I mean If you practice ONLY when you watch something then is bad But otherwise you just add some extra practice points if you watch Estepario Siberiano 8h a day practice video You can see he clearly has the tv on and his watching something And Scott Henderson said to his podcast that he used watch tv while playing for muscle memory stuff like scales ect So clearly there is a place for that if these monsters do that
This is really great. The "taking the extra step" really resonated with me. Taking a phrase, lick, riff, whatever and incorporating it into your vocabulary and then getting out of Guitar Pro... Really good tips and reminders in here.
All great points, and fantastic advice.. I just suffer from getting stuck on something at some point, and begin to doubt myself about playing guitar! It’s been a viscous circle, for far too many years.. 😔 I wish I could wipe my mind, and begin completely afresh, with a schedule to follow, as by myself, I’ll end up losing focus when I get frustrated!
Well, Rick Graham often watch tv and plays, so I guess it’s not that big deal. Of course you probably kill lots of time that way, but like a one hour warm up before/after practice it seems good to me.
Keep making these guidance videos, though I can't afford your mentoring, these videos are helping a lot, kindly don't stop, thanks a ton !
sometimes i practice while i am watching twitch or youtube streams... you made me rethink this. i should listen more closely to what i am playing.

I learned polyphia songs I never thought I could learn. And now I can play a bunch of riffs that I improved my skill ceiling

People think your divergent nowadays if you are able to focus for prolonged periods...
So much judgment for no reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You need to be honest with a critic un order to Identify your flaws and improve
@@mendozosa its about the way it is presented
Also to be critical you have to understand who you are talking to otherwise you will be criticizing people who your judgements don't apply to.
The greatest players of all time never practiced. They played, and they played all the time, while watching tv, while taking a dump......
