Not only a phenomenal, though under-rated talent, but also a very nice guy. He genuinely was sweet and humble. Still miss ya, Ronno, after all of these years. R.I.P. with your buddies David and Trevor for eternity. :-)
I know a few people from Hull, and I can hear the accent distinctly in Mick: 'werk for work', 'knoah' for 'know' etc. He seemed such a gentle, humble chap. Real rockstar hair and looks. I love the clips of him playing his lake placid blue Telecaster. Such a robust player. I've heard Steve Jones of the Pistols citing him as his fave guitarist. An amazing musician
Ron Flores .......yes he did but what blows me away is his lesser-known work with so many and varied artists throughout his too-short time here. A nice example (I think) is to this day, John Mellencamp credits Mick’s arrangement for the success of his (JM’s) early hit Jack and Dianne. I always thought Ronno’s solo work was better than acknowledged too. Everything from his beautiful work with early Elton John (check Madman Across The Water) through to The Rolling Thunder Revue with Dylan, Mick was always special. Shame we lose all the best ones too soon. RIP Mick Ronson.
Ron Flores I knew Mick when he was in the rats my mum took him in and the Roady and van driver called him taffy they had no where to stay mymums brother was the drummer in the rats called him spud Taylor the year was 1968
I loved Mick Ronson...I saw him when he toured with Ian Hunter...I always felt he always yielded his ego to the creative process and the music...He made have been the most genuine person in a cut throat industry.
I am now getting to the age that all my Rock 'n' Roll heroes had when they passed away. Mick Ronson, Rory Gallagher... and I realize how fucking young they still were. And I miss the old and still good MTV where music and musicians have been the center of the broadcasting. I am sure they would have had at least half a day playing only Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and Chris Cornell related stuff when he died...
If MTV or VH1 ever produce a movie about his life, Rhys Ifans should play as Ronson! He's the most underrated, and underappreciated guitarist of our time!
David ripped him off so bad, it's not even funny. Mick wrote most of the music, did all the arrangements, did most of the production and was the sound of the band.
I love the slide solo on My baby is a headfuck though not everyone here may know it but it is a fantastic piece of work. Also was 46 as he died not long before his birthday.
I STILL say that the Rolling Stones SHOULD have grabbed Ronno when the irreplaceable Mick Taylor quit the group in 12/74. Mott The Hoople had just broken up, Ronno was available (read Bill Wyman's "Rolling With The Stones"), but the Stones stupidly chose R Woodpecker. So...yeah, "Once Bitten Twice Shy" and the brilliant "We Got To Get Out Of Here" might not have ever seen the light of day...but then, by the same token, I do not think that Ronno would have allowed that eternal POS "Miss You" to ever get much further than "Brenda" Jagger's hangover. Still - You are sorely missed, Ronno. And your song "Colour Me" kind of helps me deal with multiple sclerosis every day. I'm sure "as you floated in space....there WAS a smile on your face."
I still remember the first time I heard the the introduction of Space Oddity. Incredible, completely unique. The chords of 'All the young dudes' are some of the most endearing in my mind. Bowie had to break up the band 'cause the kids would kill the man.
Also: Steve Blame. What a way to start a decade. We lost more in the 90ies than we regained. Well, we regained the likes of Sonic Youth and Neil Young, but it's not quite a replacement. Here's to Ronno!
It's one thing to write Moonage Daydream and Time on paper and another thing to put them on vinyl. You can't without Ronno by your side. Eternal respect, shy gardener from Hull.
What a diamond. Totally selfless. These guys had to get by on next to nothing before becoming well known. A shame that in recent years so much stuff is manufactured with little real talent. This guy lived for music and not self glorification.
Joe Riffsky I think Bowie did realize the level of his playing AND appreciated it. His guitar work was such an important part of Bowie's sound, and I think David knew that.
Coming from Hull I can tell you that Ronnos facial features are instantly recognisable as someone from this area. Almost ferrety and angular, there are hundreds of smack heads in this area who look like that but sadly cant play the guitar like he could. If you dont believe me then come to Hull and be aghast at the striking similarity of the local population. Must have been a lot of inbreeding a few hundred years ago.
Ronson was an incredible guitarist and a class act through and through.
Not only a phenomenal, though under-rated talent, but also a very nice guy. He genuinely was sweet and humble. Still miss ya, Ronno, after all of these years. R.I.P. with your buddies David and Trevor for eternity. :-)

My favourite guitarist!!! Everytime I listen to his music, I get goose-pimples. He is beyond awesome :D R.I.P. You legend.
You had it all Ronno! So sad that you didn't break through in your own right but you did remain true to yourself. You are truly missed RIP.
Supremely talented man, sorely missed. RIP Mick Ronson.
Literally carried the Spiders to Fame.
RIP both Mick and David

