Love the way you used your stamp on Misti upside down. You are talented and love your sense of humor.
You're the best! No, I don't need to recreate the wheel with every card. That's so hard to remember! I, too, love emboss resist. I've seen you do it a number of times and every time the results are beautiful! So let's not stop doing emboss resist! We're good at it, it's satisfying and it looks great!
That background is so soft & beautiful. I love the colors you chose.
Thank you for reminding me ‘ there’s no need to reinvent the wheel’. There was a time when I made ONLY unique. I ended up silvering my hair 😀 I actually used to think, What if people compared the cards I gave them and realized they were the same. 😂
Thanks for the reminder! I spend many hours under pressure trying to come up with something new. Great video!
I love seeing all the different techniques in video, but rarely try them myself. Stuck in a rut? Nope do what you know works! Love the color palette on this card so soothing to me
Sometimes when I try a new technique that is above my skill level, I just get discouraged. But sometimes, it makes me want to keep trying! Still, I like my go to techniques!
Beautiful card and a good reminder that we don’t need tontry to top our last project. Keep it fun!
I love your card, Cathy! This is also a favorite technique for me because I'm terrible at coloring! I also loved your new clear dots because you don't have to try and match the dots to your inks since the color shows through them! Genius!
Love this technique! I love the subtle background combined with the bold die cut. Nice!
Such a cheerful card🌞 We have go-to colors because that's another 'not reinventing the wheel' choice. I also work at quilting😆 Thanks for introducing Un-Do! Low odor & that cap do-hickey...definate pluses. Have a restful weekend, Cathy💙
Love emboss resist and I love your CAS card! Stamping and simple coloring is my go to technique!
Love how simple but effective that card is with the super large (but human sized hand!!!) sized die. You definitely make me smile every time I watch you xxx
Cathy, I’m glad I discovered your TH-cam channel - you seem like a lot of fun to hang out with, even if only virtually. I too love the soft, cool colors, and your card turned out beautifully.
OMG, thank you! I am not sure why I needed to have you say this... but I did. I have most definitely felt pressure to up my card game consistently... but why? Phew! Thanks for taking the pressure off!
What you said really made me think about it and that is what I need to remember!!! I always think I have to do something different and that puts pressure on me that I don't need to do. Thanks so much!!
You are so right, Michele! I also need to remind myself that I make cards not just to cheer up someone else, but to cheer up myself! I'm going to make a stickie note on that point LOL. Happy crafting.
Love your colors. Soft yet vibrant. Love how the gems pick up the colors behind them. And I love UnDo!!! Always have a bottle at my disposal.
Cathy, thank you ink creating such a pretty card w/ink blending and emboss resist. A great reminder to keep it simple.
Love it Cathy! Such a clean and simple look. You always make it look so easy! 💕
Very pretty and lovely colours, twisted citron is my favourite colour too.
Emboss resist is one of my favourite techniques. I also like stamping with VersaMark to make a tone on tone background. Your card is beautiful!
Love the combination of colors
Thanks for reminding me it’s okay to re-use the same favorite technique! Phew! I gotta be okay with that! Loved your card today...those cool colors are so relaxing...like spa colors! 😎
Just beautiful, just love your emboss card
To emboss is BOSS! Simple, clean, timeless !
I look forward to your videos. This comment is off the wall, but you have the prettiest hands. I love that you don’t mind letting us see your not so perfect work. TYFS. Take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
I will take that compliment! lol. My hands look younger than me, I think. I have avoided the sun like a member of the Cullen family for years. I burn, so I pretty much stay out of it. Keeps those hands fresh as daisies! lol.
Lol it sounded like u were ice skating. Slide and glide.lol. What great ideas I didn't think of that..
Thank you for saying that you don’t have “to top” the last card you made! I didn’t realize I was doing that but I was! Your card is lovely.
I enjoy your videos as your voice is soothing. I agree with the concept to stick with what works. Thanks!
Love this card. Thanks so much for sharing this technique! Blessings from Canada! Stay SAFE!
I'm glad your human hand is a normal sized hand;-) great colors, love the subtle pastels
I’m do not consider myself a “stamper” At. All....I only bought a few number/month stamp sets to scrapbook with, but now I find myself browsing your supply lists after watching the videos. You are simultaneously building my confidence and draining my wallet ...but I love it ! 😂😂😂.
You make everything fun!
Cannot wait to see what you have for Halloween and Christmas saying dies!
I like using the emboss resist technique too. I have several comments today because today was a really great tutorial!! really like your suggestion of UnDu. I haven't heard of it before and I am going to find some because it will certainly make some of my little tools a lot less sticky. I have tried stacking sentiments/elements a couple of times but I am not really fond of it. My issue is that I guess I am too messy with the glue. But, often times the sentiments/elements are so thin it is difficult to not get the liquid glue on the edge. I guess I should just practice some more. Finally, I really like those Waffle Flower clear dots. I had some in my cart a while back but then the clear drops I had been wanting came back in stock and I ended up getting them. I am going to put the Waffle Flower dots back in my cart and give them a try. They look VERY convenient! Thanks for always sharing your knowledge.
I will say that spray adhesive is helpful for the thin sentiments! I do it in a box off camera. I was HORRIBLE at lining them up when i first started. I'm getting better!
I also like to use UnDu to get the tape residue off the back of dies....that drives me nuts LOL! Happy crafting everyone!
