Which "SNL" cameo left your jaw on the floor? Let us know below, and check out our video of the Top 20 SNL Sketches That Broke the Whole Cast - th-cam.com/video/JN9dElgJnHg/w-d-xo.html
The look on Mike Meyers, Madonna, and Roseanne's faces when Barbara Streisand comes on alone was shock then pure joy, and it was a beautiful thing to see :)
I would have liked Barbra to come on and say something like, "Can we talk about Streisand for a New York minute?" (loved that Madonna did the "we're not worthy" bowing bit, and Meyers managed to stay in character, kvelling!) As for the rest, I never even heard of most of the cameo people, never mind the SNL players! :p
Two Will Farrell sketches worthy of the list: Janet Reno crashing the Janet Reno Dance Party and Alex Trebek crashing Celebrity Jeopardy were priceless.
Your number one pick is appropriate! I still remember the night I was watching that show - live - and Streisand walked into the shot. When the characters on the TV screen started screaming, so did I. Well, 'screaming' is an exaggeration. But I was definitely surprised, and you could tell that Michael, Madonna, and Roseanne were much more surprised. It was a very genuine moment.
That Coffee Talk is one of my all time favorite’s - Madonna and Roseanne were priceless enough, but when Just like Buttah, Barbara Streisand, herself, surprised everyone I thought I was going to die❤️ Great list
My fave cameos are the ones...like Barbra Streisand...come in in the middle of a sketch that centers on that celebrity. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger calling Hans & Franz "girly-men" and Robert DeNiro & Joe Pesci taking a baseball bat to Jim Breuer on "The Joe Pesci Show.
Yes, I couldn't believe the Barbra Streisand cameo wasn't number one. I guess this list is for more recent surprise appearances, but that one took the cake for me when I saw it the first time. Heck, even Mike Myers, Madonna, and Roseanne were shocked by her appearance lol. It was a great moment.
The original Five Timers skit, Lindsay Buckingham on “What’s Up With That”, the real DeNiro and Pesci on “The Joe Pesci Show”, Tom Hanks as himself on “Celebrity Jeopardy!”
I really liked Selena's cameo appearance which is at Number 6 at the 4:43 minute mark because Steve Martin did it when she hosted the show last season. So she was like, "Hey, Since Steve made a cameo, I am going to do the same thing to him and Marty." So she did it because they did "Only Murders in the Building". This was her third appearance by doing the show when she was the musical guest when Ronda Rousey was the host in 2016
The best cameo on SNL was when the real Janet Reno came on stage when Will Ferrel was doing him imitation of her. He was not told ahead of time about her appearance and the shock on his face tells all.
You can see the look on Taylor's face at the 9:33 minute mark says it all. Ice Spice could've said, "Thank you Taylor!" as she exits the scene to watch her performance. This was her sixth time in a row for being on "Saturday Night Live". Her very first appearance was on January 10th, 2009 when Neil Patrick Harris was the host.
Come on now. The Elon Musk episode was horrible and no one even really knew who Grimes was at that point. There were better cameos that could have been used.
How you could make this list and not include, even in the honorable mentions, the cameo of Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro when they beat their impersonaters with a baseball bat, is beyond me. HUGE miss there.
can't believe mick jagger literally just did one of his infamous cameos and it didn't even make it onto this list...half these people hardly count as celebrities anyway
March 19, 1977. Opening of that show saw three backup singers to Gilda Radner being Jane Curtin, Laraine Newman and the Taylor Swift of 1977...Linda Ronstadt. The OG surpirse SNL cameo.
I was betting Barbra was the top cameo...not disappointed. It's the kind of surprise SNL does brilliantly. Surprised no mention of Sarah Palin, but maybe she's so yesterday...?
