Can he do the job without the meds he requires to stay Trans? Will those meds cause mental and emotional change? Can he go without those meds while in a combat zone? As a pilot, he returns to base or the aircraft carrier after a mission... other service members don't get that luxury.
Doesn't matter of her recovery. His recovery time, it's the recovery time. For years he has to be on medication for the rest of his life and if he doesn't take it they get mentally bent
Our Navy does not need a chemically neutered, mentally unstable distraction. Marines, sure, the unstable part, they rock that, but the rest of that nonsense - no.
The main issue about not being fit is the fact these individuals are going through surgeries. Each surgery takes time to heal therefore they cannot be deployed. So the military would have to make special arrangements for that soldier to be somewhere else while their unit is deployed. It’s not like an on the job injury. Changing your gender and going through cosmetic procedures is a choice not mandatory. If all these accommodations have to be made for one soldier how is that beneficial? People fail to realize you are a soldier in a UNIT you train, deploy and fight as one unit.
I could see arguing for trans people in the military if the elephant in the room (the fact that suicide rates, even long after social and medical transition are still 40+%) weren't a thing. The military will flat out kick you out for even suicidal ideation in many cases, especially if you are a cop because it requires you to disarm. The military won't let you join if you've EVER had depression or anxiety. If they wanted trans people to join it would imo, have to be limited to individuals who are already out of the closet and limited to jobs that have low rates of deployment or do not deploy. Imo the military should not accept people who stay in the closet until they join (in order to force the military to pay for their transition), and transitioned members should still be marked with, and use sensitive facilities with their biological sex. In general, if the military is going to have to shell out for any chronics illness that you KNOW about when attempting to join, it should be limited to minor OTC treatable ones. Medical transition should be just like a diagnosis of depression or anxiety - you get medically separated and imo it should not net you a disability rating.
So how much of the time served by this individual was done while identifying as a man vs as a "woman". Next flying a plane and landing back on base is far different than serving in infantry on the lines for weeks at a time .
Your taxes pay for their transition!! Their salaries are paid with taxpayers money!! Do you have free healthcare? My son was discharged because of shin splints during his AIT, after graduating from basic training!!
Nope. The dude ìs talking about low non deployability time is only for the ones who don't elect for major surgeries. Also, a month of non deployable status, several times adds up.
The main problem is during the duration of their transition, they are non-deployable. This is a readiness problem, as well as a problem going before the same selection boards as deployable members. The Navy Commander is being disingenuous by cherry picking a few individual cases as if this is the norm.
"Not sure how being trans makes one more able to connect with other soldiers" It doesn't. That's a crock of bovine fecal matter. If anything, his subordinates were scared to tell him anything he didn't want to hear. "Oh, yes, Commander... You ARE inspiring. Oh, absolutely you are a great leader." On the other side of that, his superiors were forced to play along, otherwise they risked punishment from the Top Brass. Basically, everyone was forced to look at a naked emperor, and praise the expertly tailored clothes that everyone knew didn't exist. No wonder dude's delusion is so firmly in place.
Did they transition after they qualified for the military? I think it’s a valid question. I’m pretty sure I heard most surgeries disqualify you for service and there is always the risk of these service members losing access to their medications. It’s not about not recognizing their service or sacrifice. It’s about protecting them and their other service members. Blaire White has a super based opinion on this, when she decided to transition she did so knowing not every space and avenue would be open to her. Wish more people thought like this
As someone who was born into the military and lived in it for decades, I'll let you know that trans people are very low on the "people we should worry about being in the military" list.
i don't give a crap if you can pass the tests, if the insanity that you bring screws up the uniformity, coherence, and willingness of the other recruits or already acting service members to continue to serve, then, NO.
The government has been paying for elective procedures for years. That is another of the possible issues. That said I'm in the camp of, "if you can pass the test then you can serve".
Serving in the military is widely considered a privilege, but being 'qualified' to serve is subjective. I feel bad for this person, but hey... Larry Bird can't basketball anymore either, we all move on, time to do something else with your life.
In all honesty, i was in the army, we had a female sergeant. She was tough as hell, just as strong as a man. The difference was that she kind of took care of us and going away for weeks in the forest was a blast with her leading us. With a male command it was different and things became more macho. I think in a war situation we would have been better with the female sergeant. Sex doesnt matter. Distraction doesnt matter. The only thing that matter is that all personell are judged by the same standard.
If you want to serve, serve. Great. If you affect mission readiness, if you can’t be deployed, if you cause a problem within your command, then you cannot serve. If you require a consistent supply of medications, you are a liability. If you can do it without being a problem, you also have to pay your own way through your transition. It’s a change YOU want to make to your body and not medically necessary.
There were a couple of things missing from that report. One. You paid for her transition. Two. She never really replied to what about medications that by the way you also pay for. Just striving for complete reporting here
Gotta ask, what bathroom do they use? I feel if you want to protect and serve this country, you should be able to. It's never that simple though... lots of discussions need to be had.
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 My personal opinion is, if it is against the military’s guidelines that have long been in place (not something new), then sadly if that was followed, the Cmdr/others would never have been allowed in for this to even be an issue. Otherwise, I agree with you, if they pass any/all test/examinations, go for it, especially if they are like the Cmdr, going by this video, I see someone who is composed, straightforward, no drama, the drama is one of the main things that causes distractions. Have a safe and wonderful weekend, 👋🙂👋
Unfortunately Officers, especially commanders have a great professional face. They’re being interviewed on a large platform, you can’t assume the type of person by a simple interview. Who knows how the unit feels about the commander.
