FUN FACT: Like so many other Konami games of the '80s and '90s kind of the difficulty quietly wraps up the more powerful you make your aircraft and/or which weaponry you choose. The game seems to be at its most difficult when one is equipped with the double Vulcan or double laser and the second level of bomb power up.
DEFINITELY HAS SOME SORT OF INVINCIBILITY OPTION ENTERED IN!😂 I DID QUITE A FEW FRAME BY FRAME OBSERVATIONS AND THE ENEMY FIRE WAS PASSING THROUGH HIM. STILL A FANTASTIC WALKTHROUGH!! MANY MEMORIES, UNFORTUNATELY VERY LIMITED USE OF SUPER BOMBS!🎉
we had this at the local arcade, nobody ever beat the game. i think the farthest i got was around the 20 min mark in this video, before the stage 7 boss. that stage 6 boss still gives me nightmares. looks like i almost beat the game though...
This was one of my study breaks in college since they still had arcades then. I used to be able to beat this, In The Hunt, and the Capcom horizontal shooters on a single quarter after a lot of practice along with some other games like the 4 person X-Men. Stage 6 endboss and Stage 7 took a lot of work. Raiden when it came out was my personal limit; I never beat that or Raiden II on a single quarter. It reminds me a lot of Lightning Fighters. Thank you to the channel host for posting this. I've been looking for this...for a very long time and I knew instantly that I had found it when I heard the Stage 1 theme.
Perfect for the 4th of July!! It is Patriotism for the Arcade of Konami. The ending is perfect for this theme. "You have saved the clutches of evil"? Uhh are they missing something here? I think its "You have saved from the clutches of evil" Would've made sense!
The game alternates between top-scrolling 2D shooting with the Apache helicopter, and (primitive) 3D sequences with the F-14. Coincidentally, the last stage is a jet stage where your ship is somehow worthy of space travel and defeats the last boss, an entire enemy planetoid. This alternation between 2D and 3D stages almost certainly inspired its spiritual successor, Konami's "Axelay," on the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom over a decade later.
It’s so, SO much harder than twin cobra though. You have *no* idea. 😂😂😂 This playthrough leaves you with zero impression of *just* how unforgiving this game is, even on easy settings. Your hitbox is HUGE compared to other shmups, and the starting weapons and bombs are slllooooooowwww. It’s incredibly fun, though!
Dont know why but Konami would always overly saturate their colors in the arcade games in the 80s. The 90s is where they got it right with the right balance tone.
It wasn't just Konami. Data East, Capcom, even SEGA was doing this. In fact, every arcade game developer did this in the 80s. Personally, I quite like it
These sound effects would hook me as a kid in the 80s
They sure as hell did me.
Hilarious. Airplane flys off the ship and a helicopter shows. Lol
One of the best Konami shooters out there. And the sound where you pick up a weapon, nice!

Easy with the FuN fAcT there
This is the most difficult Konami game ever
Are you telling us that Castlevania and Contra are cakewalks compared to this?
Gradius III: Am i a joke to you?
@@darkerfalcon3747 Also Contra III Alien wars (hard mode)
It's coming to Switch even. Giving me a lot to think about.
Incredible playing

I used to walk miles to a Pizza Hut that had this game with a few quarters when I was a kid. The rest is History.

It's the engrish. Basically Japanese trying to write in English with often hilarious results.
@@hemidas Already know that anyway!
Indeed it often happends during the golden age of Arcades.
“You have saved the clutches of evil!”
What the wha...no, that’s the *opposite* of what I wanted!
We did it! We rescued the clutches of evil!
...are we the baddies in this game?
Que gratos recuerdos me trajo este juego mi favorito a los 10 años. Lastima que no pude coronarlo en el arcade original no pasaba del Stage 6.
I Love Masami Kurumada's Spaceship
Exelente game
Deadpool : "It's Francis."
Does this mean that Player one controlling Helicopter and Player two controlling Plane?
Apparently there is a boy band with the same name now....
An F 14 lifts off. Plays with a chopper.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸
Happy Canada day. 🇨🇦
The heli sections looks a lot like the ones from twin cobra, even some of the power ups are the same...

So has Konami turned this arcade classic into a pachinko machine yet?
Nope, but it will release this game as a stand alone game on the Arcade Archives for Switch and ps4 in a few hours (it's already out in Japan)
Me recuerda mi niñez ❤
Nice shooter hope you like
Gradius coincidences
This game has the same power-up system as Gradius and the Top-Down Gameplay of TwinBee.
Basically Gradius X Xevious with MiG-29 SF Section? ?
is it pronounced as A-Jacks or Eye-Yax
Pronounced like the cleaner, also called Ajax (A Jacks).
AH-64 Tom Tiger and F-14 Jerry Mouse

@@solarflare9078 on certain sega arcade games the colors looked washed out.
@@solarflare9078 what I meant that some games like this one and the contra games did have the right balance tone.
Got dam thay level 6 boss...im not gona play this anymore its hard as fk
What would Typhoon look like on the NES?
Damn but this game was hard.
23:09 Contra Easter Egg 🐣
Alguien que me diga como lo puedo encomendar la App Store para descargarlo a mi teléfono
I prefer the name Typhoon over A-Jax
もうちょっと本当っぽくやれよ
Konami, where are you............. :(
