Great videos. Owning a Rolex is way above my pay grade! I am blessed to own a Prospex version of this watch and it is fantastic. Try it on the rubber/silicon strap. Makes a HUGE difference and I really prefer it to the bracelet!
This was kind of like a behind the scenes edition, additional information. I feel Rolex has a somewhat timeless design, they fit in anywhere. The Marinemaster does look like its from a particular time period, but thats not a bad thing, just an observation. Thanks for taking the time to finish up the review, I enjoyed that.
Love that Sub! Tritium, open 6 and 9 date wheel. It’s in great condition too. I’ve always wanted a 5513 but it’s hard to find them in good condition and can be risky. It’s true they wear so comfortably like your favourite pair of jeans. The Seiko Marine master and even modern turtles are like the maxi case submariner 116610 to current. Larger hour markers and ceramic bezels make a huge difference on the wrist in day to day wear. Love for both!!
I had / built a 5512 / 5513 out of Rolex bits and pieces and it was really awesome; I loved it. I had to sell it because you know how it goes, but I miss that watch. So elegant, so nice, a pleasure to look at.
I fully agree with what you say about the proportions of the dial and bezel on the Seiko. I generally prefer watches with a dial that is relatively small in comparison to the case. Especially on divers, it makes the watch more solid and sturdy in appearance, like the portholes of a boat in comparison to the large windows of a house.
same me, but when I was buying my mm300 that moment I have all verions on "table" to choose best one for me and even if marinemaster word was tempting then beauty of darker steal coating and saphire glass plus saphire lumed bezel convinced me to take sla021
Oh good, I was worried there was an issue. Thank you for clarifying. I have a new MM300 with the green dial. I like the watch, but the bracelet makes me worry a lot as the clasp will pop open without warning at times. I hope Seiko will takes steps to improve these bracelets in the future. After spending $2,200 USD I should not have to seek aftermarket options.
While I am taking service work, I can only take a few jobs a month. When I have a service slot open up, it goes on our ‘servicing’ page at kleinvintagewatch.com - apologies if you’ve already gone there and signed up for the wait list. When a slot is opened, everyone on that wait list is notified at the same time, and it’s first-come-first service. Each slot is a buyable item for $500, which is a prepayment on your job. It’ll be applied to the final invoice. These prepayments are not refundable. Turn times - when you get a watch in here, it will be one of probably no more than six or so jobs, so the wait will be much shorter than it used to be (some people waited four years) but still a few months minimum. This is simply due to the fact that we’re a mom-and-pop and if anything needs doing, we have to do it, and there is a lot to do. If you can’t wait or would like other options, contact Daniel Blair at the Blair Watch Project and see if he’s got room on his schedule. Thanks and I apologize for not being able to help you right away.
I appreciate you getting back to me. I haven't gone to the website to see if any slots were available but I doubt there would be! I'm just trying to get these watches serviced correctly and by someone who cares about what he's doing and loves the brand. I've dealt with a few watch makers and I was not impressed at all. Thanks again.
Agree, amazing. Both brands bring baggage to the table, but safe to say, these t models represent the brands' pinnacle of form serving function. Perhaps that is why they can be perceived as 'boring' ....w/out splashing features offered in newer iterations even ...of these same watches. Thanks, Spencer.
@@chrispurzer9461 Yeah I looked hard at the Marinemaster as a possible buy and all the time I kept hearing people say they have had one several times... It's not a keeper it seems. I think thats because it lacks soul or character. It's just a big wonderfully competent dive watch. As for the Rolex..just a Rolex yawn...
There is no question. The Marinemaster is clearly the watch to have.

Well said! Yes, like the portholes on a ship, I never thought of that!
I’m kinda sad they removed Marinemaster from the dial. It loses a little cool but I do like the sapphire ceramic changes.

The difference in lug size is also on the Daytona! I wonder if it's done with all the models with crown guards?
Marinemaster hands down.
Hi Spencer, is the date working ok on the Seiko? I noticed it was not set.
That was me. I forgot.

Both nice but on steel bracelets the MM300 is a heavy beast and a nightmare to wear during a hot sweating summer
I wonder why I missed this video...
Taking any work? I have 2 Seikos I'd like to get serviced.

We have Seiko sbdx017 I love it
I was surprised at your being adament about not reluming the Rolex since you've had great success with restoring Seikos.
It would destroy the originality and cut the value down. There’s no way to undo a reluming.
I love that Rolex.
Tiny hands on the Rolex 🤔
If you can;t use it in the dark, lume it...
Both amazing watches in terms of function and qaulity. But both of them are rather boring (to me). You can be too competent.

My English ain't that poor. Sorry. Autocorrect f-ed up my comment. Eeech😢
