If your supply is too big to stop escapes and you dont take the free range scareslime-less garden plots in the cave expansion route, you can always hunt for "pure" hunters and NOT make them largos... That last option only has one choke point: finding them. Gordos, snares to make more gordos, and extreme luck are your only other options to get "pure" hunters. Ive heard, but havent checked or confirmed, that there is a hard limit of 2 wild "pure" hunters in moss blanket at any one time, and with the addition of their cloaking (invisibility), that makes it hard to get large quantities of them.
I've played and watched Slime Rancher so much that it's actually really nice to see someone's first reaction to it, and to play "non optimally" like not knowing you can just skip the Moss Blanket door entirely with some weird jetpack parkour, not buying the grotto for the phosphor's so you don't need to buy a solar shield and actually buying a pond for puddle slimes instead of putting them down by the docks. Also the fact that it's Poxial just makes it all the better!
Wait you can skip the moss blanket door????? I always start by getting 20 of two different foods, then I feed the pink slime Gordo at the start, then I open moss blanket and get honey, hunter slimes, then take them to the ranch and mix them to start off. (all in the first day because the game is almost eight years old and I've played the game since the full release and was able to find many strategies that were fun and easy!)

Unlocking the ancient ruins door is perhaps the most joy I've gotten from a game, purely from the sounds. It's my favorite part of Slime Rancher, I really hope the new game eventually has those sounds too

The Dervish are really messy--plorts and their food everywhere, almost as bad as the Boom Slimes. Mine got to live down at the Docks where they could cause as much chaos as their little slimy hearts desired without the danger of creating Tarr. Wow! I forgot just how pretty this game is! Thank you for the trip down memory lane--Slime Rancher still has a special place in my heart, and it was a joy watching you discover how much fun the game is! ☺🤗💟 ***Be sure to check back into the game around December, the devs have a special series of events every year!

I was super invested in slime rancher back when it was in early beta as well but after a couple years lost track of the game. Around half a year ago I rediscovered and fell in love with it and the second game as well all over again. Lots of tears lol

ah not a glitch, just unfortunate timing. Slimes take a couple seconds to eat, 'swallow' and then spawn the plorts. Poxial spooked the gold slime while it was eating so it despawned before spawning the plorts. Unless the plorts really did just glitch outta the map.

I wonder why 100% runs are so unpopular, it’s so fun being able to experience the full intentions of the game devs, plus I would imagine how accomplishing it feels for the person, I played 100% of Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 and that was like a blissful moment

I followed it throughout the beta, since 0.3 or 0.4 I think, and it's changed so much. Loved every update and I'm happy I stumbled upon your video.

Love this game so much and good to see it getting some love even to this day. My favorite slime is definitely the Dervish, and I'm a huge fan of Dervish-Mosaic and Saber-Hunter largos! 🥺 My favorite thing to do with the Lab is have two pens for Pinks-Quantums and two gardens for the phase lemons, and just let them go to town. They give me the plorts I need for the lab, they're easy to feed, and they can't go crazy in the main areas by getting out of their pens!
considering how hard it is to keep quantums contained on extended expeditions away from the ranch, i resorted to dedicating an entire expansion to letting them run free with fruit trees (and no scare slimes) to keep them fed. Well, if i am already letting them go free in an expansion, none are better than the cave for the winding tunnels doing a good job keeping them contained to an open area. (dock risks them wandering into the slime sea and is the smallest, overgrowth has little in the way of containment, lab is a combination of both of the former and basically needs to have an overpopulated pink slime coral to supply the resources for extractors, and main just gets in the way of everything with the same risks for wandering too far.) Well, largos are more profitable, so what do i combine them with? That's easy: the cave has the added bonus of protecting phosphor slimes without needing to buy a solar shield. Quantum Phosphor largos it is. If i make the bottom 4 plots fruit trees of their favorite types to keep them fed without any effort, that leaves 2 plots by the main ranch. What they are barely matters, but when it comes time to automatize with drones, it is good to have a silo on hand to hold everything, at least until i can set up a market and refinery link. I would also put the incinerator there to keep it out of the way if not for the fact a free range slime risks wandering in, and as the cave gets more full of slimes i dont have to worry about escaping, the chances increase that a pond will become accidentally overpopulated stopping puddle slimes from producing. (there is a limit of 4 per pond before they become too shy, and a single liked slime toy increases that cap by 1, but doesnt stack).
The amount of frustration I personally felt around the gold slimes drove me nuts as to never want to touch rush mode, but I guess if you 100%'d it; I should go back and grab those last three too :( (:

