Tornadoes tear through North Texas killing 7, injuring 100

- At least 7 people were killed and 100 were injured in a tornado outbreak in North Texas on Saturday night. FOX 4's Amelia Jones was in Cooke County for some of the worst damage. Homeowners who found themselves in the storm's path shared their stories.

I am so glad that more people were not hurt or killed by this incident who needs others to create grief and pain when nature comes along and does all this damage in such a short amount of time. My prayers goes out to those who have lost loved ones and to those who have suffered injured loved ones. I don’t know you but I am praying for you all I truly am. Let’s stop 🛑 all the hate that is going on and let’s help people who genuinely NEED HELP and support right now that is what the people need right now compassion and kindness. God bless you all and the President stop ✋ what you are bickering about and help this community out with what they really need right now…..please please do what is right NOW!!!

An EF2 has winds up to 135 mph which is the strength of winds in a low end Cat 4 hurricane. From that perspective it's not surprising.

I live in SW Michigan and get emergency weather alerts on my phone by text message. No charge. All communities should offer this to residents, taking shelter and being alerted to bad storms is becoming a way of life for many. Prayers to all to be well.🙏
We have apps that said a storm was coming until less than 2 minutes before a tornado formed and destroyed our community. No sirens here, but an amber alert that notified us 30 seconds beforehand..

That's silly, hurricanes do much more damage with lower wind speeds . An EF 3 or 4 wouldn't have left the walls standing in those wooden frame homes. 135 mph wind will lift a 747 into the air, a couple nails holding a roof truss to a structure doesn't stand a chance. And it ain't just wind, it's thousands of tons of rocks and glass and plywood and shingles and 2x4s going 135 mph into whatever happens to be in the way
