This is almost an exact copy of the Drumeo series, down to the structure and editing. You obviously have what it takes to be a content creator, and specifically drum content, just need your own fresh ideas. It's hard cause the Drumeo format has pretty much all you would want from this type of idea. Maybe instead of picking super famous songs like Drumeo does you could pick surprising underground ones or something.

In highschool I was really only a rap/metal guy (I was one of those annoying dudes who said rap is crap). When I finally opened up my self to more music there were so many songs people were absolutely shocked I had never heard before because they were apparently everywhere. I will say listening to all kinds of music has made me a infinitely better musician.

That's exactly what most of other drummers (from drumeo vids), if not all of them, go wrong. Those rock and metal guys just keep playing like crazy... It was amazing to see him having it differently. Not that one is better than the other... it's more about how music can mold our minds, perception and behaviour.

I think if you hear what the bass is playing it doesn't fit. But he killed it with the rest of the song. Specially in the bridge where he left space for the vocals to shine.
drumeo had a killer idea with this,, and i think its all good for you guys to do the same thing, and respect for making sure people know Drumeo are the OG's

Not a surprise that a young guy from Georgia would hear the rap part and play it in half time. He'd be right on the money for a lot of modern hip hop and trap music.
I feel like the hardest part in this series is finding players who haven't heard the songs that everyone else hears in their heads on repeat. The fact that Larnell Lewis has never heard Enter Sandman in his life, even in passing, is genuinely impressive. Also, this guy's timing is unreal. With the half time and fills with no click reference. He's as tight as a metronome.

It doesn't matter if it's just like Drumeo, you guys are opening space for other drummers and giving visibility to their work. It's a great format, I enjoy watching on Drumeo and I'll also enjoy watching it here. You gave their credits, I think this is enough. It doesn't need to be unique.
The smoothness is so clean and I feel it accentuates the song. Also, I can't hate on the Drumeo-type content. One channel cannot possibly showcase all the talent that's out there. I hope you get a partnership with Drumeo versus forced to employ a gimmick just to not get sued or canceled. Great video. Excellent performance.❤🙏
I love hearing Gospel drummers playing other styles. They have this way of knowing how to create tension and make parts really lift. This man did not come to play around. Professional.
This video is testament to how important the drummer is to the feel of the song. The slower tempo at the beginning, the lack of playing in the centre where Chester sings, were such amazing changes. It really gave the song a different vibe, and it was all the better for it. Thanks for such a great video!
The way he simplified the verses initially made the song feel more haunting. Really cool. I bought this album the day it came out! Make more content like this, please. Drumeo is excellent, but First Listens are addicting, I could watch them everyday.

This guy is amazing. His take on the rhythm for this song was ingenious. I love this concept for TH-cam content and hope that more studios start doing it.
Aside from the beginning and ending fills adding so much, the same can be said when he just allowed Chester's voice to shine. Both songs are powerful in their own unique way. EJ crushed this, and I think Chester would enjoy this version a lot.
This was absolutely incredible! The fills were so clean and tasteful. I really enjoyed the half time verses and the break during the bridge. He plays with passion and high energy while staying accurate and technical. He respected the feel of the song while adding his own vibe to it without but not over the top. Also, thank you for the Drumeo shout out and I hope you guys do more of these!

Gospel drummers are the best drummers hands down. always so much flavor and outside the box approach to playing. I come for the metal and hardcore world and I always wanted to have a gospel drummer for my projects.

I think this video just goes to show how fun this format is. You never know how far the music takes a performer. He looked like he had so much fun! It's also great how he utilized not playing in the middle there, where most drummers i think would try to fill the space. Keep this going!

EJ crushed it. Cutting the tempo in half really changed the tone of the lyrics, and giving Chester room towards the end was inspired.
