TH-cam has been putting out the Days of the 03,04, 05, 06, and 07 Main Events... they've been putting one show out everyday... They are up to Day 3 of 2007 posting today. These ESPN coverages are some of the greatest TV shows of the 2000's. Amazing! It wasn't the Moneymaker Effect that created the Boom... It was ESPN'S Amzing coverage. Moneymaker had the name and great story. I believe Moneymaker started the Online Boom... But even if Teddy Two Fingers won in 2003, the boom still would have happened. It's just insane hearing how much those PokerStars Pros were making for endorsing Poker Stars... Erick Lindgren was making $250,000 a month! And they were shelling out cash to their players. Poker Stars and Chris Ferguson gave Erick a $2,000,000 loan! And due to a small error, they accidently sent it to his account twice! And Erick burned through ALL THAT MONEY +. Man it's nuts when guys think the easy money is gonna keep rolling in.
The JJ fullhouse fold vs KK fullhouse is a crazy fold, but if you think about the action, its not too crazy... Think about it- A player with JJ looking down a big raise preflop is leary of AA, KK, QQ and AK etc... So thats #1. On a flop of A K J, you are skill not confident and after the post flop action, you can put the guy on AA KK QQ or A-K A-Q, but could possibly leave AQ out. They both slow down with the 10 turn to a queen to a gutter A K J 10... Now the JJ is only beating AK, the paired 10 almost eliminates AK, AQ, and QQ raising the river. A-10 isn't in most ranges neither is J-10. If you boil it down, The man played the hand like AA or KK... To be very very honest, JJ fullhouse on the river was only a bluff catcher... It was impractical to value bet anything other than AA KK or in possibly 10-10, but thats a stretch. Most players would honestly just say to themselves "I cannot fold Jacks full, but in all honesty, the question they have ask is "what can I honestly beat?"
Joe Hackem's over/under on how many times he says "so sick" in a tourney is usually 20 a day. Guys who win the Main Event should be barred from saying they ever got unlucky. Imagine a lottery winner telling you about their unlucky experience that cost them $200.
