I could stare that that balance wheel for hours. Little innovations are rightfully celebrated in horology but this is something more special; a beautiful departure and a triumph for the art.

De Bethune is a great engineering and watch brand. I love their blue titanium model and also their three dimensional moon phase. Alas it costs to play in this space - but worth every penny.

I’m not unreservedly enthusiastic about all their pieces, but the DB15 is one of their models which ticks every box as far as I’m concerned. Aesthetically it’s a triumph (especially in coloured gold) and, so far as the engineering goes, it’s a knock-out.
Honestly, De Bethune watches, like the Starry Varius, could have been the next Chronometer Blu, but unlike F.P. Journe, De Bethune raised the price of the Starry Varius to match the resell price, so people didn't notice the massive hike from 20K to 100k in that line.
