Emirates wanted to expand their routes into canada by even going to calgary and vancouver but the Canadian government rejected that idea and proposaI. I guess they want to try and force people as much as possible to choose a horrible airline like air canada to fly with. It sometimes feels like canada is a communist country by the fact that everything is regulated by the government and they always have the final say without consideration.