Such great advice in this video! You're completely right, I'm always fretting about making a card that turned out better than the last one! My goal is to let that go! :)
Beautiful. I adore emboss resist. It’s so easy and beautiful and ink blending is the most therapeutic technique ever. I just bought a tumbled glass distress ink refill because I thought my pad was dry. I’m already wondering what I will do with the bottle when it’s empty because I won’t be able to throw it away.
Hi Kathy, another fab video tutorial, love it! I so wish we could get the sentiments, stamps and dies that you use here in the UK. They are so much better than supplies available here and it’s very expensive to buy SSS dies and stamps online from the US.
My fave go-to technique is probably (?) heat embossing. Still magic. I remember the very first time when a local stamp shop owner taught me to stamp and we did heat embossing. She said that’s often when the angels sing for new stampers.
Love the blending brush caddy. Just ordered that along with glue holder and shammy tray. Thanks.
I love ink blending and I love that beautiful card. The sentiment is wonderful. Thanks for the tip on "gunky" tweezers. I recently bought a new pair but I've been hesitant to use them because I don't want to get them sticky; now I have a solution!
I, like you, tend to try and reinvent the wheel from time to time and it usually doesn't turn out well lol! I'm a clean and simple cardmaking and I'm okay with that!!
What wonderful card! Love the ink blending over that flowery background. I say if the technique works, stay with it. George Strait only sings country songs, right? As usual, my wish list has grown...need some Un Do and some of those fabulous clear accents. How cool! Thanks for sharing!
Oh, one more comment...I thoroughly appreciate the comment about not always trying to outdo the previous card. For some reason, I always think I need to make a better card than the card before.... which is not the same as striving to do better. I often get burned out of trying to "one up" myself. Thank you.
I had messed up the tip of my teflon folder as well. However, I did discover that it can be reworked. If you lay the folder on one of its flat sides near the tip and press it down on a solid surface, or press it down and move it back and forth, then do it to all sides, it will reform the tip. Not perfectly, but it works. I have also used a good nail file, with a really fine grit and "sanded" the edges along the original lines of the folder to recreate the tip. Be sure to use a super fine grit or it will leave deep gouges. I really had no idea how malleable the teflon was, but with enough pressure, you can reshape it as easily as it got out of shape.
BTW, I like your style not only as a card maker, but as a human! You are real and I admire realness.
Beautiful! So many times I wish I had started my background on a panel larger than 4.25x5.5. Great tip!
I love the soft effect you achieved. For some reason, I just never think about the softer approach. I like your tweezer trick too. I keep thinking someone will come out with Teflon or titanium tweezers. In theory sounds like a solution; not so sure if it works in practice.
You're so right, CZ! We need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel every other week. This card is schnazzy and was relatively easy to make. Nice work! By the way, I think we know what you're saying. Insert laughing crying face here.
So cute!
Wheel- reinvention? no! I so agree with you.
With big backgrounds like that? Yeah, no coloring. Whaddaya think I am, some kind of martyr??? No.
Made my own MISTI, cheaper and I am a crafter, after all.
Love your cloth trick, btw.
Ya know, one of the reasons I love watching you, is you're so much like me . Rock on!!
Great card inspiration as usual! And excellent tip with the Un-Do...duh!🤦♀️my tweezers are in desperate need of a de-gunking.
I love the background! I appreciate the extra tips. I hear you talk about a misti. How does it compare to the stamparatus?
I have never used that tool. I started with a MISTI and stuck with it. It's such a smart design!
Such soft, calm colors and pretty card. I freeze and make nothing, trying to come up with the Next Great Card! Thank you for reminding me to stop. Oh, Un-du is magic for undoing, and Goo Gone is a beast - but for other things. I use a tiny alcohol wipe aka prep pad from the drug store on tweezer tips. 100 in a little box for $2.79.
Oh that's a good tip too! I have no wipes presently. Need some, as I use them to clean up my markers when they get messy!
Oh, good idea for the markers! I generally only use Zig Clean Color brushes that don’t get messy generally, but if there’s a mess to be made I’m on it! The wipes I use are only about 1x1.5 inches but handy. And if fast enough - since they dry out quickly - I’ll get some little mark off my glass mat. But I need Un-du in my office/craft room, not just in the kitchen.
Great tip using UnDo! I’ve tried other ways to ungunk my tweezers to no avail. I’ve got some UnDo somewhere....
Love the card. I hate goo gone because of the smell. I had cleaned a cameo mat with it and could never get the small out so will try undo. I like the clear dots because you can color them with copics ect
Sage words of advice: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Love your card :o)
I have not bought some stamps because I couldn't imagine coloring them like the vendor examples! One tip you do quite often that I need to do: taping down the card front before adhering and layering. It is not a good experience to have adhesive all over a large panel in both hands and trying to pin down the flappy front with your elbow!
I also enjoy emboss resist. I never took a class in art, so I have no background in color or design. I find emboss resist less intimidating that other color mediums. Having said that, my craft room is full of water color palettes, chalks and markers , I watch videos hoping to get pointers on how to use them.
Oh yes, I have all the other mediums, too. I just don't use them with as much confidence!
I would like to get a. Die cutting machine. Something to cut out stamp what do u rec please
I use a Spellbinders Platinum 6 and it has been a wonderful machine. I like that it folds up when you aren't using it. It's cute and it works! I have it linked below this video under the SHOW MORE or the small down triangle on a phone.
I also am going to get a Gemini Jr. at some point later this year. I have some wrist issues and am thinking an electronic machine might be good for me!
Thank you for giving me permission not to recreate the wheel! I am going to look into the no glue that you used!😊
