We already saw what Rose and Pearl fusion looks like. Her name is Rainbow Quartz, revealed when young Greg was playing and Rose was singing "What Can I Do For You"
I always wondered one thing... What did Rainbow Quartz think of Greg? I mean, the relationship that Greg had with Rose and Pearl was very different from one another. And since Rainbow Quartz was a fusion of Rose (who loved Greg) and Pearl (who was jealous of him), what was her real opinion on him?
Non-romantic fusions don't really seem to have their own distinct personality in the way that permafusions do, Opal/Sardonyx/Alexandrite always had "together but not" sort of vibes and Sugelite was pure raging catharsis when she was out. Even with Smoky Quartz it still felt like 2 people collaborating every time they showed up in a way that Garnet or even Stevonnie very rarely did, and even then it was only when there was some internal conflict causing them to fall out of sync
@@rafaelmatos5851 If I'm not mistaken, it was said that Rainow Quartz was bipolar, so much that in her debut episode it could be seen that each pair of her eyes showed a different emotion when she looked at Greg, Rose's love and Pearl's contempt against him
This was such a great Amethyst episode, she has always been the one to run away from troubles, to selfishly only care about herself and the most probable to get Steven hurt aside from Pearl when she's having a breakdown. So her putting everything aside for Steven, the one who has been under the most pressure to be like Rose and who feels like he can't talk to the gems because they blame him a bit for her being gone, is massive development as we already saw with Smoky Quartz (and the fact that Amethyst was his first gem fusion says a lot about their relationship).
This episode just shows how history is really written by the winners. Everyone believed that Pink Diamond was the one that created the Human Zoo, when in actuality it was Blue who created it to satisfy Pink's desire to save life on Earth. However, because Pink needed herself to be the villain so that Rose could lead the Rebellion, she let everyone think it was Pink who created it, what quickly became a reality when her lie took roots after she started fighting for both Earth and Gemkind.
Even more considering that in "Your mother and mine" where Garnet's tale about Rose's origins and her interactions with Pink was just a fabrication from Pink herself.
I wonder why Pink didn't fight her rebellion as herself. If a diamond rose up and wanted to stop the tyranny of the other diamonds, then her rebellion would've had a lot more traction and more gems would've joined.
@@christieblanton9313 The other Diamonds didn't take her seriously, remember? All her temper tamtrums are proof of that. If she rose up against them as herself, most likely the Diamonds would put an end to it as quickly as possible. By making a prentend war against herself, she would try to convince the Diamonds to put a stop on the colonization. Even if she was Rose, she would still make her part as Pink and try to use the rebellion as an excuse to shut down the colonization (remember the dream Steven had while on our Moon). Another reason for Pink Diamond to want to become Rose Quartz is because she didn't quite love who she was, she wanted to change and become something new. That was also the reason why she wanted to have Steven.
@@christieblanton9313 Who do you think gains more traction during a rebellion? A slave who stood up against her masters, or a slave master who says she changed her mind? The whole point of "Rose Quartz" at first was so she could do whatever she wanted without being called an authority, by the time the rebellion was happening, she already had a name and reputation, changing into Pink Diamond would have shattered the trust of everyone, making her a fraud. Like, if you're standing up against Diamonds, you're not going to most likely WANT to be under a Diamond. She was originally going to just scare all the gems off the planet, but she can't do that as Pink Diamond.
This is why Amethyst is my favorite in the series besides Steven Her development is incredible from start of the series to now She went from being underappreciative of her own worth, thinking she's a mistake, that she has to prove to be like a real quartz, that she has to be like Jasper All that developed through her friends and How they see her as who she is On top of that Her meeting the other Earth Amethysts in the Human Zoo made her connect with her other family, Famethyst And she started seeing how worthy she was without need for mask, like Purple Puma Now here she does what no one did in this series so far Ask Steven how he feels about himself, Rose, and the entire circus that is his life The rare moments where he stood for his feelings(Peridot Warp machines when no one believed him or when Greg was kidnapped) He almost died because he stood up for himself And probably started stopping to open to others In this episode Amethyst finally asked him what was important but also didn't put her trauma/past on him and instead tried to help him instead of being the one Steven helps like always
It's supposed to be our Amethyst, but there's actually a continuity error here. In Too Far, Peridot said that, based on her examination of the hole, Amethyst emerged five hundred years after the others. Since the scene of Pink Diamond visiting the Prime Kindergarten takes place before there was any "thousand year" rebellion, according to NWOFA's version Amethyst would have emerged right in the middle of the war, and if she emerged before the Corruption Nuke she would have been corrupted along with all other active Gems.
I remember when ep 19 aired I was watching with my roommate and friends, baked out of my fucking mind and probably about to start my period cuz the scene where Sapphire basically calls Ruby dumb made me BALL MY EYES OUT. I felt so attached to these characters and their relationships and I remember crying during the commercial break, “But can you imagine how that feels for Ruby? The love of her life just called her stupid, how do you come back from that?!” Full ugly tears streaming down my face, and my friends just staring at me like, “……What the fuck is wrong with you? It’s just a show.” And then when Sapphire comes back and Ruby’s note has her name fractured because she didn’t have the foresight to start writing Saph’s name closer to the left side of the paper 😂 omfg that had me DYING, I thought it was one of the funniest jokes in the entire show at the time. And yes telling you who the statue is would be a spoiler, but it’s not Rainbow Quartz (Rose + Pearl). Also! It’s funny to re-think of fusion names after the Big Reveal, because they only called themselves a quartz because of Rose’s alias. Unrelated, but I just looked up a pic of PD again and her and Steven have the same hair shape/outline 😭 idk why that’s so cute.
At this point in the series they've already shown Rainbow Quartz (the fusion between Rose and Pearl). She's not anywhere near big enough to be the template fusion.
