Thanks for watching. One of the best bang for buck is the scarlett solo or if you can afford more a motu m2. The scarlett can be found for 120 new and about 80 used. Just make sure it's a Gen 3.

Well isn't a phantom power supply a good thing when it comes to recording drums within a band? Because there are many dynamic mics but only the overheads of the drums use phantom power...would that be a good use? Because I am scared that I'd destroy the dynamic mics if I put phantom power on the whole mixer only because of two overheads...
i have the bm800 setup but the original mixer failed. I just got a teyun na4 which has xlr/phone multiports with 48 volt phantom and a 50Hz noise gate. i was curious about whether the bm800 is good enough for voice and instrumentation tracks and even maybe eventually some live streaming. so far I guess it's good enough. i also have a tascam dp-01 track recorder/editor that only has usb for sharing the final mix back to my computer but already with this stuff I have more features than I have even used yet. I have about 10 instruments and voice potential and have been experimenting with track recording for at least 10 years. I do have a 5v phantom powered usb/3.5mm similar to the bm800 (also shock mounted on a boom) from vegue and a portable rolling digital/analog karaoke rig from vegue. that rig also has some wireless condenser mics which are more for live performance than track recording. eventually I hope to finish some stuff and upload it to facebook and maybe YT but right now my channel is just for listening/watching other stuff and getting ideas.

That's a great question!! So nowadays the usb mics have improved so much. The at2050 is a good mic it's just the phantom power destroys it's quality. I know this might sound crazy but the elgato wave 3 mic with the wave software can do sooo much. You can app free vst's and have several pluggins that make your audio amazing. Just look at what this software does to this blue yeti it sounds really good at the end. This was using a stream deck plus which allows you to use any usb mic. The wave 3 is really good too. @@ThisisDakash it really all depends what you want an xlr mic but I'd get a audio interface or a usb by elgato that you can have full control with audio routing and vst's to enhance your voice. You're decision.
I’m a bit confused. you don’t really go into how you hook up the phantom power supply to your computer or your camera. my guess is that you are using a built-in interface somewhere instead of the USB of the interface

My BM700 (little brother to 800) plugs directly into the mic input of my computer with the supplied cable, running off the mic power from the computer.
First thanks for watching..ok if your just using your phone you may just want to use a regular lav mic for cheap. The other choice may be a wireless mic like the pixel voical air that I just did a video on. Hope that helps.
@@winter.coffee a xlr mic is a good way to start but a good audio interface is important. The bm800 is cheap and can get the job done. A good audio interface will cost a decent amount but you will have it for years.

Hi Brenda! Thanks for watching. The quality difference between the neewer and the Scarlett or motu is huge. There would be no question the audio interface would be the better choice.

The phantom power has no preamp, so the signal is low voltage, so ya gotta turn it up, and you hear the self noise of whatever you use to turn it up. The pre amp on the interface means that signal is already turned up to line level when it arrives at your computer or other target.
Sir can i ask, is the Beringer U phoria interface could boosts my SM 58 while using in a live streaming? I want to make the sound louder and clearer. Since the interface has a gain. And phantom power wont work in dynamic mics
The beringer um2 will work ok better then nothing. But a better choice would be a a scarlett solo. I know its double the price but you will get a much better audio interface. With more gain.
Nothing wrong with that setup. That's a perfect way to upgrade your audio. CONGRATS!! Just make sure you have your xlr cable for your mic and some headphones or earbuds to monitor your output. 👍

the phantom power device isn't meant to replace an audio interface, you use it with interfaces that don't have phantom power ...
In content creation many people are using the phantom power supply by itself.

this is not a good way phantom ps have 2 variant: a simple power connector AND usb power, and to me use the usb power in charger make a ground issue

Phantom power is used with condenser mics or when you add a mic booster like a fet head or cloudlifter to a dynamic mic or you will damage the mic.

I personally don't use mac products for streaming. A focusrite solo or 2i2 would be fine though.

If you’re making music. Audio interface sounds way cleaner than a power supply. No comparison. Hands down.
