I play on old gen ps4 is a way better game than next gen. The lineups are still there and no skatting. Best realistic game ever old gen only. Next gen EAFC is crap.

As a serious fc24 player since fifa 07 career mode i agree with everything you said Ricky! The biggest problem is, ea doesn’t have any other competition! They dont care, no one else has another football game to play with i mean lets look at Efootball they are finished, i enjoyed playing pes 2021 and felt much more realistic but because of master league having an annoying bug when you start a new season no money or any winnings carry on to the next season i keep starting of with nothing! I'm so glad that I have found your channel with real, fact based critics of football games. I'm PES fan. I play PES (with all the different names) from 1997 up until today. I have always wanted from football game to be as much as realistic as it can be. Because of that from PES 2015 I play on full manual controls, and never got back to assisted controls. Full manual football is closest thing to football simulation on video games, with so much freedom with ball speed, power and trajectories. As in real football you can make bad and unprecise passes, bad shots etc. On assisted controls is so easy and annoying, and I can not believe that anybody older than 15 years is playing on assisted. I think full manual playing should be more promoted, thats why your channel and critics are great. Its funny to think that we are in the year 2024. and football simulation games are as bad as they never was. Efootball is much much better than EAFC, but they need to bring back and promote offline and authentic teams mode. For couple of years feels like we are playing demo and unfinished game. Luckly there are couple of great communities of full manual players on discord, so efootball on full manual can be decent pleasure this season. Greetings from Serbia!

Na pes is terrible. Obviously 3 years behind tbf with the game being old but players turn like lorries, don’t run properly, shooting & keeper animations are shocking. EAFC far from perfect just don’t get the pes hype
You mention the biggest problem in the game is the AI, it's a big problem ofc but it's far from being the biggest, the biggest by far are the physics (or lack there of). There's no momentum, players change direction and go from full sprint to full stop instantly, and move as if they're hovering rather than running on the pitch. The ball is not a proper object with it's own physics, it travels on the ground at 500 kms/h glued to the pitch like a hockey puck, and when receiving a pass, rather than take a touch to control the super fast travelling ball coming towards them, they seem to just absorb it into their magnetic field, and while moving, the ball just moves with them, again as if it's bound to some magnetic field, rather than being kicked back and forth. It's truly bizarre, physics wise fifas from 10 years ago were wayyyy better, more detailed and more life like.
Basically it feels like a fucking hockey game. The way how players gliding on the pitch and how the ball feels like a hockey puck when it travels so fast and they just absorb it instead of controling it. EA also makes NHL games so who knows..? Maybe they're the same devs lol.

