Christopher Reeve did a tremendous job of distinguishing Clark Kent from Superman - they actually felt like two totally different people. The difference was more than just wearing glasses. And what can you say about Luther and his land plans? The guy was really, really into real estate. Also - this was an amazing Pitch Meeting.
@@OnMyMindEntertainment - THANK YOU!!! Crisis on Infinite Earths had its positives and its negatives, but arguably the best part was that it gave Brandon Routh a chance to show everyone that he deserved the role, and that Superman Returns was not his fault.
During the 2017 Oscar ceremony, Feige revealed that before starting any MCU production he always rewatches 'Superman' directed by Richard Donner released in 1978, with Christopher Reeve taking on the mantle of the Man of Steel.
While I like pretty much every actor that has played Superman, I would say Tom Welling from Smallville is my favorite. That was such a terrific series.
For me the animated versions have often been the most iconic. So I'd probably say George Newbern from the Justice League animated series. Just really brought a great presence to Superman. Though out of the live action versions I'd still say Christopher Reeve is my favourite.
This pitch meeting made me realize I've never seen this or don't remember anything if I did. I only remember some Zod scenes from the second one but obviously a pitch meeting also points out the weirder stuff specifically 😅
its kinda out there, but id love to see you react to one of thebirdman‘s "everything wrong with cinemasins" videos. the guy is hilarious and watching him tear cinemasins inconsistency into bits is super entertaining
I feel like just reacting to CinemaSins would be better imo. Having someone make a riff off of a satire in itself just seems unoriginal and somehow even more nitpicky than the nitpick.
"Fast" can refer to Velocity or Acceleration: Superman's Acceleration wasn't fast enough to the speed capable of stopping both missiles in time. However, his maximum Velocity when given time to accelerate can go fast enough to go back in time (apparently). This was actually seen in the Comic, Flash's "One Minute War", where Clark gradually catches up to the speed of Flash's family and his opponents.
It's been too many years since I saw the second Superman, if I remember correctly, Superman flying around the earth changed things in a way that allow the three prisoners to escape the prism.
tyler hoechlin probably is my favorite superman now, and that may just be because the Superman and Lois tv show is really good (I think you would like it), and he kills the role.
At least stuff like Avengers Endgame attempted to explain the time travel through Mobius Strips and the quantum realm and such, but it never made sense how somehow reversing the earth just reverses time, but I guess it is an almost 50 year old movie 😂
Time travel as an easy solution can be easily fixed, just as it was in Flash: make some butterfly effect so that it can make things worse. This would discourage the protagonists from using it.
Henry Cavill is my favorite Superman. And I've always said exactly what the little girl said towards the end about Superman having to earn his reason for not wanting to kill.
I've never been a big fan of Superman, but I'm excited for the new one just because it's directed by James Gunn! Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker had hilarious moments, cool action, and surprisingly real moments and metaphors for real world issues.
Christopher Reeve is my Superman. And Michael Keaton is my Batman. 🤗😁 *"White Rashida Jones"* took me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣😂😅🤣😂 I never realized how much Margo Kidder looks like Rashida! (Or rather, how much she looks like Rashida's mother, Peggy Lipton.)
13:50 the kids' argument is actually completely backwards. The biggest problem with properties like Superman, Star Trek, or any other big fantasy franchise is that they all try so hard these days to "reflect society for what it is", to force some sort of modern message into it. They NEED to _go back_ to making movies or TV shows about hope, about what society could become if we weren't all so constantly bombarded with depressing images of modern culture and narratives. Stop trying to make the damn movies relatable, and return to making them something to aspire to!
@TheFinalFanboy I didn't say NO movies should be relatable, just certain fantasy/scifi/adventure franchises. The John Wick or Taken franchises wouldn't have done so well if they were light and fluffy.
For me personally, the version of Superman I enjoyed the most is Tyler Hoechlin's from Superman & Lois The most human version of Superman If you want a sneak peek without watching the whole show, watch chapter 1x11 of Superman & Lois, that's where they show Clark Meeting Lois
As much as Henry Cavil looked the part, he definitely was too drastic a departure from the comics to be my Superman. Christopher Reeves is, at least in my opinion, the definitive Superman... We'll just have to see next year if that changes but I doubt it... 😅😂
Yes, why _didn't_ Superman take a few more spins to turn back time to prevent the entire artificial earthquake?? That would have solved all the death and destruction _and_ Lois Lane's death in an earthquake-caused landslide all in one go!
The problem is that Henry Cavill never got to be Superman. He only ever got to be the dark, brooding, depressing, nihilistic Man of Steel from Snyder's fevered bro-brain. I would have loved to see Henry Cavill play Superman.
I was really enjoying Cavill in Zack Snyder's JL and was looking forward to seeing more of his version. I enjoy Man of Steel and the Ultimate Cut of BvS, but I don't prefer that type of Superman.
Mostly because he's more Clark than Superman in that show for me. I know he's always Superman and does a lot of heroic things in the show, but the duality of the character was never there for me.
@@OnMyMindEntertainment I always liked the show because it emphasized the struggle but eventually need for there to be a duality between Clark and Superman even tho, as the show does a great job of illustrating while the movies usually have u forgetting, they ARE the same person. And the evolution of Clark realizing that there has to be a separation between Clark and Superman is why he's the best for me
For years I felt the Lex "Used Car Salesman" Luthor from the old Christopher Reeves Superman movies was the lamest Lex Luthor with the most mis-cast actor playing Lex. And then the modern DCEU _Batman vs Superman_ movie with that 5'6'' twitchy giggly shaggy-haired milkfaced Lex "But I want to play the Riddler" Luthor happened...
Christopher Reeve is my Superman. That being said that while I enjoyed some of this movie... It is mostly really horrible. CR really captured what Superman was. If you take away the virtues that made Superman what he was then he may as well just be any other superhero. I never really even liked Superman much but I already respected him for the purity and goodness of his character. CR represented that aspect of him perfectly. Also he wasn't always professional wrestler muscular so that aspect of him never mattered.
Justice League Cartoon is my superman This ones probably my 2nd, Smallville's superman was such a judgmental prick If I were Lex, I'd have gone evil too having this jack-as barge in and accuse me of crimes without evidence every other day.
Time Travel? Pfft...lightweights....mulitverse baby....imagine, "that didn't happen in that movie" kind of thing will cease....wizard of oz? Lets go to disneyland in a different multivers...flying monkeys, how about flying chipmunks? I mean, when you can make whatever up and just say "hey, it's from a diff dimension"...that is gold and will allow for anything to be reinvented/reexplained....Batman who's parents didn't die? Eventually someone will do it....
Christopher Reeve is and will always be the only real Superman. Cavill is PERFECT, but the WB slept on him and threw away lightning in a bottle. Too bad.
You mentioned about every single Sups except Tom Welling. Is that because you forgot, or because you consider him Superboy? The latter is fair, but the former is an unholy sin.
Honestly, because he wasn't in the suit until the very end, he was always just Clark to me. Never felt like I got the duality of the character like Reeves or Routh.
40 years old teenager to 39 years old adult is wao wao wao😂
Pitch meeting reaction is tight
Christopher Reeve will always be Superman

