You said, programming language compile the program and scripting language interpret it! but, Java does both right! compilation and interpretation too! then can we say Java is a Programming as well as Scripting language like JavaScript! yes you can say it does both, but you mostly write the code that is compiled, interpretation happens internally that's why its called programming language
