Dean, you are the Godfather of the Securities exams. I passed all my licenses thanks to your amazing lessons and I recommend you to all our new reps. Great work!!! Big fan.
Dean makes this Series 7 exam much easier. Putting explanations in real world situations saves me so much studying time ! I now answer exam questions not by memory but by actually understanding the overall idea of the subject. He ties many different subjects all together. For instance if he is talking about the secondary market , he will also mention what regulations Broker/Dealers must follow . Secondary Market & Regulation rules. Two different subjects discussed in one. Wow 🔥👍. They say great things don’t come for free but his lectures disapprove of that ! I would still pay for these videos no questions asked lol !
Dean, you sir are a saint... I'm using Kaplan for my main prep course, but stumbling upon your channel has been a game changer. The actual examples you give for the topics covered is such a big help for remembering and understanding. THANK YOU!

Love the real world examples you give, and I appreciate the "Very Testable" disclaimers you give to certain concepts. Great video. Learning alot. Question...why is thr Special Assessment bond under Revenue Bond and not GO Bond? It's on property. I live in a master planned development in Florida and pay a CDD on top of my property tax. It's due and included in my property tax as an add on. I'm assuming this is a special assessment as well.
Hi Dean. I am watching this video and it feels like it is going way more in depth than what is needed for SIE. Maybe I am wrong? If not, can you point me in a better direction? Thanks.
Hello Dean, do you have any videos on legal documents? I mean, the ones used to provide essential information to investors about securities (Official Statement, Prospectus, Offering Memorandum, Private Placement Memorandum, Offering Circular, etc.) I always get so confused on which document goes with which securities.
Dean great video! I tend to be struggling with the math for the 7 and feel as if it’s all over the place. Do you have any recommendations on how to tackle it? Kaplans Q bank seems very challenging for math in general.
I take my test tomorrow and have been actively watching your videos and practice exams. if you could suggest your best video to pass this test which would it be. Have over 700 flashcards from your videos! Lmk ASAP please youre the goat
I’m using TC and they put Double Barrel bonds under revenue bonds. Would you agree? Because I see both sides. Is it because the User fees are first why they might list it as a Revenue Bond?
Could you clarify pre-refunding? Since bonds are being quoted at Yield To Call basis on the market, the idea is that the municipality is going to buy back the bonds at this lower price with the capital generated by the 2% issue and then have "leftover capital" that amounts to a discount pretty much?
Don't make the test harder than it is. There is nothing about a discount or leftover capital. The test question is aim and shoot or point or click. Pre refunded or advanced refunded bonds must be quoted on yield to call. The pre refunded or advance refunded bonds or the old bonds are at a premium in the secondary market.
Hi Dean, when will it be a situation where a investor are still suitable for both in state and out of state bond? Thank you. i keep seeing this as answer in my STC exam.
32:05 Did I hear that right, that CALL protection will be based off Price, not the interest %? The CALL provision itself would still be based off interest %, correct?
No. Both are quoted on YTC. There is no testable distinction between a bond that has been pre refunded or a bond that has been advance refunded. Both bonds will be called.
No. Zero coupon by all issuers are not callable. They have no call risk. Also true of all Treasuries. They are not callable either. So ,they too, don't have call risk.
