So much of life happens there, and it's incredible how little most of us pay attention. I suppose that's why her music feels so authentic, so special in such a simple way. As Bill Frisell once said of another musician I deeply admire: "[She] seems to have tapped into the artery somehow. There's a lot going on in-between and behind the notes. Mystery." And, I might add, Possibility. Truly captiviating music and person.
