Found out a few days ago that Mr. Hudson passed away in March and decided to make him this memorial video of one of his original compositions that he wrote for the band - M4 into M4 Remix. This original tune is one of the most recognizable in HBCU marching band history. I knew him personally and we would often discuss bands and the arduous process of recording them. Always great chatting with Mr. Hudson especially during the times PVAMU and UAPB faced each other in 2015 and 2016. He served UAPB and M4 for more than 40 years and was a die heart fan of his beloved Alma Mater. Rest on "Hud"... 1962-2020. I captured this video in 2016 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas when UAPB faced JSU. If it had not been for Mr. HUD and getting me a media pass at the last minute I would’ve not made it into the game, thanks Hud! Rest on 🙏🏼
Oh man am I glad to find this. Prof. Hudson volunteered as the band director for my high school. I learned everything I know about music from him. He would direct our band while playing his super-rare valve trombone to keep us in time. He was a man of legendary talent and we were blessed to have him with us . RIL Big Hud!
