That job taking down houses looks to be a very satisfying job! Wish I could do that for a living! You can definitely see the newer construction is so much cheaper than the old way with 2x6 roof rafters, cheap and fast is the new way of construction! Sad…..
I'm excited! I was waiting a while for this post. It brings me back in time to childhood watching demolition with my dad and waiting to see the glass smash and the objects inside break.
Before I retired I was a building contractor and it was great to get to build a new house . I always liked it when we could remove a building and being the boss I could just sit and watch the subcontractor do his part of ripping it apart . Just as much fun as building something in it's place . I always told the owner if he can give any usable stuff away then have at it before we started . After we start then nobody gets on the property and in our way , to much danger having them there .
It’s always cool to me to watch destruction! I’m an electrician, we wired a new Mission Barbecue where a Pizza Hut used to be. We just happened to be at the site when they tore it down. They let our local fire department use the building for training which was pretty cool. They left the tables, chairs, and a lot of furnishings in the building. Nothing about that old building was worth saving. I enjoyed watching this!!!
Another great video, Brian! Oooooh, I need to come get those old mushroom light fixtures in the gardens. Those are the old copper ones! I need to repurpose those babies!!! 😊
3:40 - Brian, I thought for sure you would save that massive door with the heavy hardware! @ 11:00 that is a great shot of the excavator framed against the remains of the house.
@ Native as in any plant that has evolved with (your) local ecosystems. Planting native creates biodiversity, attracting pollinators and birds that benefit both parties; plants and animals. Cultivated plants non-native or bred cultivars are sterile and have almost no benefits other than maybe being CO2 syncs. They also could be the invasives of tomorrow, depending on what is chosen.
@@Lunar_Capital good, now that I know you can copy and paste a Google search. Your original comment is irrelevant to my statement. There’s no need in destroying a perfectly good Japanese maple that many people would gladly pay for. It’s just stupidity at its finest.
@ Wow you thought I just copy and pasted that from Google? I must be pretty good. I never said to rip out what you got, planting natives along with ordainmentals will be just as beneficial compared to if you did rip out what is present which would be pointless extra work. LAWNS however can go, theres nothing more stupid than manicuring a carpet of grass because its “uniform” and “seamless”. Otherwise, i have two Japanese maples in my front lawn that came with my house that I adore, one is the shrubby ones like the one mentioned, one being the actual tall growing trees. I would never cut them down just because.
Nice clip, does it ever cross your mind that there are salvageable items like from this house, or have you reached the point where it is just business and the house/structure goes to the dump? Just curious.
I can't say I'm heartbroken watching this. I may be the only one, but I have never been impressed by McMansions. If somebody gave it to me, I would tear it down too.
Just like the other commenter, I thought this house looked like Mike Brady designed it. It had a very "Brady Bunch" appearance to it. Did Alice leave anything in her closet before she left?

You meant bricks? The big reinforced concrete slab flats back in central and eastern Europe won't last for long, but they are much stronger than the cardboards those americans call "houses". Ngl, they have some really decorated and expensive cardboards 😂😂
@@polishstick0609 a storm and the American houses are more than broken! the European houses are made of concrete blocks and reinforced concrete after a storm they are still standing just the roof which will be impacted and they are hard and easy houses over 100 years old and no need to repaint them unlike the American wooden house for me they are houses in paper 🤣🤣🤣
