I love the darkness it is a welcome embrace goodjob. it gave me goosebumps. you have also managed to capture the feeling of the story behind this lullaby.

I like the idea of the choir version and the dark atmosphere. But I miss the sad emotion in the voice. It sounds for me too heartless. (But I think the church choirs are singing heartless too. But I can not tell because I am not religious and do not go to those choirs ;) )
The voices are actually too distanced. I'm sure their singing was purposefully misaligned to give it an authentic feeling, but at parts they are actually so distant it takes away from the song and also makes it near impossible to hear the lyrics. I would have preferred if it mimicked a professional choir that practiced single songs for dozens of hours, so that all the voices were clearly there but almost perfectly in sync.
I'm surprised you liked and highlighted this comment considering it was mainly disapproval of the way the cover was done. Props for taking constructive criticism like a professional

Bring down the echo and adjust the tempo. I know gregorian chants are echo-y and slow, but they're not so disjointed. The echo is just too distracting and making some notes too flat.

In fact, you describe an original composition;) The cover can be quite different, for example, without an orchestra at all, or in a different tessitura, or even with a change in of tonality. While many things regarding the product record, I would have done quite differently, similar to what you advise. Really. PS If the author wants, our ensemble could record for him and for his cover background chorus party as a live performance.
