No one forces people to smoke. I have listened many hours of these old programs, complete with cigarette commercials, and I have never once felt the desire to smoke. People smoke in spite of the known hazards. Give your whining a rest.

@Danny Hilton I agree both compounds can be toxic. The difference being the latter can kill you instantly during the first use, while it can take years or decades of using the former to cause any damage or death. I am not pro-smoking, nor have I personally been a smoker, but comparing tobacco to heroin is a stretch.
