- What if humans lived for 400 years? Let's imagine that our lifespan could get over four times longer. That would be a long adventure! How would it effect out health and after how many years would we become teenagers? The more scientists learn about our age, the more questions arise. Let's answer some of them.

I have never noticed how much limitation I have put into my life goals just because we humans will die before the age of 100.. if I had at least 300 more years to live.. I would learn and try almost everything I have ever wanted 💔

Yeah sure, cos the 1500s onward, till around the year 1800, life expectancy throughout Europe hovered between 30 and 40 years of age, now you have it doubled and still not enough. Wait till you get 300 years of lifespan and after 10 generations your grand grand children will wish they could live 1000 years.

@@Tienuyan the human body has a limit and it isn't necessarily that our lifespan increased we already have a ticking clock inside our bodies but people in the past lived less because they died prematurely by disease
@@animeluver22113 yeah if we somehow find a way to increase our lifetime quadruple, there would be another block in the way, the brain can handle only around 300 years until we run out of memory, (yes we don’t have infinite space), after 300 years you’re gonna talk gibberish cuz you wouldn’t even remember anything from your past

My grandpa is actually about to be 73 years old in about 25 min from now and he is still going. He may not be running but he still walks fast for his age and does lots of outside work.

One day I believe there will be a time where our lifespans will increase. I pray that day will come.
I mean they have increased. Just not so drastically as is shown here. Before the industrial revolution you'd be lucky to hit 60, and that's not including infant mortality, which brings that number down to mid-late 40s.

wow, This video is really, well.. really fascinating, Bright side makes amazing videos for us, just saying that if I lived for 400 years, I would literally, be a teacher, own a shop, get a car (basically means getting a drivers license), and studying for about 100 years, and in the 300 years I would, become an artist, learn the techniques of biology, go on 1 vacation a year, and I will stay 24 hrs in a shop.

Hold on. Development aging and growing old and wrinkly are two different things. Even for slow developers the life span stays the same. Aging is an effect of wear and tear. Growing wrinkly is not written into our development.

Moses died at 120, Abraham at 175 and Noah's granddad Methuselah at 969 years old. I'm not surprised when I saw this video. But it would be wonderful to live that long though like Methuselah to witness how life passed when he was 400 during his time.

Who knows, the future can hold living for 400 years. I am turning 31 next month. Although I have seen how our lifetime is 120 years. There are trees that do live for so long. I can be confused as to whether we humans should just enjoy the best of our lives of 120 to 125 years, or have our lives be extended. Yes, I want to live to be 120 years old, to live until the end of 2112. I have learned languages and have become a nudist, two life goals I have. Living for four centuries would mean seeing many descendants, and it seems wonderful. I am glad to be living longer than in the past, when diseases would lead to many early deaths. I find our lifespan of being more than just 70 to 90 years. I can have my more distant descendants live to turn 400 years old.
Fun fact: The oldest animal in the world is an immortal jellyfish. It can live forever!
