    If you demand an apology from me I refuse. I did nothing wrong just stated an opinion. Freedom of speech and expression is a human right for all and platforms such as TH-cam act for freedom of speech so I can say that a movie looks like trash if it does

    Grease, Rent, Cinderella, Freaky Friday, Into the Woods, Mamma Mia, and The Sound of Music were all amazing films…. that were first- musicals, then re-cast and turned into films. The large difference here is that EVERYONE has been waiting for wicked to be TURNED INTO A FILM since 2006. It is finally happening. It won’t be a competition for the box office lead, these two films are going to break records. I also wouldn’t speak for people who you don’t know, I have worked proudly on Broadway for the past 7 years. We auditioned for this film, some of us helped produce this film. We are excited to see THIS CAST. The original cast has not been in the roles since 2005, and the current cast changes by the season. It is not a role that any of the ORIGINAL CAST could’ve returned to play- they are in college in the show- the cast members are…. Well…. Older

    I think the target audience of this trailer is the fancommunity of the musical.
    They showed us things we've been concerned about. Every scene in this trailer is showing stuff that you can clearly connect to the musical. If you know the musical you can clearly identify a variety of the diffent musical numbers from the visuals (popular, what is this Feeling, defying gravity, no one mourns the wicked, I'm not that girl....). We also hear vocal tracks from Popular and defying gravity.

    I think you need to look at it in a way of hype. Hairspray, Rent and Wicked are some of the most highly acclaimed and longest running musicals of our time. There's no way it is bound to flop. The only thing I can see being an issue is it being a two part movie. But this story has the luxury of being a musical adapted from a novel. So you're right it might have more beef story sprinkled with musical numbers. We don't know. I highly suggest you give it a chance :) It's a great story, and it's the wizard of oz. The whole world is excited for this.

    The book the musical is based on, was written in 1995, 2 years before Harry Potter came out. Wait till you find out it's actually going to be 2 films, the 2nd part is out in 2025.

    Of course this will not fit everyone's tastes in terms of the film. Based on the play/musical which is based on a four set series of books. This is a musical, so yes there will be a lot of singing. For me I am looking forward to this. Have always been a fan of the Wizard of Oz stories and the films that came out of this are interesting. You mentioned the Joker which for me I didn't care much for, though it was well made and many liked it.
    Thanks for sharing.

    This film is based on Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire which came out in 1995, 2 years before Harry Potter. This is also an adaptation of the Stage Version of Wicked. I suggest you do your research before watching. Both Wicked the Musical and the Novel are based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum from 1900 and the Film The Wizard of Oz from 1939. This is split into 2 films. The 1st film is based on the 1st Act of the Show. The 2nd Film is based on the 2nd act, Which takes place at the same time as The Wizard of Oz.

    Well i guess this is a great way to get views. People love Wicked. The musical alone probably has made over a billion dollars or more. Look up how much Phantom, cats, and ir Hamilton made. Live musicals still have a market and make loads of money.

    This movie will break box office records. And when it does, I expect a filmed apology from you.
    Because.
    CYNTHIA freakin’ ERIVO is a BROADWAY STAR. She’s won TONYS, for goodness sake. She also won GRAMMYS and EMMYS. this may be her time to get her OSCAR, and then she can be an EGOT-Emmy, Grammy, Tony, Oscar. And then you add ARIANA GRANDE as Galinda (later “Glinda” after she changes her name). The chemistry between these two is palatable. Add to that JEFF GOLDBLUM as the Wizard and OSCAR-WINNER Michele Yeoh has Madame Morrible…stellar cast, stunning sets (most of which WERE BUILT AND NOT GGI), and the directing prowess of JOHN CHU-stunning. Do you KNOW Wicked’s story? Thst it’s the FOURTH LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY? Yep. Twenty+ years. You. Are. Dead. Wrong. Mark my words!

    Im so excited for this movie its not even funny, i think it looks amazing, my only negative thing id have to say is the fact that i feel the trailer gave WAY too much away, this ruins the mystery for those who havent seen the Broadway, like i dont see why they couldnt let people assume that ariana was going to be a villain, that would have been an amazing twist for those who are new to it, and as for a person who has seen the broadway, id STILL would have loved to see her and elphaba become friends through the movie.

