before battle) or at least a tiger beetle(again, a proper one).