I knew Barack Obama's appearance in the Halloween party sketch would be here, I was surprised it was only an honorable mention. Do you remember that he enters wearing a Barack Obama mask? With so many to choose from, this should have been a top 20 or two part list. Here are some omissions: 1. Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro appear as themselves in the last of the recurring Joe Pesci Show sketches. 2. Similarly, Alex Trebek appears as himself in the last Celebrity Jeopardy sketch. 3. In a Cameron Diaz/Smashing Pumpkins episode, there's a Butabi Brothers sketch (Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan dancing). At the end of the sketch, Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd reprise their roles as "Two Wild and Crazy Guys" from the early days of the show. 4. In a sketch from an episode Pamela Anderson hosted, Norm McDonald plays Pam's then-husband Tommy Lee, interfering in her acting jobs, thinking they're real. At the end of the sketch, the real Tommy Lee showed up to threaten Norm. 5. Bryan Cranston appears as Walter White (Breaking Bad) in a show opening sketch as Trump's choice to head the DEA. 6. After his run on the show had ended, Fred Armisen returned to introduce the re-airing of an SNL performance from the recently deceased David Bowie. 7. Jennifer Aniston as herself, appears alongside Vanessa Bayer doing her Rachel Green impression, during one of the Thursday night Weekend Update episodes. 8. Charlie Day appears in a sketch on an episode hosted by his Horrible Bosses castmate, Jamie Foxx. 9. Michael Jordan appears in a Daily Affirmation sketch one episode. 10. Muggsy Bogues also appears in a Daily Affirmation sketch alongside guest host Charles Barkley, nearly coming to blows when Barkley calls him an "ugly midget."
There are too many cameos to list. Two of the not on this list that I thought of were: James gandolfini in an episode of weekend update. But he was labeled as a random guy from New Jersey, not his real name or tony soprano. The second one was Jack Nicholson. Helen hunt hosted in 1997 and the opening monologue consisted of the rest of the cast doing Nicholson impressions (since she won the Oscar for as good as it gets and Jack was her co star), especially Jim breuer. Then Jack walks out on stage and confronts everyone 😂🤚
Sorry to say, each and every one of these examples are mistimed. You should highlight the exact moment these celebs' cameos occur so we can experience the reaction. instead, you show us what happens after the fact, making it very hollow. This whole video isn't done right.
Even though i don't watch SNL, this was a great top nonetheless. Happy saturday afternoon, Saraah, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
While your choices for the video were spot on, I really wish we had gotten more of the raw reaction when it happened. Too much talking over what I thought was going to be the focus of the video, fan reactions.
OK, I am not from the USA, I do not listen to her music but what makes Streisand so famous? She had one hit 50 years ago and 2-3 a little above mediocre movies. I don´t get it, can someone please explain the fuss about her?
I stopped watching this video 33 seconds in because you never stop talking. You may love the sound of your voice we want to hear what the performers have to say.
As always for MsMojo, your narration is excessive past the point of being annoying. End up skipping through half the video trying to get past narration, and still end up hearing more narration than actual clips. 👎

All of them are great and great surprises too
None
The original first three years of SNL will NEVER be outdone.
You heared it here first: C R I N G E !
How about a video in which the word 'iconic' or any other word with those letters is used.
The look on Mike Meyers, Madonna, and Roseanne's faces when Barbara Streisand comes on alone was shock then pure joy, and it was a beautiful thing to see :)
I would have liked Barbra to come on and say something like, "Can we talk about Streisand for a New York minute?" Two Will Farrell sketches worthy of the list: Janet Reno crashing the Janet Reno Dance Party and Alex Trebek crashing Celebrity Jeopardy were priceless.
Yes!! Those were awesome, especially Reno! Never thought she would’ve been on the show. Clearly had a sense of humour.
Sarah Palin with Tina Fey and Hillary Clinton with Amy Poehler were two classics, but nothing beat Streisand's cameo. Still my favorite.
Streisand's cameo can never, ever be topped.
Paul McCartney showing up on Christmas with Jimmy Fallon should’ve been on this list!
True, but Sir Paul is considered "old school" these days... KDM
Fallon is a wuss!
My two favorites that I saw live were Matt Damon as Brett Kavenaugh, and Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer
Maybe 1 or two of these are good, especially the Coffee Talk but so many others were way more jaw dropping than these.
