I am looking high and low for a video on how to replace toner on an M148fdw. The insides of mine don't look anything like what's in this video. It's hard to get decent information from HP. Still, it could be worse, I could still be stuck with my p.o.s. Brother printer.

I have a samsung SCX-3201G Printer and it has the same system for the cartridge removal, pretty helpful (Also i got my print driver from the HP site)
This was helpful for model mfp m148fdw
When I took out the empty cartridge the printer's "drum" came out with it. Until getting rather frustrated, I realised that the "drum" is a permanent part of the machine and must be put back in (if removed from printer) before inserting replacement cartridge. Also no mention that "orange tab" on replacement cartridge must be removed and disposed of was not mentioned. Overall HP instruction was rushed at the expense of being thorough and clear.

what shall I do to make the printer work again ?
Every replacement toner cartridge I've ever received suggests sending them to be recycled - but there's no guidance or address or anything, so they go in the bin.
I would return them to be recycled if I could. (M203dn)
What about the tape coming out of the toner cartridge? You didn't mention that.

@@HPSupportCould you not just simply tell us whether or not we should pull out the tape completely? Leave it in where ink starts showing? I had to look through generic TH-cam videos to find one at least showing the tape being pulled out all the way but not one actually tells us to do that. Why make us go to your website when this is a simple question? Yes or no.
I'm just wondering why no such description is included in the manual.

Can you take the cartridge out when it is still full? I bought this printer, took a look into the cartridge placement zone and pulled the handle slightly. It didn't go out. I've noticed, the cartridge is kept in place by some plastic arms which can move up and down slightly but are held in place by some strong coil.
+Alex Yes. You can take out the cartridge even if it is full.
I just bought and took the risk of pulling the plastic arms back as I can and it works. Pull back both arms which makes a loud as sound and then you will be able remove the cartridge
Video was perfect however my problem relates to HP recommendations for replacement cartridges.- Replaced ink cartridge 17A with 19A which doesn’t fit HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn - how do I resolve this issue with HP?

I just bought a " refurbished" LaserJetPro MFP MT130fn. I can't get the cartilage to come out, there are 2 plastic " arms" blocking the movement. What should I do??

@@HPSupport there are plastic “bars” on the existing cartridge that prevent it from pulling out, I feel like I will have to break them, they are attached next to metal coils.
Everything in the video is so obvious, one wonders why they bother. But the three tricky crucial steps in the middle of the process are said nothing about. From memory, one is supposed rock or shake it a bit, then remove the plastic strip. Cut it???? And there is the orange plastic ring - I don't remember anything about such a thing, What to do????

When you install one move it like your dipping your wings back and forth, slowly. This will distribute the toner. Do this too when you get a low toner light, it will provide more time and copies. I know this from reading the manual online, unfortunately I didn't set up the printer and can't get it open to clear a jam. We all love HP. Better manuals would help.
Ao does this printer print any colored prints ? Or is it just b&w ?

How to fix error code 57.00.03 hp m551
+Mari Belajar Turn the printer off, then on.
Check the duplex fan in the rear door sub assembly.
Remove and reconnect (J13L) on door assembly and connector (J13) on the DC controller PCA.
If the error persists, replace the door assembly which contains the duplex fan FM2.
Rear door part number: RM2-6746-000CN
Rear door (LCD Simplex) part number: RM2-1249-000CN

@@HPSupport I meant that the video failed to mention to remove the orange piece on the side and pull out the long strip otherwise it won’t work. I only knew to do that since I’ve replaced an ink cartridge before in a different printer- but you should probably mention that. My poor 68 year old father started cussing at the printer 🙄

HP Support i was given a 3015 A12 toner cartridge for what should have been an A55 for a P3015...

. This is why I choose ho...back I. The day when I ordered for the government I always got hp...they were always on pre-approved lists..along with some really crappy ones...but that been 25 years ago..almost to the day now.

The (Toner) Print Cartridge box for the HP 17A has visual instructions for removing the cartridge.
The HP 17A toner cartridge has visual installation instructions printed on the cartridge itself.
Step 1. is to do something with the toner cartridge 5-6 times.
Step 2. is to install the toner cartridge.
NOWHERE IN THIS OFFICIAL VIDEO IS THE STEP 1. "5-6" ACTION DISPLAYED OR EXPLAINED.

I’ve used my cartridge 3.5 years including through three exhausting tax returns and not a blip. The “replace cartridge” message has been showing for a full year but I just kept printing to my heart’s content until last night when I tried to print out an airline ticket. Suddenly fade lines from top to bottom. I could probably “shake” back and forth and get even more copies but I bought 2 cartridges a year ago so I’m putting in a new one just in time for the next tax returns. 😤🤮 Ignore the “replace cartridge” pop up and keep printing. It’s a ploy to get your money before it is necessary.

The message is intended as a warning only so you can have a replacement cartridge available and avoid possible printing delays. That "toner low" message sounds a lot like a 2001-2002 HP LaserJet 4100n.