And what can you say about Luther and his land plans? The guy was really, really into real estate.

I think that's why I like Brandon Routh's version too. He was able to copy what Reeve's did so effortlessly.

😂
Dean Cain "Clark Kent is who I am. Superman is what I do"
Christopher Reeve will always be my superman. And we need a movie on what she was writing
While I like pretty much every actor that has played Superman, I would say Tom Welling from Smallville is my favorite. That was such a terrific series.
I grew up watching Smallville, so I’m inclined to say the same! But Tyler Hoechlin’s version of Superman has grown on me over the years 😌
Solid choice
For me the animated versions have often been the most iconic. So I'd probably say George Newbern from the Justice League animated series. Just really brought a great presence to Superman.

I’m glad I saw this live.
😀🙌

OMG! I just realized that BOTH the first serious Superman and Batman films had the villains with top billing!
@@avalonentertainment2183 That's right!
@@OnMyMindEntertainment You could say the same for "Howard the Duck," but I don't know if that counts. 🤣🤣🤣
I wouldn't say villains ... I'd say the actors that played them which allowed the movies to be made in the first place.
My Superman will always be Christopher Reeve, that is the first one I saw, and the most truthful to the character
I'm quite thankful that when I first saw this I had no concept of what a Plot Hole was.
🤣🤣🤣Lois Lane's article was about spending a night with Superman- I loved both of these as well, I loved" these aircrafts can't air properly!" 😂😂😂
The HISHE for this one is good too. Short and sweet, you can definitely see how their experience and talent greets over the years.

George Reeves. My fave Superman/Clark Kent.😊
Imagine mentioning ralph in the superman debate. Reeves out of nostalgia and respect, but also.... Henry
George Reeves, Superman Always.
Did wonder would you get the "Kal El, no"- joke. You did, 'cause you're the best
LOL
I'm old enough that Reeves was for sure my Superman. Cavill is great, but Reeves will always be the template.
It's been too many years since I saw the second Superman, if I remember correctly, Superman flying around the earth changed things in a way that allow the three prisoners to escape the prism.
Why did honest trailers kid sound like Linus from Peanuts? Lol
Tom Welling, Henry Cavill, Dean Cain, Tim Daly, George Newbern, Christopher Reeve, George Reeves
tyler hoechlin probably is my favorite superman now, and that may just be because the Superman and Lois tv show is really good (I think you would like it), and he kills the role.
11:56 no matter what anyone may think about this movie, that was perhaps the best grief-scream ever put to film!
😂😂😂 Your reaction was great
Time travel works if it is circular, that is the only type I like in movies or games.
Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill and Tyler are definitely my superman
At least stuff like Avengers Endgame attempted to explain the time travel through Mobius Strips and the quantum realm and such, but it never made sense how somehow reversing the earth just reverses time, but I guess it is an almost 50 year old movie 😂
Bite your tongue 😛 It’s only 44 years old! I saw it when it came out, so it can’t be that old 🤣🤣
1. Christopher Reeves
2. Dean Cain
3. WB TV Show Superman (forgot his name)
@TheFinalFanboy Ah, yes; that's it. Thanks. 👍🏾
Christopher Reeves is my Superman.
I'm gonna be a Brandon Routh fan for life!
Tom Welling in Smallville is my Superman.

Danny deVito as Superman! 🦸♂️

also, Margot Kidder was notorious for being batshit crazy.
Dont heart this. SMI is not worth mockery. She was notorious for suffering from asshat like you
Love Dean Cain as Clark. Christopher Reeve is my superman though.
Com’on it George Reeve.
Yeah, I enjoyed the Dean Cain series as a child, too.
Tom Welling (Smallville)
Henry Cavill. I was really excited when he came back in Black Adam, and then promptly left 2 months later
Harry potter used time travel 😂

Brandon Routh, but not because he played Superman. I liked when he played Todd.

Christopher Reeve (no "s")
Dean Cain
Brandon Routh
Henry Cavill
(Couldn't remember Smallville's actor w/o Google)

Like if you think My Adventure's with Superman version of Lois Lane is hot. :) Plus she is the best version of Lois I have seen.
for a modern superman id have to go with Tyler Hoechlin

1:34 more convincing than Gal Gadot
Christopher Reeve is the perfect Superman and Teri Hatcher is the perfect Lois.
