I met Martin Lawrence when I was 16 while working as an assistant set decorator on the film, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate. I was sleeping during a break and I woke up to someone asking me "How I was doing?" and it was him. I said "great" and he told me he appreciated me and to keep up the good work. Super nice guy.

My husband and I watched our Martin dvds when I was pregnant and as a result, my now 15yr old daughter is a huge fan and knows every episode and most of his movie. Martin's gift to bring laughter into homes is unmatched!! One of favorite comedians!!
I don't think he understands how much laughter he added (and STILL adds) to my life from just that show. Aside from "I Love Lucy," there is no other show where I laugh pretty much as hard today after having seen each episode hundreds of times as I did back then when they originally aired. Truly iconic.

I think the the true value is seeing Martins versatility in how he could play so many different characters and bring them to life so well. Though it was the same actor (Martin) they all had their distinct roles and fit very well into their own individual personality and scenes from Shanaynay, to Jerome, to security guard Otis + many more. You would have to go through a whole season to see what I mean.

@ I would say that too from time to time, but now Im looking at things in a different way he's older meaning he has learned a lot he's more wiser and of course he's not going to have the energy of a 20-year-old. He's almost 60 I don't think people realize that. I think he did right by settling down a bit because I wouldn't want to see a 60-year-old still acting like he's in his twenties. I'm just glad to see that he's still alive and well and healthy and may God bless him the rest of his life.
martin is real legend. I grew up watching his show every evening. I hope his legacy continues through his craft and generations later would enjoy the great entertainment he has blessed us with.

Even affected fashion today with its many colors on Jackets and denims as we see many throwback fashions reminiscent of the shows theme song which plays it’s way onto clothing with its deep greens, reds and yellow. I think the the true value is seeing Martins versatility in how he could play so many different characters and bring them to life so well. Though it was the same actor (Martin) they all had their distinct roles and fit very well into their own individual personality and scenes from Shanaynay, to Jerome, to security guard Otis + many more. You would have to go through a whole season to see what I mean.

@ I would say that too from time to time, but now Im looking at things in a different way he's older meaning he has learned a lot he's more wiser and of course he's not going to have the energy of a 20-year-old. He's almost 60 I don't think people realize that. I think he did right by settling down a bit because I wouldn't want to see a 60-year-old still acting like he's in his twenties. I'm just glad to see that he's still alive and well and healthy and may God bless him the rest of his life.
