Somebeachsomewhere is the GOAT OF Pacing Standardbŕeds. No doubt. He dominated as a race horse. First ever SuB 1:50 2 year old. Only career loss by a nose. Dominated as a Stallion.
No doubt the best of this generation, but I beg to differ, as I think Niatross was the best ever. My reasoning, is his times blew away anything before and it took about 10 years to catch up, "Beach" was fantastic and better in the barn, but his race times have been bettered in a relative short period.
I think the Beach was set up and got pushed to the outside or he would have won the big race in probably a faster time then the 1:47. They knew he liked to go to the top and the horse that had him pushed out to the outside faded by the halfway mark.
@@bigcountry4947 Clint wasn't much of a driver but the same was true with Paul at the time. We never got to see either horse with an elite driver. My guess is Niatross would have done a 1:47.4 instead of 1:49.1 with a real driver in the time trial. Niatross looked like the better of the two. Niatross wasn't bred to the hilt Somebeachsomewhere was better bred but not the greatest breeding. In the modern era Mission Brief had the most raw speed I'd ever seen in the last 50 years. Buttercup Hanover makes her maiden debut this Friday at Mohawk. Sylvia Hanover made her maiden debut yesterday at Mohawk. One of these two will be the 3 year old world champion filly pacer.
Niatorss never raced against much of a crop of 3 year old's or two year old's. Somebeachsomewhere raced against a better crop of 3 years old's and two year old's. The most dominate I've ever seen in the last 50 years would be Mission Brief. We'll se what Buttercup Hanover can do out of a real sire Betting Line not that pig Shadow Play. Either Sylvia Hanover or Buttercup Hanover will be the 3 year old world record filly pacer. Buttercup Hanover makes her maiden debut this Friday at Mohawk. Sylvia Hanover made her maiden debut two days ago at Mohawk. My guess is Sylvia Hanover will break the 2 and 3 year old filly pacer world record.
@@parkerbohnn but we can agree that niatross was way ahead of his time. To not have the greatest driver he put on a show. But me personally I think he cudve easily went 1:46 back then
