My favorite film version of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW is in the Walt Disney film THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD. That film is the most true to the Washington Irving story and it's depiction of Ichabod Crane. It was that film which was my inspiration to explore and find the settings of the tale. Several years ago I did just that. Traveling all the way from California I had quite an adventure as I went in search of Sleepy Hollow. I was thrilled to find some remnant of the Dutch history including Phillipsburg Manor and the Old Dutch Church and cemetery. Looking forward to again visiting one day.
Taking the train from New York City (The Hudson line) to Tarrytown is convenient and quite scenic 50 minute ride. Add about a 15 minute walk and you're in Sleepy Hollow!
I really fell in love with this area, there are so many things to do and see during fall season. Thanks for the stream and enjoy the rest of your day in Sleepy Hollow ❤
I live right around the corner, it’s funny watching you explore my neighborhood. We moved here in 1995 when the village was North Tarrytown. In 1996 we voted to re-name the village Sleepy Hollow to differentiate from Tarrytown although we still share the same zip code. Enjoy our little hamlet - it does get busy in the Fall.
I read a dutch name in that tomb with the door open and the gate closed. From the 1700 That person still has dutch cousins maybe his family with the same name today. In the netherlands. You can look it up in a search engine.😊
My brother and I visited the cemetery a few years back and took the “lantern light tour”. It was a great way to tour the cemetery. We got to see the crypt they used for Dark Shadows and all the rich people’s crypts and memorials. We had a great time, though the tour is really long.
It's fascinating to grow up with the book, movies, and even animated movie. And to know that it's a real place you can visit. Even though the story is mostly fiction, the town is real. I Got to go someday. definitely a bucket list place to see.
Hi Ariel, just catching up now, good reason to have missed the livestream - I've been out practicing on my broomstick, I'll be super fast on Halloween now 👻🎃🦇🧹🧙♀️😂
I used to come here to fix computers 40 years ago when it was North Tarrytown. It was the only place I visited where the building's telephones were a different area code than the place it was in. The Pontiac plant's area code was 313 (Detroit). During WW2 they built Wildcats and Avengers there under the name Eastern Aircraft Manufacturing.

haha Susie 😂 loved that one and to put it in a Yoko Ono quote: I think that all women are witches, in the sense that a
witch is a magical being.
