Sir you are doing great
Can i get wriiten notes in pdf form @eudphile
Generalized coordinates are any set of variables, which can be used to specify the configuration of a system.
Independent variables are called degree of freedo.
Generalized coordinates are set of independent coordinates and dof is the no. Of G.C
sir, what are the generalized coordinates associated with particles moving on inside the surface of a cone ?
Very good Explanation 👍
Isn't the 3N-k only applicable to paraticles in 3 D. For 2 D (example the circle) wouldn't it be 2N-k (2*1-1=1)?
You are amazing ❤
Thanks ☺️

Agar hum number of dimension ko bada de vo bhi ek particle ke liye jisme wo Superposistion show kar raha ho or independent ho tab uska equation Kya hoga

Sir ..thanks for ur teaching..sir generalised displacement and velocity ka vdo mil nhi rha...

Pe keval theta kaise hame r bhi to batana padega ?
R is fixed
Plz share degree of freedom link... Plz send more vdo on classical mechanics.. For Csir Net
Aap Classical mechanics k videos yaha pe check kare

I have a doubt sir k hum sirf theta se kaisay position bta sktay hain kia hamain radius ki zaroorat nahi aur agar hay to phir kaisay ye generalized coordinates huay?? please reply sir
Radius ko fix rakhenge toh hum theta se position bata sakte h.
Aur waise bhi radius har jagah same hota h
@@Eduphile Thank you Very Much Sir and Keep up the Good work
Sir could you please give the other examples for generalised coordinates as theta for circle?
Hum log jald hi iss pe base problems karenge
Particle on a surface also possess two degrees of freedom. There is not just theta angle but distance of particle from the origin also we need, so there's also 2 degrees of freedom.
Yes but radius is fixed so we can tell about the particle just using angle
@@Eduphile okay...👍🏻👍🏻
How theta alone could tell the position of a particle? isn't the radius also necessary?
Radius is necessary but agar radius fix h toh hum theta se position bata sakte h
Can you make a video on generalized velocities
Aap ye video dekhe

Here the two particles also have the same coordinate ie 3 coordinate but why would be the coordinate 6??
Please tell me sir
Mai question nhi samjha aap Ka dost aap Instagram pe poochiye

@@quantumlahary3924 I think because these particles are moving so that's y they need individual coordinates. suppose particle A has 3 coordinates, with that 3 coordinates we can't find out the position of particle B because particle A &B are moving that's y we need individual coordinates for each particle thats y 6 coordinates for 2 particles. if n particles are there then 3n coordinates are needed( particles are moving; not at rest).I think this is the answer but I m not sure..if u got the right answer please comment
Air how can we spilt any factor In it's horizontal or vertical components??
Please explain via a video!
I shall try
Sir make video on a general expression for Kinetic energy
Sir, when two particles are joined along one direction only, why is the degree of freedom reduced to 5 instead of 4? Please explain this. Keep up the good work.
1 particle has 3 degree of freedom
So , 2 particles have 6 degree of freedom.
If we join two particles then degree of freedom reduces to 5. Why?
Because the particles can move everywhere except the line joining two particles, because the joining line of two particles is fix , it can not be changed
So , degree of freedom reduces to 5
@@Eduphile Why not 4? I am not able to grasp this concept.
@@Real.Forever degree of freedom(d.f) is total no. Of independent coordinates.... 2 particles when constrained then you may have intuition of d.f=6 ...but when you know the equation, you can find out the 6th unknown coordinate with help of 5 given coordinates and constraint value. That means 6th coordinate is not independent ,so d.f=(6-1)=5
@@ayandandapat6920 What will be the generalised co-ordinate here?
What is independent co-ordinate ?
Plz sir upload spherical nd cylinderical coordinate..
I shall try

Sir theta ke sath radius bhi to rhta hai
Haan but radius toh fix h dost
@Eduphile what will be the genralised co-ordinates for two masses attached with a massless rod?
Thank you sir
number of independent coordinates and degree of freedom same hota hai jb hum 2 particles ko join kr k restriction lga dain tou
What is mean by independent co-ordinate
@@mandarj540 it is the no of possible co-ordinate to explain the position of a particle. It is 2 for a particle rotating in circular plane in your video. But min. no. of independent co-ordinate (generalized co-ordinate or DOF) is 1.
Theta se position ksise bta sakte h
Bilkul bata sakte h Jaise maan lijiye 45° h toh position Kuch aur hoga , 60° hoga toh position Kuch aur hoga

Can we say that the degrees of freedom is equal to no. of generalized coordinates?
In some cases

Constraints
u said only theta can locate the position of particle . What about the radius r? dont you think the generalised coordinate theta and r ?
i have the same question too @Eduphile
Why is the generalized coordinate for a particle moving on a circle "theta" only? Shouldn't it be both radius and theta?
Because radius is fix but theta is not
@@Eduphile Thank you, sir.
@Eduphile The aim of applying constraint force here is to have a fix radius, I think. Is it correct sir
Kya aap mujhe Degrees of freedom and Generalized coordinates ke beech ka difference batha sakte hai?
Number of independent degrees of freedom is generalised coordinate.
Jaise aapne two Particle ko join kiya toh degree of freedom 6 hona chahiye but join karne se ek degree of freedom nahi rahega , toh isliye independent degrees of freedom 5 honge
Thank you
