    Timestamps you should hear:
(00:03:59) Why exclusively drinking bottled water could increase your microplastic intake by up to 90,000 particles per year
(00:07:07) Why consuming food or drinks heated in plastic increases BPA exposure up to 55x
(00:08:07) How microwaving food in plastic containers can release over 4 million microplastic particles into a meal in just 3 minutes
(00:08:18) Why microwavable popcorn is a major source of PFAS (AKA, forever chemicals)
(00:21:15) How consuming canned soup daily for 5 days affects urinary BPA levels
(00:26:38) The likely link between BPA & autism spectrum disorder

(00:57:14) Why disposable coffee cups are a major source of BPA exposure
(00:58:14) How salt adds 7,000 microplastic particles to your diet every year
(00:59:18) How to reduce microplastics in indoor air
(01:00:52) How to alter your wardrobe to reduce microplastic exposure

Thank you, Rhonda. As many as people as possible need to become aware of the worldwide crisis of microplastics. The issue of microplastics is even more complex than when we used to use leaded gasoline, which caused a widespread drop in IQ.

I remember being a little kid eating microwave popcorn and literally scraping the butter-plastic-chemical sludge from the sides of the bag and eating it. No wonder I have so many shortcomings 😔

I berate my coworkers for using plastic utensils ir plates during our lunch break constantly. I'm that guy who carries a set of stainless steel fork and knife and a foldable knife everywhere I go and avoid plastic near my food at all cost.
Take those plastic plates and tiss them in the garbage!!! Get bamboo plates/bowls if glass/porcelain is of concern.

Thank you for this Rhonda! I really appreciate your work, it has helped me tremendously! I will watch this when I get some time.
I recently decided to stop wearing all clothes containing synthetic materials (with a few exceptions). I got a much better water filter and am storing my water in copper. I never put any plastic in the microwave or heat it around my food.
And by the way, I am right now in the process of learning how to sprout my own seeds, including broccoli! You were the one that introduced me to broccoli sprouts! Thanks! 😃

If we drink or eat these mircoplastics, they would for sure end up in the colon. How does the microbiome play a part in helping ? Some microorganisms have been found to possess enzymes capable of breaking down certain types of plastics. Thank you

listening to you I wonder what is the intention? There is no way that we will stop using plastics whatsoever. Production continues and the breakdown of plastic due to UV light or physical impact will also continue......
the breakdown of supply chains thus civilization seems to be the only hope to stop the contamination

I believe nano sized zeolite can detox/remove microplastics. Studies have shown this can be done in wastewater, no published human studies yet, but zeolite is safe to ingest, so may be a safe way to mitigate the problem without chelating important trace minerals. Zeolite has shown to also safely remove heavy metals from bodily tissues

Would help to have a break down by plastic types (they don't make it easy to find percentages). Thinking about sous vide bags.
Seems like HDPE kept below 190F is safer (maybe?).
    Water bottles:
polyethylene terephthalate (PET) - 78.8 percent
    polycarbonate (PC) - 12 percent
high density polyethylene (HDPE) - 9.2 percent.
    Sous Vide bags listed as:
    Polyamide also known as Nylon
    High density polyethylene (HDPE)
And then newer microwave safe containers say it uses 'Tritan'.
"Tritan, a copolymer offered by the Eastman Chemical Company since 2007, is a transparent plastic intended to replace polycarbonate, because of health concerns about Bisphenol A (BPA). Tritan is a copolymer made from three monomers: dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), and 2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol (CBDO).Tritan (PCTG) is made without using any bisphenols or phthalates."

Studies on leeching besides BPA just mention "The researchers bought more than 450 plastic items from stores including Walmart and Whole Foods. They chose products designed to come in contact with food - things like baby bottles, deli packaging and flexible bags"
Would like to find a study on HDPE specifically.
