What would you recommend to flush this. I have one on a 75 gallon fish tank that's set to 55 and it just stopped chilling down past 60. No problems in the past year. I believe it needs to be flushed.

The 1/2 HP and the 1/4 HP both reach a max low temp of 39 degrees... There's almost no reason that cold plungers would need the 1/2 HP unit

Hi I got an active aqua 1/2 hp for an ice barrel 400 that is filled up about half way, maybe 60 gallons. I cannot get it lower that 63°. I’m in Texas and it’s hot. It’s in my garage which is about 90°. I’ve sent one chiller back and it was replaced but even the new one isn’t getting cold. Does this seem normal?

Your barrel isn’t insulated. You need an insulated barrel. I was however to get a cheap portable barrel on Amazon into the low 40s with a 1/4 chiller, but it ran every other hour. I ended up buying a ln ice barrel 500 due to the insulation and being in Florida. That keeps the temp properly. Also only run the pump when it’s chilling. Get an external thermostat that kicks on when it’s at your desired temp. Have the pump and chiller on a splitter so they both turn on when the thermostat kicks on.

Also make sure your tubing is insulated using pool noodles or something for a/c lines from Home Depot. I just used black pool noodles.

Where would you recommend a filter going? After the pump, before it enters the chiller?
