DJI Mavic Mini - less than 250g, allowed on plane and all the rules followed before taking drone flight. Your drone should be registered and you need to take permission before each flight in Croatia. Also depends which drone you have.
You will definitely enjoy during this time. In terms of getting into water, it really depends on the region and temperature that day. Weather will be pleasant. Unsure if it would be good for swimming or not.

August would be a nice month I believe, last season of Summer. Check for rain in advance and then book your flights.