    I assume you have seen the classic 1939 MGM Wizard of Oz? And you probably know it is based on the 1900 book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the first of 14 books written by L.Frank Baum, with additional books written afterwards. The green witch in Wicked is based on Margaret Hamilton's performance, and costume, from the MGM movie, not the drawings in the book.
    Literally the very first book I ever read was the third in the series, Ozma of Oz, and only saw the movie years later, when it started being shown on tv once a year. I did go on to read a lot of the other Baum books. In many ways, the movie and books are quite different. I feel not that one version is so much better than the other but both great in their own way.
    The books are all in the public domain and so can be found, complete with the original illustrations (showing how the author envisioned his characters) on line. Baum's three companions to Dorothy were NOT dressed-up humans. The lion was an actual lion, the scarecrow and tin woodsman quite weird if you are only familiar with the movie version.
    Disney made Return to Oz, based on the second and third books, and this adheres VERY closely to the books. However, many viewers were taken aback as the books are a lot darker than the MGM musical. (Yet at the time when he was writing, Baum was beseeched by hundreds of children writing him and telling him how much they enjoyed his books.)
    Each version of the Oz story seems to find a new way to interpret it, diverging in all different ways. What I see in the trailer has little resemblance of my vision of Oz, which might be good or might be bad. Or might just be different, the way Cinderella or Pinocchio have inspired different ways of telling their story. (Or the way we have Winnie The Pooh, Blood & Honey or Pride & Prejudice and Zombies, a totally different envisioning of a familiar story.)
    What I see in this trailer is something that looks so over CGI'ed, a problem I found with Disney's Oz, The Great & Powerful. Just a personal taste.
    I hope you get a chance to at least look at the original illustrations (type the name in Google and just each by itself will pop up_ And would love to see you react to Return to Oz

    • @empty-chair
      @empty-chair หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AnyCastPlus no. it’s the fact that you have so much confidence to state those opinions while you proudly display your lack of knowledge about what this movie is in the first place. worst of all is your audacity to compare this TRAILER to the greatest showman and the joker. the way you talk about this movie as if it isn’t grounded in its own universe/aesthetic like the greatest showman is so wild. don’t act so confused about the reactions you get for bashing on something that’s so beloved for many.

    • @empty-chair
      @empty-chair หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AnyCastPlus also, your response to all the “whiny theater kids” isn’t helping your case and only solidifies your ignorant attitude. you act as if people are taking away your freedom of speech. nobody’s expecting an apology out of you, in fact i don’t think anyone wants an apology. you receive the energy you put out there and i think the criticism people are giving you for this is a great example of that.

      @@empty-chair The comment above this demands an apology

    • @empty-chair
      @empty-chair หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AnyCastPlus a singular comment from one person expecting an apology means that all the whiny theater kids are demanding one and infringing your freedom of speech? try again. besides "the greatest showman" and "joker" being the extent of your knowledge of musicals, you clearly made no effort to do any research about this movie or the broadway show. people are expectedly trying to educate you but you're acting like it's a battle because you want to be right so bad when you don't even have to say you're wrong, it just takes less energy to have an open mind. your community isn't your enemy. you asked what was so embarrassing and i answered. i pointed out your response to the criticisms you've received and you can't help but double down. don't act clueless now that your comment is edited. you can say that a movie "looks trash", but you shouldn't get defensive when people call out your bold statements which are accompanied with your apathy. the like to view count ratio on this video speaks volumes.

      Everyone has been waiting for this movie since 2006. Just say you don’t know the story and move on. This movie is definitely not going to fail especially given the high praise it has gotten already without it even being out. And also having a world famous star Ariana grande. You’re delusional if you think this movie would fail especially given the names attached to it. Wicked is one of the world most famous musicals ever so anything with wicked name attached to it is bound to do well and be good. And if you think the movie looks incredibly stupid just simply don’t watch the movie 🤷‍♀️ it’s simple but to claim that it won’t do well is absurd.

      Do you know Wicked’s STORY? Pair that with gorgeous sets and the amazing presence of Cynthia ERIVO as Elphaba (aka The Wicked Witch of the West). ERIVO is a BROADWAY STAR. Plus. Ariana Grande? Michele Yeoh? Jonathan Bailey? Jeff GOLDBLUM? Wicked is the FOURTH LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY. It’s won many Tonys. Do NOT COMMENT ON SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!
