Now if you wanted to optimize your 5/8 performance, remove the top hat. Set the antenna radiator to 22' 2" - I usually slide a red or yellow rubber cap over the tip. Retune the matching trombones (you might have to make a longer one for the hot side) - Usually *about* 31.5" from the bolt to the center of the curve of the trombone. Isolate the base of the 5/8 from the metal pole with a solid 1.5" or so by 6-8 foot long fiberglass rod, leaving 18" of the fiberglass exposed so you can wrap 5½ tight turns of your coax on a 4" diameter tube of gray PVC and placed at about the middle of the 18" of fiberglass and about 9"-10" below the 5/8 radials. Do this and you'll get more energy radiated in the low angle, a perfect SWR & Zero Reactance (X) with any power level and less RF into yours and your neighbor's homes. You're Welcome 😉 †
For the amount of SWR showing, any losses you might have would be negligible ! And sure won't be noticed on the other fellas receiver ! Should'a just started your radio fun ! Instead of worrying about trying to land a 1.1 SWR ! Wish you would have shown more about how you made the tilt mast ! IMHO ! 🤔...? JUST SAY'N !
