Thanks! Doing pretty well, just really busy. I hope all is well where you're at too! How is the imaging?

@@deepskydetail I haven't done any imaging at the new place. I have to locate a decent area to set up in - and of course it has rained most days here too. Hopefully soon; even if it is only with the 72ED

The concept of color is very interesting. Its like all our other perceptions of the world outside our bodies. All in your head, neurons making sense of it all. Outside our head there is no color at all...look forwards to your next video! 👍🏻

Excellent color video. As one of the many color-blind (I prefer color-deficient!) males that are also astrophotographers, this is a useful overview. I also appreciate that all my attempts to identify the RGB color values and match to a color depend on whether it is transmitted or reflected. I have another hobby that is embroidery, and I lack the same ability to tell what color a thread is or match it to the color "on screen" when I create the art and need others to match the threads for me to the "best" color match. "best" in this context has the exact same problems that you highlight for astrophotography.

Thanks! Glad you liked the video, and thanks for sharing your experience :)
I feel that color is such a weird thing sometimes. What we think should be intuitive really isn't, and people can look at the same object and see something totally different! There's probably a life lesson in there somewhere.

Another colour-deficient hobby astrophotographer here who also struggles with colours.. I have two good friends in Australia who are also hobby astrophotographers, so I get them to take a look at my images first, to ensure the colours are "correct"!!!

I need to know the coordinates of the great banana nebula & image it lol, interesting video though as astro imaging colours always seem to look a bit different on each target even if I reprocess some old data as it never looks the same.

Thank you! I'll reveal how I imaged the great banana nebula in the next video of the series. But it involves riding in a small spaceship on top of a huge spaceship. I have the same issues with color and processing. Each time I reprocess an image it looks different.

There's some major Copium in this video. The simple answer is astrophotographers commonly take creative license with the color in astrophotography in post processing.
