Psalm from the Abyss

At Hwai Ang Methodist Church 怀安堂 - The premier of “Psalm from the Abyss”, also known as “Kyrie Eleison” is a dedication to Kyrie Yong’s seventh anniversary, it was performed on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
It is adapted from the book of Genesis, chapter one, v.1 and 2: “In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep”; and also Book of John, chapter one, v.1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The music describes the creation of God in the beginning and it was a chaotic situation. Darkness emerged and the fall of Adam and Eve followed. We as mankind suffered and experienced sadness. There is only one way to salvation and eternity through the faith in Jesus Christ, and that is demonstrated by the tranquility and calmness at the end of the composition.
