    SPOILER
    So… after playing the Xbox for a bit after, it randomly kept turning the display off, followed then by shutting down. I also noticed that it skips half the boot animation, so thought it might be SSD related.
    I’ve swapped over the SSD to another, however keep having the same issues, the console doesn’t stay on for longer than 10 minutes 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

    While you can just put both prices into the spreadsheet and let the spreadsheet calculate it for him 😂😂

    Really glad you replaced the capacitor with the same one from the donor board rather than just removing it. Without enough capacitance on a voltage supply it can become unstable and lead to brown-outs or other unpredictable behavior.

  • @DrMuFFinMan
    @DrMuFFinMan ปีที่แล้ว

    This might sound stupid, but when using the flare camera to find a heated component on the board. Could you perhaps cool the board off in a cooler of some sorts to help equalize the temperature across the board to better see hot spots? Sorry if that's a dumb question but didn't know if that would better help to find bad components.

    I love watching thee videos and I have learned a lot, but I am stuck on one. I have a Switch that doesn't appear to power on. When I plug in the meter. It shows about 14.8 volts and amps around .3-.4, but the longer I leave it charging, the amps go down eventually to almost nothing. I've also tried holding the power button down, and sometimes when I do, amps go to zero. Any idea what that could indicate? Thanks for the help!

      Thermal paste gets in to any inconsistencies between the material thats cut on the apu and the heatsink allows for a much better heat transfer.

    Analog sticks is not the only design problem these have, the srsl, sync button and 4 led little board the cable always tears couse the design is crap and its bent against the battery, mine broke without opening it up and a lot of them are breaking down, nintendo says nothing of that and nobody complains, in mine i changed the analog sticks for aliexpress ones but i couldnt find a quality replacement for those little boards for the multiplayer buttons, i tried out a couple of them and both broke when installed and bent against the battery couse the design is awful bad. Its like batterys, when we wanna fix something there is not quality replacements anywhere to buy for devices, i have been dissapointed lots of times buying new batteries for laptops and phones and they were all garbage, then there is people and goverments complaining about polution and they dont do their job to ensure we can fix things and polute less, the people that complain about others poluting are usually the people that polute the most by changing their car every 2 years and their phone and laptop every year for new ones. Anyway, nice fixes Joey.

    Another sure way to find a hot component if one is unsure due to it being part of a little cluster of components is to undergo the ouchie test. It is a very simple procedure with minimal risk to the person conducting it. The method? Touching it 😂

    Love the content and the repair side of things, but feel like guestimating a sell price is a bit of a cop-out like those storage wars shows. You can put it up for sale and then update the SSS as you go along to show the actual profit/loss, no need to say your profit is x when in fact it might not be close or it might even be higher. As a viewer I'd prefer the 2nd option, but I guess that's only my opinion.

    • @JoeyDoesTech
      @JoeyDoesTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely respect the opinion. I do all recording and editing in one day (a very long day 😅) and barely have time to list anything let alone package and send out etc. If I accurately updated the spreadsheet to represent the sold prices, it would probably be one video every three weeks 😂 I simply need more time to do it :)

    The SL and SR buttons are another dumb design decision on the joycon, the buttons dont fail, its the way the ribbon cable is aggressively folded and its that fold on the cable that causes the failure.
