- We have been renovating this 2005 Wildwood 31ft camper over this past few weeks, and JUST moved into it full time. While we are finishing up renovations, we will be living on our friend’s farm in East Tennessee. I will also share an exciting update on our Florida house!

Yeah, we did end up lowering the price.
Good job getting it done almost according to schedule. As long as its livable you can catch up on the other work. I wouldnt choose to live in such a small space but I realise you do have a lot of outdoor space to move around in.
You can exhale after the house sells. It's great being able to move forward. The past year has been action-packed. It will be interesting to see what it is like to live in an RV during the winter.
The beauty of having a moveable home is they can just move somewhere warmer when the weather gets cold.

So great to hear from you again! I kept checking to see if you’d posted. Frankly, I was kind of worried if everyone was OK. (Our extended family got back from Gatlinburg a few weeks ago and just about everyone has been sick.) So happy about your mutually beneficial living arrangement on your friend’s homestead.

I had the nasty cold/thing that has been moving thru our area and family along with RSV, which is scary with little ones 2 and under. We found that generic Claritin with generic Benadryl has been extremely helpful, is once a day for Claritin every 4-6hr for Benadryl and doesn’t cause drowsiness or keep you awake. Less expensive than DayQuil and I have the other 2 on hand due to allergies.
Must be the same bug. I’m wondering now if the youngest ones had RSV. Whatever it is, it’s been long lasting for the children and adults. Thanks for the suggestions on the meds. Hope your family is doing well now.

Love these videos! My partner and I moved into our camper full time about two years ago and still needing to renovate a lot! My partner got in a terrible wreck two days after moving into our rv then found a gas leak, roof leaking, electrical issues, no hot water for over 4 months and then losing my girlfriends younger brother in a car accident it has felt like we have been living in a construction zone without being able to get any renovations done. We haven’t been able to do renovations in the rv park and struggling to find anyone with land we can park and finish building while living a slower lifestyle off the land. Your videos really helped my partner get a grasp of some big renovations we need to get done on our camper! Curious what you total renovation cost started

Today going to putty in all the cracks we sanded out, with fiberglass Bondo. I am so happy for you. Also went totally plant based and I feel so much better. Space the videos out but cannot wait to see them. Helps encourage me on mine.

Looking out the window behind you, it looks like a snow covered farm! (Lol! Thank goodness it's an optical illusion for now!) There's a book I want to read (historical fiction -- WWII-era): "The Last Bookshop in London", by Madeline Martin. Glad your home in FL is under contract! You will save money staying where you are for awhile. Awesome opportunity and your kids will love the farm life, I'm sure. Everything is coming up Wildflowers, I'd say!

I recommend parking some of the house money in I-bonds and if you don’t have long term plans for the money, in a high yield savings account. I love checking out passiv houses so that would be cool to see. I also like the green cabinets-super vibrant. Are you guys going to set up solar on your RV?

Praying for a smooth closing on your house❤️ Lots of options for you to consider. I’d replenish the emergency account and with CD’s at a high, I’d land some in there. You could even stager the CD’s
Also consider Treasurydirect.gov. CDs are usually based on government bonds/bills. By using TreasuryDirect you are cutting out the middleman and buying directly from the government. These bonds/bills are exempt from state taxes (interest). Additionally, if a bank has trouble it won’t effect you. You still direct the money and it is easily transferred in and out of your bank account, obviously not during the bond/bill time but when it rolls out of the bond/bill. Worth investigating if you are considering CDs. I would recommend you consider a ladder, but that’s up to you.

Glad the house situation will be done soon. One worry over. Housing market terrible here in Florida. I was curious how you were doing. We really don’t like being isolated regarding having a house way in the country. How are you hooked up there with water and electricity? Sewer? When you start going on the road, are you going to be boondockers or prefer campgrounds? Glad you’re doing well. Till next time.
I will go into more detail in a video soon, but right now we are hooked up to electric, water can be either hook-up or our tank, and we are doing a composting toilet instead of sewer. We definitely prefer boondocking vs rv parks. We are in a great spot to test everything out right now before we start moving around!
@@raisingwildflowersif you decide to stay the winter consider getting bales of hay/straw to put as a temporary wall around the rv as insulation from cold winds, negates the need for skirting. You can cover the wall with tarps if needed or you want to resell it, but unusable animal hay/straw work ok.
Starlink, and a (gas hog) SUV or truck to pull the camper. Enjoy your new digs!

Have your girls moved into the camper too now? I would be interested in how everyone likes living in the camper. Like a right now first impressions then maybe an update in a few months or something. (I understand the teens may or may not want to be in the video, which is fine. But maybe they would be okay with telling you their thoughts/opinions and then you telling us in a video). I think it would be interesting to get a real life view of the camper life from different members of the family as they may have differing views or they may love/hate different things about it. But then it would be interesting to see if those thoughts change as time goes on. :-)

The Inheritance Games (book 1) - I was craving a fun young adult book series to relax and enjoy. I would recommend and am looking forward to the 2nd book in the series! My favorite books is a great video idea ❤️

Remember to check with tax person because I'm pretty sure if you don't roll the money made off of a home sale into another home within a certain amount of time you will have to claim it as income and pay big taxes on it.
If your gain is less than $250,000 for a single person or $500,000 per couple, there is capital gains tax on your Federal taxes. Over $500,000 there is capital gains but I don’t know the rate as it has never applied to me, lol.

@@debbieframpton3857 2 years. I believe they exceeded the 2 years. You are thinking of the 1031 exchange 5 yr rule which is for investments not homeowners. It must be your principle home, not a 2nd home.
It is 2 years and 500K, so we will not have to pay capital gains tax 👍
It's 2 years out of the last 5 years that it has to be your personal residence.
Congrats! We sold 3 homes tax free that way after we built them.
You seem to be a nice person, but you are really putting your kids through a very tough life. Your husband needs to get a "real" job and find a stable place for you to live. You are not alone. You have kids. They deserve a stable home.
This may be the only video you have watched, but I have watched many and she specifically said they came to this decision as a family. She didn’t decide it herself and force it in her husband and the teens. I guess you could say the baby didn’t have a choice though.
