Loved the Royal Jesters music, harmonies, arrangements, style, real brass and song choice, this is my favorite album of theirs. I was in Seattle during this time, Tejano was evolving and we were loving it.
Yea. Every time I hear a Royal Jesters song it takes me back to my younger days. Riding around with all my friend in our hot rods, racing them, going to the big Tejano dancing places in Houston. This was back in the 70' s
The Royal Jesters have left their mark musically forever. I always wonder if they knew completely of their impact. Especially for the fact that they would be making more money if they played together. I'm talking of the 70s version of the band. Plus they would have recorded much more music. PLEASE reunite once more. The Jesters were so great. Your fans would love to see you together again.
THAT WAS THE MUSIC OF MY TIME MY ERA THE ROYAL JESTERS HAD SUCH A UNIQUE STYLE THAT NO 1 HAD THEIR HARMONY WAS BEAUTIFUL TO HEAR THEM SING ,THE SONG I KNOW,I KNOW WAS I PREPOSE TO MY WIFE IT JUST HAD ALL THE RT. WORDS SO WE GETTING MARRIED AT THE TIME THAT CAME OUT, AND THEN HERE COMES TIERRA WITH THEIR HIT TOGETHER THAT WAS MUSIC THAT U WANTED TO COME BACK TO ERA WE'RE LIVING NOW ,THERE WERE SO MANY GOOD BAND'S OUT THERE MUSIC TO HERE R MUSIC THAT U COULD DANCE ALNIGHT LONG.MANY THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE BANDS (LOVE D 60'S N 70'S )
The Royal jesters, my best band ever, lots of Chicano sound, early 70s music came out the best, there were lots bands came out, little joe and Royal Jesters and Tortilla Factory at that time Ruben Romos was coming out with texas R.. But the Royal jesters was a powerful band.
The best, unfortunately didn't get air play or exposure. Like many tejano bands or individuals in Mexican stations they're no enough mexican and in the US no air play because they're Mexican! Not a racial statement but the truth. Many don't even support them when they have concerts in your areas. Again because you haven't heard this beautiful creative artist.
My feelings exactly. They weren't and still aren't as appreciated as other Tejano bands and they were the birth of this fabulous sound. My brother, Victor Alvarado, trumpet player on all of their albums, certainly was not appreciated as other trumpet players. He went to his death waiting to be invited to play at the Tejano Music Awards. This March 20, 2023 will mark the 30th anniversary of his untimely death. He recorded on the song Backfield In Motion with Mel & Tim, while stationed at Scott AFB, MO with the Air Force Band and also had the opportunity to sit in with Ike & Tina Turner.
I got turned into the royal jesters by my friend join Valdez and her mom jo Ann Valdez what harmonies I love tejano music I'm from norte califas but beautiful music lives forever
