Hey there guys, just posting this link as reference material to the MikroTIk docs for more information on the CLI: help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Command+Line+Interface
For your knowledge, the hAP does have a serial port. And as far as I assume; anything else with a USB port also does. I have connected a USB serial cable directly into the USB A port on a hAP & hEX, you just need the right cable If you have a USB to serial cable, plug it in and you will see that serial interface comes up
It's a fairly niche skillset, there are definitely a lot of WISPs or altnets that uses a lot of MikroTik equipment so if you apply to those types of companies you will get scooped up quickly. Although it can be a bit harder to convince a company that uses other vendors like Juniper/Cisco
😂 That was defintely not my attention, I think you may be right though. I usually do add background music for some ambience usually its unnoticible. Thanks for your input
Could anyone help me help myself here? I'm learning through these videos and others, but keep running into issues. I think my Mikrotik router is flagging certain types of traffic as invalid after disconnecting my PC from a cloud-based VPN provider (Proton). SSH and ping traffic to a local pi-hole server gets caught by my `drop invalid` firewall rule. On the first boot, it works, on connecting to Proton, it works (port forwarded). When disconnecting from Proton, suddenly I can't SSH or ping my local pi-hole server. Tailscale may also be driving some of these issues, but I'm confident Proton is the primary source. I just don't know what is happening or how to fix it.
It’s got pros and cons.. for the switches I wish it was easier to do range commands for interfaces, but aside from that. You can get used to it and it’s not to bad..

Thank you for your fierce returning to making mikrotik videos .. much needed..
There is defintiely a lot of things I still want to go over, but I am looking forward to it
absolutely
Thanks for the lesson 👏
@@ViniciusDias-hd4bp Thank you for tuning in.

Ah thanks for that I honestly have never tried to console using the USB port on it, I'll have to test this out if I can get the appropriate cable
Proud viewer of 6th episode. Thank You for the video. saw the docs link posted above. Internal Chat System is cool.
Great video as usual...!!!
What's industry demand for MikroTik engineers like?

What is the command for "show running-config" in Mikrotik ?
The "export" command will show you the running configuration. I will be covering this in an upcoming vid
14:50 have you found a solution to print all issued commands in the past (maybe until boot time or the last 100 commands)?
Fantastic information presented in a clear and concise manner. But please lose the music. It sounds like I'm at the spa getting a massage.

Mikrotik cli is the worst I've ever seen! Whoever introduced it is probably far from understanding the meaning of user-friendliness and functionality!

Does cisco have UI config? Or still in terminal?
