    Really helpful video - my electrolux (easybox - probably a 2018/19 model) just stopped working and I couldn't figure out why as I regularly clean the dust / dirt collection bin - but haven't cleaned the nearby filter. It was full of dust! I took it out and cleaned it and after a couple hours the vacuum started up again. Thanks again for the helpful video and cleaning tip.

    Thanks for the great video. Do we need to also clean the motor?

    @difflocktwo I really agree, I made this video because 1 out of every 2 of these machines that came in for 'repair' was just a blocked filter. I dont think many of the stores tell people to clean the filters so unless people actually read the manual it just never occurs to them that they might have to.

      Hey! What if the vacuum still doesn’t turn back on after clearing a very clogged filter..? Brand new Electrolux, bought at the start of the year (didn’t know about the filter thing) - thanks!!

    Hi Alec, I have removed the felt piece from the rear filter area to clean and cannot get it to go back in. Is it possible you could do a small clip on inserting it back so I can follow. I have replaced all filters and cleaned all dust from areas around the filter bays and the vacuum will not start. I need to insert the felt piece to complete the reassembly and then to check operation again. Thanks

    It even says in the manual to wash it every 3 months or something. How did that get so clogged? People need to read their manuals. Standard vacuum maintenance is to take apart what you can and make sure its not totally coated in crud.

    hi my electrolux vacuum suddenly died on me last weekend. the back of the vacuum was overheated. I already cleaned all the dirt from inside it but it still won't turn on... what else should I check?

    Hi Alex my electrolux ultra performer vacuum needs to be repaired because I accidentally vacuumed up water and it now it won't turn on. Will this be the main problem why it won't turn on and is this a costly fix and I was quoted $280 from a repairer over the phone, just want to know if this is what is expected to pay for the motor. I'm expecting it is because the motor I'm guessing of a vacuum is the most important part.

    If your machine still only runs for 10 - 15 mins with brand new filters there is something wrong with it that needs to be repaired. If the filters are even a couple of months old and simply cleaned they can still be worn enough that it will cause overheating.

    No one ever says anything about the felt cover in the motor. The manual says nothing. How do I get it back in?

    • @brackenboy6321
      @brackenboy6321 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, that's why I came to this site. The felt cover over the washable sponge gets really thick with gunk which is hard to get off. I assume it goes on the sponge filter after the sponge has been fitted. There is also another thin felt filter in a fame next to the motor which doesn't seem to get very dirty. I clean all of these after every use.