When Bill Murray played himself as "Mr. Murray" in the sketch where people were asking Kate and Alex questions as Hilary and Trump.
The time Stormie Daniels showed up in a Trump-roasting skit that also included Ben Stiller, Jimmy Fallon and Scarlet Johansson.

@@DarlingNikki2 Barbra Streisand WAS No. 1
Nobody screamed at Grimes. Nobody in the audience even knew who she was or made any noise.
The original Five Timers skit, Lindsay Buckingham on “What’s Up With That”, the real DeNiro and Pesci on “The Joe Pesci Show”, Tom Hanks as himself on “Celebrity Jeopardy!”
0:31 Kel was definitely the best cameo ever. Uh, oh here comes the bus 😂😂😂😂
I'm surprised Alex Trebek didn't make the list.
Worth it!
Coffee Talk, absolutely amazing, good pick
Pesci & DeNiro on the Joe Pesci show. Nothing short of epic.
Jennifer Aniston in Weekend Update, with Vanessa Bayer.
This was her third appearance by doing the show when she was the musical guest when Ronda Rousey was the host in 2016
Years ago Mick and Keith were on and they were licking each other's faces. That was the one and ONLY time I ever watched SNL .
Yea, idk if I coulda watched after that either
for me it's larry david as bernie sanders, paul mccarthy, and melissa mccarthy as sean spicer.
The best cameo on SNL was when the real Janet Reno came on stage when Will Ferrel was doing him imitation of her. He was not told ahead of time about her appearance and the shock on his face tells all.
Hilary Clinton as the bar tender was in my top 3 cameos.
I still tear up when I see Mike Myers surprise and happiness when he sees Barbara
I loved the whole Coffee Talk skit. Golden!!😊
Suggestion: Please cut the narration so we can enjoy the cameos!
These cameos were just amazing for us!😄
I loved Keenan and Kell lol
How about KEnan??
Kel Mitchell must host SNL
Who? Haha
How did Janet Reno crashing in (literally) on Will Ferrall and one of his "Janet Reno dance party " skits not make this list?
That was great, I remember seeing it live. She improved her image by showing she could have a decent sense of humor about being mocked
Very very great fun list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever and a lot of fun too 😊❤
They left so many out. Like Nicolas Cage, Robert DeNiero and Joe Pesci,
Also when Steve and Dan appeared as "Two Wild and Crazy Guys" in the dating game.
Where is the Jennifer Aniston weekend update sketch!!??! Or Taylor with 3 Sad Virgins?
You can see the look on Taylor's face at the 9:33 minute mark says it all. Ice Spice could've said, "Thank you Taylor!" as she exits the scene to watch her performance. This was her sixth time in a row for being on "Saturday Night Live". Her very first appearance was on January 10th, 2009 when Neil Patrick Harris was the host.
Can we get another marathon breakyp I Hate My Ex song when she and the football tosser call it a day?
Still can’t forget seeing Jason Mamoa in that one First Impressions court sketch & completely stealing the entire thing from everyone 😂🤣🙌
😂😂
Agreed😅
Come on now. The Elon Musk episode was horrible and no one even really knew who Grimes was at that point. There were better cameos that could have been used.
Left off yhe best one....Janet Reno you confronts the SNL cast member who played her for years!
Will Farrell.
Mike Myers really didn't know Streisand was showing up?
Great improv!
How you could make this list and not include, even in the honorable mentions, the cameo of Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro when they beat their impersonaters with a baseball bat, is beyond me. HUGE miss there.
Lampleg from tiktok's plot that Luigi and Peach are in a affair is becoming more common than I thought.
Pretty we sure we all said that 20 years before TikTok...
can't believe mick jagger literally just did one of his infamous cameos and it didn't even make it onto this list...half these people hardly count as celebrities anyway
There's a cameo from Scorsese and Deniro when host Joe Pesci is harrassed by an usher.
That one was awesome.
Excellent video😊
Pedro Pascal with Bad Bunny!!!
