    You are the first seller that actually got me interested in selling. I have been selling on posh and eBay for 4 months now and am really happy with my return. I think I just need to get organized cause I have stuff everywhere. Thank you so much for your videos and label awareness.

    I found a Karl Lagerfeld piece yesterday lace tunic gorgeous but below Karl Lagerfeld it said : "made in China" obviously mass produced so i didn't pick that piece up. The Vince piece for $13.99 is no brainer. Looks like you have no competition at all. Like 1 other person was there lol. Our gw is swarming with resellers. Finding anything decent name brand is like winning a lottery

    There is a product called Dry Cleaner's Secret - it's a treated cloth you throw in the dryer with 3-4 items of dry clean only clothing and dry for about 15 minutes. Helps freshen and brighten those dry clean only items. You can also use the cloth to spot clean the item before throwing it in the dryer. I've had great luck with it on items that were not heavily stained.

      Patricia Michitsch Thanks for the tip. I've actually used this before and found it a little too heavily scented for my taste so after I used it, I let the pieces air out for a while.

    I have 2 questions: 1. Do those tiny sizes sell pretty fast? 2. How do you clean or freshen up the DRY CLEAN ONLY items? Thanks!

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions! 1) Tiny sizes can take longer to sell, but nothing over a few months. 2) If the item is dry clean only and it is worth a lot of money, I have it dry cleaned. If it is not worth a lot, I may not pick it up. Or if it is clean and smell free, I will go with the 'hanging it in clean air to freshen up the clothing' route.

    Very nice video, but I agree with the person who suggested that in addition to these nice videos, I'd like to see you do videos concentrating on after the sale-sold! Would like to see exactly what items sold for. Also interesting, if you did video on the details of the item and your estimation of what you might get for them, (like this one), then later do a video after most of those items have sold and what yo9u got for them. I find that fun, interesting, and informative. One last comment, again as someone else touched on, I really like that you take good care of your pieces and prepare them nicely for selling. freshening them up and removing wrinkles? I'm sure that's appreciated, and I may be wrong about this, but I don't think so--I think you are in the minority as far as washing, preparing, etc. And taking the A.P.C> sweater to the dry cleaners? Wow. Honestly, I never would have picked that up considering the pilling and stains that may or may not come out. I think I just wouldn't bother with the risk, and to be honest I guess I'm too lazy to want to not only remove the pills, but to go to the dry cleaner to try and remove stains. I understand that you see it as worth it, and I guess it is, but I just wouldn';t bother. Wow, you are lucky to have a dry cleaner who will charge $5.00 to remove stains! The dry cleaners in my area-about 45 min. north of Boston, MA, the dry cleaners wouldn't touch anything for $5.00. They are absolutely crazy expensive overpriced for virtually EVERYTHING! In any case, good for you! I must find your ebay vs. Poshmark. I keep hearing of Poshmark, but I've never looked into it and don't know a thing about them and how to make a decision about where to sell an item. I get the impression from you that Posh is good for certain pieces of high end and/or unique or vintage. I'll go check into it. Thank you-I'll be watching regularly! :-)

    questions: How do you know when you can use a photo from an online site? 2. You mentioned a couple of other sites to sell on (like Thred up & swap.com. However, when I looked at what would be my return, it looked like most of their payments are under a dollar to possibly $2. Could I possibly be looking at it incorrectly? 3. How do you get the prices you mention? I have listed many of the brands you mention & it's hard to get $5 or $6. I must be doing something wrong? Do you have an online store (within Posh and Ebay?)