I didnt make it into the military when i was 18 due to my weight. I weighed 200lbs at 5'11" they wanted me to get to 180lbs but i couldn't due to the fact I was a weight lifter, and all muscle it was physically impossible to get to that weight for me.
Mr Boyd, I appreciate that you are willing to hit these hot topics. I also appreciate that you have the confidence to say, "I don't know; I am ignorant of this topic." (Not just in this video; you consistently let us know when the topic isn't something that you've really considered before). Having the confidence and ability to admit that is a sign of great intelligence. I enjoyed watching you, in "real time" (in a sense) seriously contemplate both sides of the argument, giving the topic some real thought. And here's the deal, whatever you come up with, I know that you put real, critical thought into it, and the opinion that you form will be YOUR opinion. I greatly respect that, and that's why I value your opinions on various topics, even when we are in disagreement. I also heavily respect your commitment to remaining tactful. Tact is something that our society is losing rapidly, so thank you, so much, for being a champion for The Return of Tact.
Service members get separated for PTSD, and that's not great for those individuals either. But the military doesn't exist to help people love themselves. The military exists to be a protector of our citizens, our land, and our assets. Go somewhere else to be accepted as you are. The military is not the place for that, but the military exists to keep you safe while you find a little corner of the country where you feel accepted.
This is a personal action to transition. If it is at zero cost to the tax payer, has zero deployment impact and does not impact your ability to meet and maintain the physical requirements of the job.... Then it isn't a problem in my mind. But that goes for any job with physical requirements. I don't care who carries me out of a burning building and what they identify as. Just get me out.

They should also be forced to work your first year in their actual MOS instead of automatically being given admin Billets like 99% of them are.
I went searching and for those wondering as far as I can tell Cmdr. Shilling was Trans in name only while serving and didn't get the cosmetic changes done until after they got out.
That's tidbit of info is INCREDIBLY important. CNN's failure to include that, just shows their commitment to deceit, and their desire to destroy the United States.
Can he do the job without the meds he requires to stay Trans?
Will those meds cause mental and emotional change?
Can he go without those meds while in a combat zone?
As a pilot, he returns to base or the aircraft carrier after a mission... other service members don't get that luxury.
How can somebody with a mind thats confused be a commander? Let him get a retest to test him out.
I'm not even military, but I fully grasp the concept of a unit, and how certain things are detrimental to the unit.
Because if you in listed as a man then it make sense you passed all the necessary training that was required.
Think about it people our flag we repersent is red white and blue not rainbow or black so real americans unite with on flag
The main problem is during the duration of their transition, they are non-deployable. This is a readiness problem, as well as a problem going before the same selection boards as deployable members. The Navy Commander is being disingenuous by cherry picking a few individual cases as if this is the norm.
Hearing her speak without seeing her and then seeing her after having heard her speak is a very disturbing sight
They decide what of the two things is the most important to them.
No doubt those tours were done prior to all the hormones and such.
5:42 - not sure how being trans makes one more able to connect with other soldiers
"Not sure how being trans makes one more able to connect with other soldiers"
It doesn't. That's a crock of bovine fecal matter.
If anything, his subordinates were scared to tell him anything he didn't want to hear. "Oh, yes, Commander... You ARE inspiring. Oh, absolutely you are a great leader."
On the other side of that, his superiors were forced to play along, otherwise they risked punishment from the Top Brass.
Basically, everyone was forced to look at a naked emperor, and praise the expertly tailored clothes that everyone knew didn't exist.
No wonder dude's delusion is so firmly in place.
Being diagnosed with anxiety can keep you from joining the military!!
Did you know that the physical exams are different for women then for men? (It's much harder for men.)
It's almost like men subsidize there existence in the fact that they get paid the same to do less.
i don't give a crap if you can pass the tests, if the insanity that you bring screws up the uniformity, coherence, and willingness of the other recruits or already acting service members to continue to serve, then, NO.
Just striving for complete reporting here
DEI strikes again 🤔
It's more than one test it's multiple tests on a daily basis
I thing the issue here is that if the government that is against trans people don't want to offer transition and sex change care for trans soldiers
They made her a test pilot because it's a high risk job. That wasnt a promotion. Look at Maverick in Top Gun 2 😂
The idea that a small handful of them getting the boot will take decades to fill shows that he dude with long hair is completely delusional.
If you're a soldier already, why not wait to you're out of the military to transition
Gotta ask, what bathroom do they use? I feel if you want to protect and serve this country, you should be able to. It's never that simple though... lots of discussions need to be had.
Hello 👋
Another awesome video, 👍👍
My personal opinion is, if it is against the military’s guidelines that have long been in place (not something new), then sadly if that was followed, the Cmdr/others would never have been allowed in for this to even be an issue.
@ 👍🙂👍
Thanks, I meant to add, just going by this video, 👍🙂
The man with a wig talks very highly of themselves, I wonder what the unit think. Especially the jr enlisted
You can't serve if you have medical issues. Put them on the front lines, don't let them lead.
Wait just a second here... the trans WOMAN was given an award for being the best airMAN?? Ok, if she didnt fuss about that, maybe she's ok. 😂
My daughter's friend is ADHD, and she could not join if on medication.
Think about all the medications these people take on The Daily