Agree. And Bowie fucked all of them.
The Dynamic Duo.....never to be seen again in this lifetime...RIP Lads💔🇺🇸
I loved Mick Ronson...I saw him when he toured with Ian Hunter...I always felt he always yielded his ego to the creative process and the music...He made have been the most genuine person in a cut throat industry.
AMEN !!! ❤️
Love Mick. More with every passing year - and it's been a loooot of them already.
💘💘💘
Allt the Young Dudes is one of my favorite Bowie songs and one of the most remarkable guitar riff intros of all time.
His music and personality, truly missed.
Many thanX ronnola... every unearthed video of Mick is a gift. Bless ya...
What a beautiful man, gives me goose bumps to see them together with the spiders. It was also the first concert I ever saw. Dayton. Ohio, hara 😚Arena
an absolute legend... love you mick R.I.P
Love you Mick, sadly missed.
Such a powerful player..truly unique. RIP Mick
brilliant guitarist Mick ronson
Thanks ronnola never seen the interview bits before RIP Mick sadly missed
He was the best guitarist it's one thing writing great riffs and lead parts but to do it within someone else's songs is a different thing altogether!
haunting to know that mick died from liver cancer as well....i hope him and bowie r chillin up in the stars
And also left behind a 15 yr old daughter... :'(

R.I.P.Guitar legend,,,.
A humble man. A genius.
Ronson and Bowie, they're up in heaven having a Jam.
+Lee Johnson
And Trevor Bolder, they're slowly getting the Spiders and Ziggy back together.
If MTV or VH1 ever produce a movie about his life, Rhys Ifans should play as Ronson!
He's the most underrated, and underappreciated guitarist of our time!
Such a huge loss for Music Slaugher on 10th is one of my favourties R.I.P Ronno
He was so good and speciell gitarrist ❤️❤️❤️🦋☀️
Still listen to Mick Ronson and Bowie. Up there in heaven.
WOW I didn't know that Mick Ronson like Bowie died of Liver Cancer.
@wildcatter63 Somewhat worrying yet reassuring for Woody
Legend, one of Hull's few heroes
He was the Blackmore who never quite found his Rainbow. He was that good.
David ripped him off so bad, it's not even funny. Mick wrote most of the music, did all the arrangements, did most of the production and was the sound of the band.
Mick didnt write any Bowies songs. Period. He did arrangements thats all
I love the slide solo on My baby is a headfuck though not everyone here may know it but it is a fantastic piece of work. Also was 46 as he died not long before his birthday.
WE LOVE YOU MICK
Mick Ronson, sadly missed never forgotten.
great guitarist thats why i play LES PAULS THANKS MICK FOR THE GREAT SONGS YOU AND DAVID MADE
3:00 = The escape from a 9 to 5 job ! Thumbs Up !

Ronson didn't play on Space Oddity.
Ronno was so gifted! I don't think Bowie knew what he had until he had fired him. I love Ronno so much!
Bowie didn't fire him. His manager convinced him he didn't need the band so he went solo.
Bowie already was solo. The spiders were his backing band and he didn't need them. It's not like his career suffered without them.
sooo interested in watching anything onhim
Thanks for posting
Rip from Vienna Austria 🇦🇹
What a man. Bowie would be nowt without him
Also: Steve Blame.

I wish Spider of Mars stayed together.
Mick's version of "Slaughter on 10th Avenue" -- genius.
The world miss you Ronnie
i didn't find out until recently that Mick Ronson helped John Mellencamp with the song 'Jack & Diane'. What a talent Mick was...
Solo lui suona cosi',grande!!!
You can't talk about Bowie without mentioning Mick. He was part of Bowie's success, a huge part.
What a diamond. Totally selfless. These guys had to get by on next to nothing before becoming well known. A shame that in recent years so much stuff is manufactured with little real talent. This guy lived for music and not self glorification.
Ronson is an English music legend.
one great DUDE
dont think bowie realized level of micks playing OR apreciated it, taking NOTHING away from bowies talent huge fan of early meteriel
Joe Riffsky I think Bowie did realize the level of his playing AND appreciated it. His guitar work was such an important part of Bowie's sound, and I think David knew that.
Slight exaggeration there, he said it once.
If you can find it, get a copy of Dalbello's CD "Whomanfoursays". Ronson did awesome work on it. ^_^
Steve Blame! Yay!
I wonder if he ever got to meet Ronno! He seemed to be an awesome bloke(without resorting to transatlantic hyperbole).
Kingston-upon-Hull hero
An inspiration to Morrissey Boorer& Whyte 😊
Oh yes, he did!..
With that accent he'd fit in well in Downton Abbey.
So fucking underrated

my next purchase
Always liked Steve Blame
Keith Lemon
