The music at it is a disaster. Scott is not a choreographer. His reference point for all things beautiful is Tessa. Tessa was beautiful for herself. Her movement vocabulary was fully explored in all her own. Christina is not Tessa. Also, I gave him a break last season because he was recovering, but Anthony looks like he spends time Drinking craft beer instead of hitting the gym. He’s slow and sluggish and his posture is not great and he’s not in good shape.
That’s harsh. Aren’t they glad you’re not a judge? I think they are a great team and this program will evolve as the season goes on. Btw, I remember Tessa virtue messing up many times over the years. She was far from perfect. Just saying…..
@@starsmoon0216 I’m waiting on you to tell me that what I said was somehow untrue. Anthony is not fit in compared to the senior male dance competitors that he’s against, he’s in last place. He likes presents, he’s a bit less clumsy than he used to be, but his posture is a run of the meal. Christina is being held back by him and it was her who was the weak link years ago. Her improvement is evident. He is humdrum and not special and the worst of which is he is out of shape. That’s before we get to this awful hodgepodge music with edits that don’t make sense. There are moves copied from the original Carmen that Scott did with Tessa that only show that there was a complete lack and creativity. Madison Hubble is one of the best female ice dancers from a power standpoint and from a Skating skill standpoint, but her level of taste has often been questionedand it’s showing in her team. Also, Scott is no choreographer.
Sorry to say, but if Christina isn't Tessa, Anthony certainly isn't Scott either. There is a truth in your comment: Anthony is not in good physical shape at all, especially for what must be a dancer. And, probably, Anthony's physical situation could greatly affect his performance. It's his choices. Scott and Tessa were extremely elegant, with a physical shape, which would facilitate them to have greater flexibility in their dance movements. Scott and Tessa had immense speed and performed magic on the ice.
I personally like the program, and I think it's quite different from Virtue/Moir's modern Carmen. But they do look a bit out of shape, especially Anthon Ponomarenko. Christina Carreira has put on weight too, but she still seems to be in a better shape than him. But even with that, their skating itself is quite good for the beginning of the season. No use in comparing them to Virtue/Moir overall, as V/M were a once in a generation team, just very special, and no one is like them. There were Papadakis/Cizeron who were at least equal to them, probably even better in some aspects by the end of their competitive career, but they were very different from Virtue/Moir.
so much criticism from the comments! it's a good performance that will soon get its polishing as the season progresses
