Refs have to start in grassroots getting paid £30 and getting abused. If somehow they survive and make it to the lower leagues, they get a huge increase to £80-£300 per game. EFL refs get £38-£42k per year and £600-£1k per game. PL referees get £70k-£200k, then £1-2k per game. Assistant referees get paid less. These guys are in charge of games with £ billions being bet on each game. They need to double the amount of refs to create a wider pool to draw from (so they can rotate or demote poor performers), and increase salaries, especially at grass roots, to get better people in to the profession.

PGMOL is not fit for purpose. VAR was introduced to help them make better decisions but instead the referees just use VAR to back up the idiot on the field and allow poor decisions to stand. Last season at Liverpool, Odegaard was playing basketball in the box. No penalty was given to Liverpool. Luis Diaz scored a perfectly good goal at Spurs, VAR messed it up and the goal wasn't given. PGMOL is not fit for purpose. VAR was introduced to help them make better decisions but instead the referees just use VAR to back up the idiot on the field and allow poor decisions to stand. If you're an Arsenal fan how can you trust that the game is not rigged when Michael Oliver is the referee? Nothing that I've seen makes me think that the PGMOL is anything other than a bunch of petty weak minded blokes mostly from the Manchester area that hold grudges and act out agendas when they go on the pitch. Regardless of where it stems from! Unfair refereeing in the premier league is unacceptable. Us as fans don’t have to accept it. It’s not right and it never will be.
We’ve been unfairly treated so often and so outrageously, that it does seem like something fishy is going on. And often, a consensus gut feeling can end up being right or having some truth to it. Combine that with the evidence. That’s basically what a jury does isn’t it? Trust the evidence and their gut and come to a decision?