Yeah. I'm glad i stopped playing 3 months back. I'm currently in the process of moving into a flat. The first game I'm going to hop onto is Apex. I still somewhat keep up with FIFA content but, mostly the TH-camrs complaining about the game, and it's shocking state
Glad someone spoke of this. And let's not mention the same 3 cutscenes of players getting a yellow card. Getting a penalty doesn't even have it's own special cutscene anymore. And the corner and goal kick cutscenes are so sped up and repetitive it's actually unreal. Ruined this game from FIFA 22 onwards. If you go back and play FIFA 18 these problems were not in the game.
I think the problem with FIFA's games now is they just abandoned physics ever since they moved to this new engine. The players don't even seem to have physical bodies. If you go back in time to FIFA 14, FIFA 16, I don't think anyone of us could imagine how bad it would get and how the FIFA fans seem so okay with it today
I realise I'll probably get a load of criticism in the comments for this post, but as the creator of a pretty comprehensive FC24 gameplay mod, I thought I'd weigh in with some of my thoughts here. First of all - I'm not some FUT player, in fact I've never played it in my life. I'm also not a PES hater and not a FIFA/FC fan boy. I've played PES for many, many years as well, and really enjoy it also (old school PES more so than modern). I'm not here to defend the issues that exist within FC24. I'm here because there is an EXTREMELY good game of football underneath many of these issues - with the correct changes. I completely understand the skepticism, but all I ask is, instead of judging from afar, you give it a run first! I've put in hundreds and hundreds of hours into gameplay modding for FC24 to improve every single aspect of the gameplay. This goes from movement to off-ball positioning, to AI, to mechanics to goalkeepers - EVERYTHING. I've created a huge range of over 50+ additional options so people can customise their gameplay experience to their own interpretation of 'realism'. Of course I'm not here to say it's the perfect game - nothing is, but my aim is to try and get us to drop some of the tribalism that can exist and give it a chance. The truth is that this game does have so much depth and variety to it, and there are so many aspects that would really appeal to a PES player. I know many people who love PES, and have always disliked FC/FIFA, who are thoroughly enjoying FC24 with my mod. I'm not wanting to get into philosophical debates about why things should or shouldn't be a certain way and I agree that many of these things should be changed by EA in the default game, but I'm just someone who is just trying to do what I can with what I have access to, to create a realistic game of football - and there is DEFINITELY a game here if you're willing to try it. You will find a game where stats matter, where the movement and 'skating' has been dramatically improved (not perfect of course, as we need EA to introduce a more physics based animation system, but there are big improvements here), where the CPU defends and actually plays football against you, where the ball is FREE and not stuck like glue to the foot, where you see fouls, huge changes to the physicality/interactions, a game where you need to build up, where there's proper midfield resistance and pressing, tactical variety, long shots, long passes, crosses, where passing/shooting and overall pace has been toned down - etc etc. Ricky, I'd love for you to give the current version of my mod a run (V20 'Full Gameplay Package'). It's only on PC of course but I think you might surprise yourself if you played it. Send me a message if you want to give it a try. Again, I understand the skepticism, but give it a run! For anyone keen on giving it a go, V20 is the latest version. V13 is the current public version, but there have been months of development since that point - V20 is the version you want to play. 2024 is almost halfway done and the only footie game still worth playing is PES2021, released in 2020. Death knell for offline footy games. I think it's well beyond hopeless now especially for offline players.
There’s a reason I play PES 6 (Firebird patch 2023). The modders just tweaked the gameplay to play a bit more like a modern footy game i.e. more time on the ball etc but it’s still PES6 which is just a fun, simple football game. Modern Football games are trying to be too intricate with animations and use heavy scripting to make things happen that would happen in a real game but ultimately it feels completely fake.
I played fifa 19 today and I enjoyed it a lot. I find fifa better on the pc but efootball is better on mobile . After Fifa19 everything went downhill .
I gave the game a go just like this and found myself equally frustrated with the awful AI and messy animations. Unfortunately they don't need to make a good game these days - they have basically no compeition!

The problem is, I don't disagree with what your saying. But PES for someone like me who isn't computer savvy to get PES anywhere near EA is so hard. To know what to download to know how to put it into the game is far to hard. So EA at least all the licensing is there etc.

EA 25 will go like this..... 1. Introducing all new 'analysis' defending. 2. Introducing all new 'pulse' dribbling. 3. Introducing all new 'clinical' shooting. 4. Shows 'all new' career mode features. (Just cut scenes essentially that have no outcome or effect) just to squeeze more money out through the offline players with hope. 5. TH-camrs screaming at the camera waffling about the new features and how it could be the most realistic yet for 20 mins just to get that repeated yearly video done and hopefully make 10 quid off it against 100000 of the same other youtubers. 6. Game releases and again 14.6 million youtubers all doing the same thing opening packs and playing at 500mph. 7. EA laugh for another year and say "as long as these youtubers are getting paid doing ultimate team and folk following them....lets do it again and release the same game but updated muhahahaha" 8. Repeat every year onwards.
Some of my main issues with FIFA. 1. Every player has amazing ball control and everyone can play flawless tiki taka. 2. AI doesn't cross and doesn't take shots from outside the box. It will literally run into space for a great cross but refuse to cross and turn around, ruining a potential chance. They always try to walk it in no matter who it is. As long as you don't give the AI a super obvious forward pass, it will always knock it back and forth aimlessly outside of your box and all you have to do is run it down and take the ball back. That's the extent of it's AI. There is no sense of it ever actually looking for the pass or trying to set something up. You can test this too, wait for the AI to get confused because there is no forward pass available (usually it will just jog slowly backwards with the ball basically since it refuses to play the ball backwards) and then when it's moving backwards you open up a forward pass for it and watch how fast it turns around and plays the ball to that player. Like the player has eyes in the back of his head. It's so dumb. It will not play obvious great passes just because the AI calculated that there was an open player closer to goal even though realistically the pass makes no sense and the through ball down the wing was the obvious choice. It will literally fall on it's ass attempting to hoof it to someone who it calculated was open further up when the player on the ball is turned towards the wing and there is a great pass to make there.
All you bitter people out there. Fc24 has achieved the BEST gameplay ever iin any football video game ever. I am not being a contrarian, after i out in about 50 hours i learned to appreciate it.

