Love the scenes on the shelf before the game. I managed to see Tony Parks touch the final penalty before ending up 30 feet below where I was standing. What an atmosphere!
I was there that night, absolutely electric and tense, the atmosphere will never leave me. It's such a shame and tragic that Spurs fans under the age of 40 haven't experience anything near that level of joy, and that is solely down to the people that have run Spurs since after that time. Endless bs trading on past glory.
Worksop guy Danny Thomas unfortunately missed a penalty, but to highlight his quality and affection from the Spurs fans, they kept singing "There's only one Danny Thomas"! Great player Danny, such a shame his career was cut short by a nasty tackle from a QPR player. He would have achieved greater things. Hope you are OK Danny.
This final should have been Tottenham v Forest but those cheating Belgians bribed the ref in the Semi! The fact that Anderlecht eventually lost on penalties, the cruelest way possible, was the ultimate karma.. :-D
It's funny when Brits only notice cheating on their teams. In the quarter-finals, the referee awarded Anderlecht two unfair penalties in Brussels against Spartak. The Belgians cheated in all home matches of that season. If Spartak had reached the semi-finals, most likely it would have played in the final against Tottenham.
The music! The Shelf! The old Lane!!! Brings on the man tears. Shame I was 9 years old when this happened and I only thought then that winning the FA Cup at Wembley mattered

Yes it was a terrible injustice for Forest.Thank god they didn't buy the referee for either of the 2 games in the final.
