Hi there, thanks a lot for the video. One correction on the independent headphone outputs mixes. When you switch between mixes, you don't need to set fader down to zero and then set again. You only need to get it in the level indicated by the light that is ON on the meter. This light indicates the level when the channel was set previously so if you want to increase it a bit for example, you first need to go to the previous level - next to the light up meter - and "pickup" the level to raise it to the level you want.
Did I understand correctly that line inputs 7 and 8 are designed for both mono and stereo jacks? That is, if I connect two mono connectors to the mono line outputs (left and right) of my casio piano for the left and right channels, and the other end of the cable is, say, a stereo jack that I connect to channel 7, and I get stereo as a result?
One question, how do i record the vocals reverb straight to my daw? Im using the livetrak to connect my microphone and im also using the internal reverb fx from the mixer and want the recording of my vocals together with reverb fx straight inside my daw, as of right now, im able to to sing with reverb when listening and also recording inside my daw but when i play back, its only recording my vocals but dry and no fx at all. How do i get the fx to be recorded inside the daw as well? Like you did with your guitar track.
Agreed with u about the compressor and limiter... Can it be assign the reverb to any of the channel? And the channel recorded dry if u using FX during recording
hello. Thanks for the video. How do you evaluate the quality of the preamps of this mixer-recorder? In terms of noise and ambient sound In terms of record high and low frequencies as well as midranges? And is the phantom power button separate for each line? or not And the last question, regardless of the recording features, is this mixer better or the Yamaha mg line mixer. For example, the Yamaha mg12xu thank you.
Let me be honest with my evaluation. I evaluated it based on my experience recording on a few pre-amps and listening. The LiveTrak L-8 isn't the best honestly. It's decent and does an OK job for more hobbyists, part-time producers. But it's definitely not for those is pro, pro audio. No, phantom power is not for each line. And it depends on what your definitions of better recording is. The Yamaha MG line has better pre-amps for sure. Where it's lacking is probably on the digital side. LiveTrak is a 12-in / 4-out USB audio interface. The MG line if not mistaken is 2-in/2-out
One question. Can you record a bass line from let's say second 0 to 10, and then press play and stop in second 10. Then hit record again and record another bassline that goes right after the previous bassline? As if it were a multitrack recorder? If so, how? With Overdub on or off?
Connect your mic, and guitar to the mixer set your gain and levels right, with a cabe trrs connect your phone to the board head phone monitor jack at the top right set the level preferably to march that of the master. With your phone on a tripod or and stabilizer Hit record on your phone and you are good to go
Thanks for your comprehensive review on the Zoom LiveTrak L-8. What are your thoughts on PreSonus StudioLive AR8c ? Any plans for a review on the PreSonus mixers ?
Hello, could someone please help me??🙏 I am using Zoom's Livetrack L8 as an interface to record with logic pro x. I tried to record my voice over an instrumental that sounds great on my headphones, but I can't record just my voice. The instrumental music is also included in the recording. Do you know if this has a solution? or this type of card can't do this? Greetings!
Very well done video. I have a question though. Are the extra mixes also saved to the recorder, or is it just the master mix and the individual channels?
Hi, Hoping you can help with this query. For small live music band set up we want to record each instruments in separate tracks using Logic Pro. But since the audio monitor’s output is less, we want to connect an active speaker for better sounds. Is that possible with Zoom L8? Thank you
Thanks for the video, it's very instructive. For my workflow it would be interesting if the pads had the ability to trigger cc midi, is this possible? Greetings..
Good thought. Not on the livetrak, no. I know podcast mixers like the RODEcaster does have that function to trigger MIDI. A missed opportunity for Zoom.
I connect the zoom L8 as the main i/0 audio device of my Mac. Normally, the mac returns its output to usb 1-2, and I use a DAW, which is assigned output 3-4. All this is collected in the L8 zoom in inputs 7 (which is assigned as stereo usb 1-2) and 8 (which is assigned as stereo usb 3-4). The Zoom L8 is connected to speakers via its Left and Right physical outputs. So when I try to play a song from my Mac (1-2) and a song from my DAW (3-4) at the same time, track 3-4 and glitches. So impossible to make them play simultaneously. However, with my other sound cards, when I assign outputs like this, it doesn't cause this glitch. So I'm trying to figure out why...!?
My man.. Yes, I hear you and your classical music. Recording 1 track with your microphone is EXACTLY the same as what I did at 8:56.. Only difference is you plug in a microphone (via XLR), instead of the plugging in a 1/4 jack which I did with the guitar. Good luck!
Nice video. I'm really confused. I am trying to use it for audio interface primarily, just for vocals for now. The input volume doesn't seem to change, it forces me to use the gain knob instead. Does the volume feature not work with an audio interface?
I ordered it today and found your video to be truly fabulous!
How are you liking it 2 months later? Do you find the preamps an issue?
thank you soo much 4 the great review
Thanks dude for such a detailed video. Blessings to you and yours. xx
Really helpful video. Subscribed.
Sick review dude
Very informative review. Thanks
Un grand merci pour cette vidéo claire et exhaustive ! 👍
Nice overview.
Thank you for this beneficial video