I got slime rancher 2 years ago for my birthday on switch and had to buy a new switch because my original switch broke and I had made a lot of progress like rank 24 in the 7zee club and a ton of achievements. I'm still playing slime rancher to this day and is one of my favourite games, thank you Poxial
Can you please play Potion Permit? It has a Stardew Valley feel to it but you basically play witch doctor by making potions out of items you collect around the island and heal the villagers. I really love it's art style, it's pixelated but it feels so fluid and animatic.

As someone who has put a good 50 hours into the game I *definitely* recommend. This is definitely one of those games where watching and experiencing it yourself are two different things. I remember getting super excited finding new slimes 🥰
3:16 just letting you know its canon that gordo slimes are just a bunch of slimes that got too close together and fused becoming big and immobile so feeding them doesnt make the gordo die in any way, it basically you freeing those slimes that were fused

Cult of the lamb took me soooo long and pretty much as soon as I finished 100% it the sins of the flesh update came out 💀). I remember trying to 100% it and couldn’t which… to be fair was when I was less serious about perfecting games but STILL! The story is so sweet and discovering new slimes/areas are so great. It always got me super excited finding something new lol

You may have gotten all the achievements, but there are still more things to do! I have seen other people already mention other stuff but there's one thing I haven't seen. Play during Christmas time and explore around, you'll know when you find it. You can just set your PC time to be christmas if you don't wanna wait.
I played this for the first and only time a few years ago. I was enjoying the hell out of it, and surprised my friends with how far I had gotten. And more so when they realized I didn't have the jet pack lol. I just completely forgot about that one monitor to buy stuff from. Played for maybe 3-4 hours I guess. Was pretty fun.
If there's one game that makes the otherwise cringe and cheesy writing work it's this one. All the "It was always about love" tropes are there and somehow they work out perfectly in a game that you can complete without ever paying any attention to the story This is why I love indie devs

I loved slime rancher it was a nice little cozy game which the exception of the tar which then it turns into horror quite quickly
Can you please play Potion Permit? It has a Stardew Valley feel to it but you basically play witch doctor by making potions out of items you collect around the island and heal the villagers. I really love it's art style, it's pixelated but it feels so fluid and animatic.

As someone who has put a good 50 hours into the game I *definitely* recommend. This is definitely one of those games where watching and experiencing it yourself are two different things. I remember getting super excited finding new slimes 🥰

3:16 just letting you know its canon that gordo slimes are just a bunch of slimes that got too close together and fused becoming big and immobile so feeding them doesnt make the gordo die in any way, it basically you freeing those slimes that were fused

Ive been a fan of slime rancher but i never got to play it since i can’t spend money online. I loved playing slime rancher 2 with the xbox game pass, i think the original is better even tho ive never been able to play it. Love your videos

But seriously this is impressive (not that you 100% all the other games aren’t. Cult of the lamb took me soooo long and pretty much as soon as I finished 100% it the sins of the flesh update came out 💀). I remember trying to 100% it and couldn’t which… to be fair was when I was less serious about perfecting games but STILL! The story is so sweet and discovering new slimes/areas are so great. It always got me super excited finding something new lol

You may have gotten all the achievements, but there are still more things to do! I have seen other people already mention other stuff but there's one thing I haven't seen. Play during Christmas time and explore around, you'll know when you find it. You can just set your PC time to be christmas if you don't wanna wait.

I played this for the first and only time a few years ago. I was enjoying the hell out of it, and surprised my friends with how far I had gotten. And more so when they realized I didn't have the jet pack lol. I just completely forgot about that one monitor to buy stuff from. Played for maybe 3-4 hours I guess. Was pretty fun.

If there's one game that makes the otherwise cringe and cheesy writing work it's this one. All the "It was always about love" tropes are there and somehow they work out perfectly in a game that you can complete without ever paying any attention to the story