    • @sandiludwig4335

      GMA D. I looked at the payouts on Thred and less than $1 even on better brands so it was not worth it. I hope we get an answer from New York Thrifter🙏

    My husband says I should thrift but I buy free people top that's originally are $168 for $53.00 and sell it for $80 am I not being wise everyone thrifts but if the return is $20 does it matter the initial cost? Also Is real real the only high end consignment you can recommend 50 percent is kind of high i have so many Chanel that won't sell

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to admit that I may be on your husband's side on this one...there are lots and lots of ways to make a $20 profit on eBay that doesn't require a $53 purchase.
      For example, if I thrift a few shirts, I can easily make a $20 profit with just a few dollars. Even the mall brands (i.e. J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Lane Bryant, etc.) can turn a $3 thrift sale into $9 or $10 in profit. It takes a little more time listing several items (for example, I can do a listing in about 5 minutes, so my time on listing 3 items is about 15 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes with just one item). But if I only spend $9 on three items and looking at the same $20 return, that ROI just seems to make more sense to me.
      Also, there are so many things that can go wrong with an item (i.e. you can find a stain, or it can take a LONG time to sell, or it can go out of season/style, etc.) if you had to re-donate a $3-5 purchase that's not as painful as if a $53 item was sitting in inventory or worse, had to be marked down, that eats up profits QUICKLY.

    You get some good finds at your thrift store. I went last night looking for your best designer jeans to thrift and mine had 1 on your list that I didn't recognize it was one of them and passed them by, but I found 2 pair of jeans: Love Indigo Premium still had tags for $48., I paid under $5. The other is BubblegumUSA which is only $18. preowned, but I paid 1/2 off at 3.50 or so. :)

    I have a Louis Verdad dress... it's new without tag... but has no style number and I'm having a hard time trying to find anything that is similar to price... any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I would do, is go to eBay and search for 'Louis Verdad dress', then in the left sidebar click on 'New' and choose 'Sold Listings'. This will show you what other NWT dresses by this designer has sold for.
      After a really quick look, it seems like there has only been one sale in the last few months from this company (and it went for 99 cents). I then checked out the unsold items and there is a big difference in listing prices (from $17 to $50). Since this is an incredibly slow moving brand, I'm thinking that there isn't a big customer base ... so I would try to find keywords to describe the dress in hopes that someone looking for the style will find it (because it doesn't look like people are looking for the designer). I'd also price it on the lower end, just to get it moving...

    What steamer do you use?

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually have gone through a TON and don't really love any of the ones that I have used. I had a Conair Extreme Steam Hand Held which was okay (costs about $35), I have also used the larger Conair GS61R which holds more water, but doesn't have as much oomh (costs about $34). The Yomband portable steamer ($25) burns me constantly, but it heats up SUPER FAST. I got rid of my stand up "valet" steamer (not sure what the brand was, but the distance the steam had to travel to make it to the nozzle really ineffective. And don't get me started on the Joy Mangano steamers -- they DO NOT work for me at all.
      Probably not much help since I really don't have one to recommend...I think steamers are just flawed in general. My suggestion would be find something cheap at a local thrift and use it until it breaks.

    I have a question. how do you deal with a customer that bought a new item with tag from you, and somehow the customer want to return it, and the customer already remove the tag?

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would probably deny the return (since it is not in original condition). The problem is if the buyer goes to eBay (or PayPal) and says that the item arrived not as described. It is then up to eBay to make a determination if the return is valid.

      Depending on their condition, I will list for about $29.99 (+$3.99 in shipping), then I will take best offers of around $24-25.
      So the breakdown would be - $4.00 for the jeans, $3.00 shipping (the buyer pays $4 of the shipping, but sent Priority in a flat rate bubble mailer leaves about $3 for me to pick up), and about $4.20 in eBay and PayPal Fees = Total cost to me $11.20
      Buyer pays $24 + $3.99 = $27.99
      Total Profit = $11.20

    thanks for this amazing video, I love all your videos. I don't know anything about high end designer clothes, so I have a question is Vince and Vince Camuto is the same designer? I found two Vince Camuto blouses at my local Goodwill store for $3.89 each but I was not sure about this name.

    • @RunwayMUA
      @RunwayMUA  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These are two very different brands. Vince is a high end brand which retails for $100-500 new. Vince Camuto is a more mainstream brand which retails for a lot less. Both sell well on eBay, but you can generally get a lot more money for Vince.