To your mention of Ignite on 22:25. Ricky if you have time, give a chance to FIFA 16 (the last game on Ignite engine in the series) Career Mode. I still play FIFA 16 on full manual and on Legendary difficulty in 2024 and I find it the more way better than modern FIFA or FC whatever they call it. FIFA 16 is decent to send time, play, and get fun.
Look i love your vid ,I’m still an EAFC been a player most of my life when certain moment going whit Konami or PES and all , of course they are bad physics and stuff that makes 0 sense when slowed down totally but i still can get some fun whit the game whit proper sliders when i slow down the game slow down the passing put the widht and height of teams more compact like real life i enjoy the game but yeah it still have lots and lots of work to be done , but E football is also a joke whit plenty of bugs and Football Life is basically playing a 2019-2020 old gen game whit update roster we are just in football gaming desert right now everything is dry hopefully FIFA sale their licences to 2k or something and proper game gets create soon !!
Same complaint I have, the AI. They stand their, they run away from the ball, they run beside the player the ball without putting a fut, they hold up the ball when not needed, they stop running, [they back pass into opponents etc etc etc
If you went back and played fifa 15, you'd be shocked to see how hugely better the gameplay was before the frostbite era trash. (still worse than PES though). Speaking of... you could try out some older FIFAs and we'll get some new content to watch!
I turned it off after 10 minutes and deleted it from my playstation. U couldn't pay me to play it again. Its the worst football game I've ever played and I've been playing them since 1995.
When there is no competition there is nothing called different but when it's a competition that is where you see difference EA will never lasts forever there will be a different football game
In FIFA 23 i've seen AI players do magic tricks with their feet, just moving them around the ball nonsensically. Incredibly unrealistic stuff that, to make matters worse, the human player can't do, and it's impossible to defend. Also 90% of times the player is one-and-one with the keeper: goal, which made some matches finish 7-4 or bs like that. Stuff like that made me realize these newer FIFA and EAFC games are just not for offline players anymore.
Played Player career mode on EA FC 24 the other day on Ultimate. 10 mins into the game and I’d bagged a hattrick by running through the midfield (same as 19:43) Doesn’t mean I’m good, it means the game is too easy or unbalanced which I’ve always found is an issue with fifa for years. Says it all really… Also, the amount of cutscenes is actually comical, it’s like they spent all the budget on adding cutscenes and offside technology. Put THAT effort into the gameplay🤣
to note: when you want to control the next player you think it normally should select the player who is nearest to the ball. Not anytime in FC 24. sometimes you wonder wich player you get to play next so a bit strange for myself. FIFA 17 is way better. even when flanks are overpowered when you play against a friend
Football games are regressing badly. These games are nowhere near eFootball or even old Fifa from the golden era. Nice graphics that's all we've gone. Physics and animations aren't there. Is this what we were meant to get served up in the high def era?

Paid for the game a few months ago probably played for a week max and haven’t gone back since. Needed a ML fix and after playing 20 seasons on PES 21 I needed something new. Career mode is complete trash. Bugs, transfer window, objectives all broken.
Oh and the gameplay man what’s happened. Haven’t enjoyed the gameplay since FIFA 15/16. Last couple of years they’ve had issues but this game is unplayable.
I bought FC24 on release, uninstalled it a couple of months later, and have been playing Football Life 2024 instead - it's night and day. PES has its own problems and there are plenty of things that are frustrating about it, but playing full manual, passing it around, it's the only way to get a realistic game. Even on full manual, FC24 players just sprint back and forth, covering the midfield like a frenzy of ice-skating ducks on crack. But also, playing career mode without any match intros is depressing - the whole game has been tilted towards Ultimate Team and it's god awful.

I've played more of EAFC 24 than I was expecting to. It's been an OK distraction from a now four-year obsession with PES 2021. Unfortunately FC 24 is far too open to be taken seriously. It's a video game based on football, with video game values (speed, pick up and play, constant action, a fear of boring the player). Sometimes it surprises me with how decent it can feel, and I think, if only that could be the dominant strand. Then it goes stupid again. I'm far from a great footy game player but even I can run the whole length of the pitch with a single player and score. And a big bugbear for me: semi-assisted passing feels too assisted. I won't play with sliders.