Nice breakdown… I thinking of picking this up! Between this and the H6 or 8 🤔

Can u also record - for example - 2 guitars and 2 mics on a 4 seperate tracks inside a DAW, like cubase?
tq for the info. how to play are background muzik ?

what headphone are you using here? and did you cranked up the volume on your monitoring knobs?
How was delay work? Actually I like to music background audio output late 700ms. Is it the delay function or it looks like the reverb?
hello.

Can you use your phone directly to mixer and do some live videos on youtube or fb? Thanks planning to buy this one. 😉
no eqs on main out and monitors?

Which one would you recommend and it's better than the other, behringer flow 8 vs zoom livetrak L-8
Where do the speakers plug into on Live 8 for sounds
Can we video record using a mobile phone while playing guitar and singing to a mic connected all in this mixer,
Connect your mic, and guitar to the mixer set your gain and levels right, with a cabe trrs connect your phone to the board head phone monitor jack at the top right set the level preferably to march that of the master. If we want to use this as a live mixer, do we still need DI boxes for mixer mode?
No need for DI boxes, unless your guitar needs it.
@@reubenchng what do you mean? By my guitar needs it?
Im planning to put bass, digital drums, acoustic guitars and keyboards.
Thanks very useful
Thanks for watching. Glad it was useful.

Hello. When recording the master track, sliders are up all the way (till distortion) but the volume on the end result is low. Any suggestions?

Can I take the master track in a DAW? If so what input is that?
I believe you can. Should be input 11-12
Nice! What DAW is this! I’m having trouble using cubase 11 with my L-8 cheers!
DAW is Logic Pro
Do you know can use use an app to control the levels ? I bought the H8 with the BTA 1 adaptor and the only thing you can do is stop and start.
The BTA 1 doesn't work with the LiveTrak L-8. Inputs has to be line-in.
Hi, have you tried using it as an ios interface? Thanks!
How to adjust echo and reverb for Mic karaoke
What DAW you have?
Logic Pro
help me a lot, thanks
I just have to record a plain piano track by microphone, I cant do it. Does anyone know how to simply record
I'm recording very good content to be distributed on cd, this is worthwhile to help me
Un software, para Windows por fa
Thank you CK Music for supporting me with the gears. If you're in Malaysia, check them out at: ckmusic.com.my
Kenapa sangat mahal gitulo, padahal Uda lama, apa ga bisa turun ya harganya
with that kind of price, no bluetooth, ... how horrible is that..
Maybe you should buy the cheapers one with bluetooth that made from China.
😅
All content is irrelevant compared to my classical music, just show me how to simply record 1 track by microphone

yup the fader isn't the levels going into your computer. That's the gain knobs.
The faders are for the outputs on the board.