Paul McCartney surprising Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin in the "Platinum Lounge" sketch.
Sarah Paulson needs to host!!!!!
March 19, 1977. Opening of that show saw three backup singers to Gilda Radner being Jane Curtin, Laraine Newman and the Taylor Swift of 1977...Linda Ronstadt. The OG surpirse SNL cameo.
It made a then 17 year old me scream.
ps to all you all that think SNL began with Will Ferrell Gilda, Jane and Laraine were the original three female stars of SNL.
I was betting Barbra was the top cameo...not disappointed. It's the kind of surprise SNL does brilliantly. Surprised no mention of Sarah Palin, but maybe she's so yesterday...?
Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro showing up on The Joe Pesci show. How does that not even get an honorable mention?
Who's the frigging robo narrator??
I knew Barack Obama's appearance in the Halloween party sketch would be here, I was surprised it was only an honorable mention. Do you remember that he enters wearing a Barack Obama mask?

When Conan OBrien crashed Mulaney’s “Five-Timers Club”
I love the … way she… reads… like a ro…bot. (Just give us the SNL dialogue please.)
Robert D'nero and Joe Pesci
Thank you!
Bob Dole confronting Norm McDonald.
Joe pesci and Robert de niro. Where are they on the list?
Melissa McCarthy showing up as Sean Spicer was both surprising and hysterical.
Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer driving a motorized podium through Mid Town Manhattan was priceless 🤣🤣🤣
My favorite is Barbra Streisand! And Hillary Clinton should have made the list!
There are too many cameos to list.
Two of the not on this list that I thought of were:
James gandolfini in an episode of weekend update. But he was labeled as a random guy from New Jersey, not his real name or tony soprano.

😂🤚
Aaaah Mick Jagger's from recently should have been hereeee
Number one is still so iconic I have shown it to people in recent years an they go wild.
Sorry to say, each and every one of these examples are mistimed. You should highlight the exact moment these celebs' cameos occur so we can experience the reaction. instead, you show us what happens after the fact, making it very hollow. This whole video isn't done right.
How about DeNiro and Scorsese offering to back up Joe Pesci?
I haven’t seen most of these. I haven’t watched in a few years.
I was expecting this video today since Saturday
Vincent D'Onofrio portraying "Robert Goren" in brief 2008 presidential election sketch ❤❤❤
When Tracey Morgan showed up during Eddie Murphy's opening montologue.😊😊
What about the Joe Pechi & Robert Denerio cameo?
Even though i don't watch SNL, this was a great top nonetheless. Happy saturday afternoon, Saraah, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Also when Bill appeared as Steve Bannon.
Never even heard of most of these people.
Barbera!
I thought that was Mary Louise Dreyfus in the blonde wig, not Madonna????
Who remembers Timothee Chalamet in Weird little Flute
You got #1 pick right !
Elon musk shouldn't be near this list.
The real joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro paid a visit to SNL during "The Joe Pesci Show" (Jim Brewer and Colin Quinn), circa 1993.
No Joe Pesci and Robert Deniro on the Robert Deniro show. Also Gene Rayburn on the Susan Lucci episode.
I would appreciate it if you stopped talking and let us hear the audience reaction!
The old ones that seemed like surprises were better. Many of these are only publicity stunts. I did not know who some were. And I did not care.
#Leoforhost
Me too msmojo me too
I thought Lil Wayne made a surprise appearance in a sketch, but it was actually Chris Redd doing a pitch perfect impersonation.
This would have been a great video if you would have just let the videos play. Your description of what was going on was both useless and distracting.
Nah. Elon's entire episode was flaming hot garbage. He bought his episode and it shows,
And I'm done with this video when Elon Musk showed.
Why
@davidnonnenmocher5122 It's 2023. If you don't know by now, you don't want to know.
The Joe Pesci Show should have easily made #1
The cameos are great, your commentary is not.
Selena gomez????? Seriously ???...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Not a super big fan of this narrator.
Ruined by the voice over !
Poor excuse for a list