I've put in hundreds and hundreds of hours into gameplay modding for FC24 to improve every single aspect of the gameplay. This goes from movement to off-ball positioning, to AI, to mechanics to goalkeepers - EVERYTHING.
I've created a huge range of over 50+ additional options so people can customise their gameplay experience to their own interpretation of 'realism'. Of course I'm not here to say it's the perfect game - nothing is, but my aim is to try and get us to drop some of the tribalism that can exist and give it a chance. The truth is that this game does have so much depth and variety to it, and there are so many aspects that would really appeal to a PES player. I know many people who love PES, and have always disliked FC/FIFA, who are thoroughly enjoying FC24 with my mod.
I'm not wanting to get into philosophical debates about why things should or shouldn't be a certain way and I agree that many of these things should be changed by EA in the default game, but I'm just someone who is just trying to do what I can with what I have access to, to create a realistic game of football - and there is DEFINITELY a game here if you're willing to try it.
You will find a game where stats matter, where the movement and 'skating' has been dramatically improved (not perfect of course, as we need EA to introduce a more physics based animation system, but there are big improvements here), where the CPU defends and actually plays football against you, where the ball is FREE and not stuck like glue to the foot, where you see fouls, huge changes to the physicality/interactions, a game where you need to build up, where there's proper midfield resistance and pressing, tactical variety, long shots, long passes, crosses, where passing/shooting and overall pace has been toned down - etc etc.
Ricky, I'd love for you to give the current version of my mod a run (V20 'Full Gameplay Package'). It's only on PC of course but I think you might surprise yourself if you played it. Send me a message if you want to give it a try.
Again, I understand the skepticism, but give it a run!

Efootball is head and shoulders above this rubbish on the pitch. They just refuse to give us the features we crave.
Presentation is still in the game but only in seasons mode and career mode , as for kickoff mode it has been removed.

2024 is almost halfway done and the only footie game still worth playing is PES2021, released in 2020. Death knell for offline footy games. I think it's well beyond hopeless now especially for offline players.

There’s a reason I play PES 6 (Firebird patch 2023). The modders just tweaked the gameplay to play a bit more like a modern footy game i.e. more time on the ball etc but it’s still PES6 which is just a fun, simple football game. Modern Football games are trying to be too intricate with animations and use heavy scripting to make things happen that would happen in a real game but ultimately it feels completely fake.

I played fifa 19 today and I enjoyed it a lot. I find fifa better on the pc but efootball is better on mobile . After Fifa19 everything went downhill .

The problem is, I don't disagree with what your saying. But PES for someone like me who isn't computer savvy to get PES anywhere near EA is so hard. To know what to download to know how to put it into the game is far to hard. So EA at least all the licensing is there etc.

EA 25 will go like this.....
1. Introducing all new 'analysis' defending.
2. Introducing all new 'pulse' dribbling.
3. Introducing all new 'clinical' shooting.
4. Shows 'all new' career mode features. (Just cut scenes essentially that have no outcome or effect) just to squeeze more money out through the offline players with hope.
5. TH-camrs screaming at the camera waffling about the new features and how it could be the most realistic yet for 20 mins just to get that repeated yearly video done and hopefully make 10 quid off it against 100000 of the same other youtubers.
6. Game releases and again 14.6 million youtubers all doing the same thing opening packs and playing at 500mph.
7. EA laugh for another year and say "as long as these youtubers are getting paid doing ultimate team and folk following them....lets do it again and release the same game but updated muhahahaha"
8. Repeat every year onwards.
Some of my main issues with FIFA.
1. Every player has amazing ball control and everyone can play flawless tiki taka.
2. AI doesn't cross and doesn't take shots from outside the box. It will literally run into space for a great cross but refuse to cross and turn around, ruining a potential chance.
They always try to walk it in no matter who it is. As long as you don't give the AI a super obvious forward pass, it will always knock it back and forth aimlessly outside of your box and all you have to do is run it down and take the ball back. That's the extent of it's AI. There is no sense of it ever actually looking for the pass or trying to set something up.
You can test this too, wait for the AI to get confused because there is no forward pass available (usually it will just jog slowly backwards with the ball basically since it refuses to play the ball backwards) and then when it's moving backwards you open up a forward pass for it and watch how fast it turns around and plays the ball to that player. Like the player has eyes in the back of his head. It's so dumb.
It will not play obvious great passes just because the AI calculated that there was an open player closer to goal even though realistically the pass makes no sense and the through ball down the wing was the obvious choice. It will literally fall on it's ass attempting to hoof it to someone who it calculated was open further up when the player on the ball is turned towards the wing and there is a great pass to make there.

To your mention of Ignite on 22:25. Ricky if you have time, give a chance to FIFA 16 (the last game on Ignite engine in the series) Career Mode. I still play FIFA 16 on full manual and on Legendary difficulty in 2024 and I find it the more way better than modern FIFA or FC whatever they call it. FIFA 16 is decent to send time, play, and get fun.

Look i love your vid ,I’m still an EAFC been a player most of my life when certain moment going whit Konami or PES and all , of course they are bad physics and stuff that makes 0 sense when slowed down totally but i still can get some fun whit the game whit proper sliders when i slow down the game slow down the passing put the widht and height of teams more compact like real life i enjoy the game but yeah it still have lots and lots of work to be done , but E football is also a joke whit plenty of bugs and Football Life is basically playing a 2019-2020 old gen game whit update roster we are just in football gaming desert right now everything is dry hopefully FIFA sale their licences to 2k or something and proper game gets create soon !!
Defenders move 10 feet away when trying to defend and makes it easier to score. There’s no playstyle just running in and scoring
Same complaint I have, the AI. They stand their, they run away from the ball, they run beside the player the ball without putting a fut, they hold up the ball when not needed, they stop running, [they back pass into opponents etc etc etc

Vanilla FC 24 is a mess but with mods, it's actually decent. If you're on PC and you love offline, look into mods (gameplay, career mode mods, etc.)

In FIFA 23 i've seen AI players do magic tricks with their feet, just moving them around the ball nonsensically. Incredibly unrealistic stuff that, to make matters worse, the human player can't do, and it's impossible to defend.
Also 90% of times the player is one-and-one with the keeper: goal, which made some matches finish 7-4 or bs like that.
Stuff like that made me realize these newer FIFA and EAFC games are just not for offline players anymore.
Played Player career mode on EA FC 24 the other day on Ultimate. 10 mins into the game and I’d bagged a hattrick by running through the midfield (same as 19:43) Doesn’t mean I’m good, it means the game is too easy or unbalanced which I’ve always found is an issue with fifa for years.

Also, the amount of cutscenes is actually comical, it’s like they spent all the budget on adding cutscenes and offside technology. Put THAT effort into the gameplay🤣
to note: when you want to control the next player you think it normally should select the player who is nearest to the ball. Not anytime in FC 24. sometimes you wonder wich player you get to play next so a bit strange for myself. FIFA 17 is way better. even when flanks are overpowered when you play against a friend

Paid for the game a few months ago probably played for a week max and haven’t gone back since. Needed a ML fix and after playing 20 seasons on PES 21 I needed something new. Career mode is complete trash. Bugs, transfer window, objectives all broken.
Oh and the gameplay man what’s happened. Haven’t enjoyed the gameplay since FIFA 15/16. Last couple of years they’ve had issues but this game is unplayable.
I bought FC24 on release, uninstalled it a couple of months later, and have been playing Football Life 2024 instead - it's night and day. PES has its own problems and there are plenty of things that are frustrating about it, but playing full manual, passing it around, it's the only way to get a realistic game. Even on full manual, FC24 players just sprint back and forth, covering the midfield like a frenzy of ice-skating ducks on crack. But also, playing career mode without any match intros is depressing - the whole game has been tilted towards Ultimate Team and it's god awful.

EAFC 24 with mods is really good to be honest
I've played more of EAFC 24 than I was expecting to. It's been an OK distraction from a now four-year obsession with PES 2021. Unfortunately FC 24 is far too open to be taken seriously. It's a video game based on football, with video game values (speed, pick up and play, constant action, a fear of boring the player). Sometimes it surprises me with how decent it can feel, and I think, if only that could be the dominant strand. Then it goes stupid again. I'm far from a great footy game player but even I can run the whole length of the pitch with a single player and score. And a big bugbear for me: semi-assisted passing feels too assisted. I won't play with sliders.
